Hi I’m Justin with AmericanMuscle.com and I’m checking out these unpainted mirror covers, fitting all 2010 and up V6 Mustangs. If you’re watching this then you’re probably aware that the factory V6 are, well pretty lame. The plain old black covers do nothing for the lines of the car, but now you can change that. These unpainted mirror covers give all you V6 owners out there a chance to either match the covers to the color of your car, or be creative and do something totally unique. Whatever path you choose, it’s sure to be a huge improvement over the boring factory mirror covers. Taking a closer look at the covers themselves, you’ll notice a very durable ABS plastic material, and a design which has been inspired from original Ford CAD data, ensuring an OEM like fit. On to the next thing you’ll notice about these covers, which is pretty obvious, the fact that they’re unpainted, so with that in mind you’ll have to take these to your local paint shop and have them sprayed before you get them installed, or you can check out one of our pre painted options available in every single factory color. When it does come time for installation you’ll find it extremely easy and very straightforward, you’ll first want to gently pry off your factory mirror covers and set those aside, grab your new mirror covers and snap them into place. This entire process should take you no more than 15 minutes. So if you’re not a fan of those boring factory V6 mirror covers and you want to add some character to your ride, then be sure to check out these unpainted mirror covers right here at AmericanMuscle.com.

Mirror Covers For some reason these only say that they are for the 10-14 V6. However from the picture they look exactly like the ones on my 2011 GT. Will they fit on a GT?

    Review from Mirror Covers - Pre-painted (10-14 V6)

    Pre painted version review

This product is easy to install, well packaged and is a relatively inexpensive upgrade to the visual appeal of a mustang. The paint and gloss do indeed match the car very well. The fitting though may give you some problems. Out of the pair that I ordered, one fit flush and secure, while the other did not fit so well. The driver's side cover had a small but noticeable gap. Pushing it in more to fill the gap served as a temporary fix, as the cover would return to its resting position and reveal the gap. This may not be a problem with every pair, perhaps as more are made they become less efficient? Regardless, I still support the product. The gap is not big enough to make me want my money back or complain about it beyond notifying future customers in this review. Anyone seeing you drive by with them will not notice, but they would if they were checking out your vehicle up close on foot.

    Review from Mirror Covers - Pre-painted (10-14 V6)

Improves look of car, but pricey & not perfect fit

These covers definitely improve the appearance of my car, but they are not a perfect fit. On the first set I got, there was an 1/8th inch gap on the passenger side. Contacted AM and they were great about sending a replacement. Great customer service! Got the replacement set today, and again the fit is not perfect on the passenger side. I thought that maybe it was a defect in my mirror itself so I put the factory cover back on and it fits perfectly. Going to keep the AM covers, but will probably have a local shop paint my factory covers later since they are a better fit.

    Almost Perfect

Mirror covers arrived very quickly, could not wait to put them on(took less than 10 minutes). Color match is perfect, very nice and smooth paint job. Driver's side fit great, passenger side not as well, but still unless you know what to for you can not notice the slight gap. Overall I am very satisfied and can't wait to order additional pre-painted items.

    Review from Mirror Covers - Pre-painted (10-14 V6)

Nice Upgrade - A few Install Tips

These mirror covers really enhance the look of the car. A few tips for installation - 1st the existing mirror covers are hard to remove. To make this easier and prevent damage to the mirror surround, take a thin putty knife and insert it in the gap between the existing mirror cover and the mirror surround. Then take a wide blade flat screwdriver and insert it against the putty knife blade and the existing cover - then gently pry off the old cover, working your way around the top of the housing. This will protect the mirror surround from damage by the screwdriver. I had a hard time sliding the new covers in place. I decided to put a small dab of electric grease (or liquid soap) on the locking tabs. In doing this, the cover slipped right into place with no fuss. This is a ten minute job that is well worth the time and money. I hope these tips help someone.

    Review from Mirror Covers - Pre-painted (10-14 V6)

These parts are very easy to install

Installation takes a few minutes. I used two flat head screwdrivers to pop the stock covers off. Place one screw driver against the mirror lip, insert the other screw driver in the remaining gap, and twist the cover-side screw driver to pop the stock cover off. This avoids damaging the mirror-side lip. Place the replacement cover on the mirror and push / strike the cover with the heel of your palm, until all of the clips on the cover engage the tabs in the mirror. There should be no gap at this point. This looks very good on my Sterling gray mustang. Highly recommended.

    Review from Mirror Covers - Pre-painted (10-14 V6)

    Makes a huge difference!

I have a basic trim Mustang V6 2014. The mirror covers were just black plastic and boring. These colored ones from American Muscle make the car pop just a little bit more! I only had trouble popping the old ones off. On of the old ones broke while doing so, but I wasn't going to use them anymore anyway. Putting the new ones on were simple, just needed to wiggle a little bit until the pop in. The fit isn't perfect, but not awful either. I wouldn't expect it to be perfect since every mold can't be 100% perfect. You will only notice if you stare really close at it. All in all, I'm a rookie with cars, but I was able to do this by myself in the dark... literally!

Painted Mirror Covers - Great Addition!

These are great looking mirror covers. The mirror covers are a very quality product. We were a little hesitant putting the mirror covers on our black Mustang, but the end result was definitely worth the price. The installation is easy, only taking about 5 minutes. They set the car off in many ways. American Muscle did a great job with packaging and shipping, and I will definitely be ordering from them again.

    GT

If you are worried about getting these for anything other than a V6, don't. They fit on my GT perfectly. They say V6 because the v6 came with crummy unpainted covers. I switched mine from black to red and it was well worth it.
