Description
Improve Performance. Wake up your V6-powered pony for faster acceleration off the line with a set of 4.10 Motive Performance Plus gears. A steeper set of gears will get you into your power band faster for faster launches and more punch off the line. Superior Construction. These Motive ring and pinon gears are CNC cut from high grade 8620 gear steel, and factory lapped for precision fit. Each set is hardness tested prior to leaving the factory to ensure the highest quality.

Recommended Upgrade. Changing the rear axle gear ratio will throw off the calibration of your Mustangs speedometer, but a Ford Racing Speedometer Recalibration Tool is an inexpensive way to fix this issue.

Application. This Motive Performance Plus Ring and Pinion Gear set will fit all 2005 to 2010 V6 Ford Mustangs equipped with a 7.5" rear end. A master bearing kit is recommended by most installers, especially on high mileage vehicles, see drop down option above.

Technical Note. Installation costs will vary, but a good rule of thumb is between $250 and $300. Be sure to work with a reliable shop that you trust for installations.

Amazing

These gears are awsome, I get so much acceleration in my first three gears now with only a little drop in mpg. This is a great product with Limited Slip Differential. Smokin them ricers all the time now.

WOW

I have many upgrades on my 2008 V6 and this BY FAR is the best I have ever installed. Dont even consider 3.73s ANYONE. The 4.10s do not decrease top end, because you can rev up higher and they pull SO

Will these gears make you really slow at high speeds? Also, will thier be mayor difference in fuel economy while highway driving? Im debating whether to go with these gears, or 3.73s I want the acceleration that the 4.10 guys talk about, but not if i have to be paying for it at the gas pump every week.

Answer This Question

Whats better the 4.10 or 3.73 Gears?

Ampower89 Year: 2007 Model: V6

Good Question (0) (0)
  • IT DEPENDS ON WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR. IF YOU PURLY WANT QUICKER 0-60 AND 1/4 MILE TIMES, THE 4.10'S ARE FOR YOU. HOWEVER, IF YOU WANT QUICKER ACCELERATION WITHOUT SACERFICING DRIVEABILITY AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, THE 3.37'S ARE BETTER SUITED FOR ALL AROUND PERFORMANCE. I PERSONALLY USED 3.55 GEARS IN MY 2011 V6 THAT HAS AROUND 370 HP. IT ACCELERATES VERY FAST AND STAYS AROUND 2K TO 2500 RPM IN TOP GEAR ON THE HIGHWAY GETTING AROUND 27MPG HWY. ALSO REMEMBER, THE TALLER THE GEAR, THE LOWER THE TOP SPEED. THAT IS WHY THE 2012 GT500 HAS 3.31 GEARS IN IT.

Will the 4.10 gears work on the stock v6 diff? I was wondering of the 4.10 gears would fit with the stock 2007 v6 diff or would i have to get a LSD?

WRTHG Year: 2007 Model: V6

Good Question (0) (0)
  • Put these on my other V6 Stang... Get the LSD it's well worth it ! Also you will have to change the Lube and get the friction modifier. There is a bearing kit you are best to install when changing the gears and diff. Do it right the first time. Only other option is to go to the 8.8 inch rear end.

    AWESOME performance...HUGE SMILE!!!

    October 06, 2011

I myself would wonder what performance rear gears would bring and all I can say is WOW! I was amazed with the performance and differnence it brought. Along with Diablo 93 tune, Flowmaster exhaust Ford T-Lok, and AFE CAI, this performance is a MUST and will not disappoint you. I highly recommend this product. It brought a huge smile on my face (as others have said) and I'm sure it will add a smile to yours..Thank you American Muscle for the great product, quality, shipping and savings!!! Overall, it really wakes up your car and should be one of the first performance mod.

its a mess but worth it to install

    April 19, 2010

Well i bought these and when i went to install them i noticed some problems. the number one problem was that the cross shaft pin absolutely has to be grinded down if you do not buy the posi trac diffriental. the ring gear is alot thicker than that of the stock 323 gears. another thing is that the recommended parts does not say anything about this. TRUST ME IT IS A MESS TO INSTALL BY YOUR SELF BUT WELL WORTH THE POWER DIFFERENCE. IT IS NICE TO SHIFT INTO FOURTH GEAR AND HEAR A BARK WITH BRAND NEW TIRES LOL AND BY THE WAY EVERY ONE THAT COMPLAINS ABOUT THE WHINING NEEDS TO CHECK THEIR BACK LASH ON THEIR CRUSH SLEEVE BECAUSE THAT IS WHAT CAUSES IT TO WHINE

    4.10 Gears (V6)

    March 23, 2010

Got these installed and at first I was taking it easy on the car and began to wonder why I'd bothered getting the gears. Then I stepped on it and that was the moment I fell in love. The car pulls much better combined with the 7.5" Tlok.

    Manual Tranny w/ 4.10\'s

    March 22, 2009

Now I\'ve heard that 4.10\'s with a manual transmission are a bad mix. The gears, they say, would be too short. The Facts: 1st - Pretty short, but not too short. PULLS! 2nd - Pulls like 1st did with stock gears 3rd - Surprising improvement 4th - Great for slaughtering traffic 5th - 2600rpm @ 70mph. Revs are a little high at freeway speeds, but in town, 5th is actually usable. If I did it all over again, I\'d might get 3.73\'s just because of the freeway revs, but I do NOT regret this mod. If all you\'re looking for is acceleration, 4.10\'s are the way to go.

    awesome gears

    February 01, 2008

These gears are awesome! They dont whine, but if your gears whine, just take them back to the shop. Thats what I did and the only thing wrong was that the crush sleeve needed to be crushed a little bit more. Thanks American Muscle!

    BREAKAGE

    February 05, 2010

HAD THESE AFTER I GOT BACK FROM DEPLOYMENT IN JULY OF 09 AND IN DECEMBER THEY BROKE AND TORE THE WHOLE REAR-END OUT. SO IF YOU PUT 4.10'S IN, MAKE SURE YOU PUT IN GOOD AXLES, FORD RACING PARTS, AND LUBE IT UP WITH ROYAL PURPLE OR YOU WILL BE SITTING IF YOU HAVE ANY KIND OF MAJOR MOD WORK LIKE MOTOR OR FORCED INDUCTION LIKE MYSELF

    Absolutely terrible

    October 01, 2010

took these to a shop to get professionally installed and they said the pinion thread was not right so they cannot tighten it. Probably going to have to return them and buy Ford Racing gears. Car is ripped apart right now and wont be able to drive it until I get something to put in. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!

Gears are the way to go

    February 23, 2012

I had these gears installed along with a Ford Racing T-Lok. I'm still in my break in period, but the difference between these 4.10's and my stock 3.31's is really noticeable. i really get put back into my seat when i jump on it. Best mod i have done so far with the T-Lok.
