Carb engine, 5.0 with E303 cam. Is this distributor gear compatible?

ChuckE Year: 1989 Model: GT

  • Yes, MSD supplies the distributor with the correct gear for your Mustang. I believe all the Mustangs used the steel gear on the distributor. Especially the V8 models. I know you can buy a softer gear on replacement distributors from local parts stores, but they don't sell many of those. My 92 has the B303 cam when I replaced the distributor with the MSD Pro Billet with steel gear. Just don't forget to pre-lube before installing!
