Easy Operation. The Push Start Ignition Button allows you to simply turn the key to the "on" position and then press the button to unleash to the power of your pony.

Straight Forward Install. The Push Button Ignition kit easily installs in the existing cigarette lighter outlet located in the center console with the included wire harness, so there is no drilling into your dash.

Cool Factor. The Push Start Ignition is possibly the coolest functional modification you can make to your pony's interior.

Application. This Push Start Ignition Button is designed to fit all 1999 to 2004 Ford Mustangs, including the V6, GT, Bullitt and SVT Cobra models.

This is an awesome addition to my 2004 Mustang Gt. I did not use the cigarette lighter I choose to make a hold on the trim and it looks and work great.

Will it work with a remote starter? I was wondering if it were possible to install this push button starter with a remote starter? Would there be any problem such as one not working or both not working?

john17727

  • I assume you mean a alarm system remote start system - yes it would work because the push button start button is tied to the key - means you have to insert and turn the key and then push the start button. The button only replaces the final turn on your key. Instead of turning your key all the way until your car starts, you turn it to the run position and then use the button instead of just turning the key the rest of the way. A alarm remote start won't care about any of this and will work like any other car. At the end of the day, this push button is not a real full push button start - like on new cars today. This is a kind of fake, mainly for looks and the cool factor. I like mine and use it to start my car everyday. :)

Looks great car fires right up!!

I was a bit nervous at first to mess with my ignition switch box but once you get everything off its as simple as plug an play and looks great after! I Would recommend this to anyone looking for a cool simple mod to the interior. I would also recommend getting new wire splice clips as the ones included are flimsy.

    perfect for a stang master

as a stang master I am very satisfied with this production. I copped 2 of these 'stang buttons', one for me and one for my stang apprentice. once I installed the button I went to go stang it up at the club and the stang ladies loved my button. I love the noise the car makes when I start up ma stang. this product is a 5 star. when I floor the stang my rookie passengers almost get whiplash because of the push to start button.

    Looks goods,dont think twice

this was very easy to install took about 1 hr.Looks really good it totally replaces your cigarette lighter. The only downfall is you must have the keys in the ignition in the on position for push to start to work. You do have the option of cutting a wire to disable the key function and it be all push to start.Overal I think its a nice product and would say get it,good price and one who knows how to splice into wires can install this very basic & the instructions are included.

Push Button Start Ignition Kit (99-04 All)

Very nice product. The install of the button only took about 10 minutes, but the splicing clips didn't break through the wire cover, they just bent away from it. Wewere able to remove part of the wire cover and splice it in that way. Over all I like the product and would recommend it

    Pretty cool looking!

I bought this on impulse and i gotta say i like it. The install was easy, the only issue i had was the connectors that come in the package didn't pinch through the ignition wires. I just stripped the wire and did it that way. It adds a nice feature inside!

    this was a decent product

its an ok product. it works great but you still need the key and its more of a hold to start. only thing that needs to be worked on would be the instructions, just need to be a little bit more clearer on what wire to splice.

    Really cool, innovative piece

Not too happy about the location of this, but I guess it has to go wherever the lighter port is. Still a really cool thing. Make sure you don't wire it so that the key doesn't start the car anymore because then someone could just break a window, push the button and steal your vehicle! Preferably I'd like a better location but other than that flawless

    Needs modification

The overall product is really cool. The only thing I would change would be the fact that you have to put your key in the ignition and have it in the on position before you can start it. With a few relays this can be bypassed making it cooler and more functional. Also it allows the owner to have the security they want to ease the worry of someone breaking in and starting it.

    Simple or moderate install

Simply wiring the push button to the ignition was easy. If you have the time and knowledge, you can wire it up so you don't need the key. Well worth the money, gives my 2001 gt a nice visual upgrade.

    Awesome Product

First off American muscle is the best place to buy any aftermarket mods for your mustang. Great products, fast shipping. Great overall service. For the button itself, I have no experience with anything electrical with a car at all. I'm just an 18 year old kid in college with a v6 mustang but I love it. My dad told me to wait for him to get home from work so he could help me install it, but I was too anxious and from the videos I've watched on the install and the step by step instructions included in the box, the install took me 30 minutes all together. Make sure to disconnect your black cable from your battery before you start messing with any electrical things in your car, just for precautionary reasons. The dash disassembly is pretty easy as long as you have the a socket wrench with the right the size bits. The ignition switch is right there just unscrew the bolt. Splice into the wires and connect the wires. The wire harnesses looked to be a pretty good idea but my cut in the wire wasn't long enough and it was just too tight of a space. So I just spliced off the harnesses and connected it that way with some electrical tape. After you're all connected. Plug back in your ignition switch. AND SCREW THE BOLT IN ALL THE WAY. JUST PLUGGING IT IN WONT DO ANYTHING. MAKE SURE TO SCREW IT IN BEFORE TRYING IT. When I hooked mine up i did what I thought was plugging it in and it didnt work and I thought I broke my car lol. But sure enough I screwed it all the way back in, put my key in the ignition, pressed the clutch in and it turned right on. Make sure to test it before reassembling your dash. After you see it works and the connections are tight and good. Put everything back together and you're all set. After I told my dad I did it by myself he was all surprised and impressed but it was really just that easy of an install. Anyone with tools and who can read instructions can install it. Very cool product. Very sturdy feel all around. Feels like a solid product in your hands. The foreign ones online don't come close to comparing to this button they are plastic and suck. Spend the extra money if you want a cool, reliable push to start button for your 99-04 mustang. And again, American muscle you guys are the best. I will be buying everything for my car through you guys.

Looks Nice, However Install Took Much Longer than Anticipated

Once I got the push-button starter installed, it looks and operates great. The installation do not go as planned. I attempted to use the connected splicers, but all they did is bend. I cut those off, and I used others that I had. However a good point to note, you should really strip some of the shielding off of the starter button wires. Once I did this, the starter actually worked. Up until then, I would NOT work at all. The directions are really straight forward and easy to understand.
