Description
NT555. The Nitto Tire NT555 285/30-20 is a summer-oriented, ultra high-performance street tire that was designed with the performance driver in mind. With one of the largest contact patches available, the NT555 provides superior traction and reliable handling - without sacrificing tread life. Both the tread pattern and the compound were optimized for dry performance. The highly rigid tread blocks provide stability while prolonging tire life. The NT555 will get you off the line quicker in the straights and provide confidence in the corners.

Superior traction and reliable handling. By utilizing a racing concept design, Nitto Tire's engineers developed the NT555 "Extreme ZR". With a specially formulated compound and one of the biggest contact patches available, the NT555 provides superior traction and reliable handling.

Excellent anti-hydroplaning characteristics. The three-circumferential grooves channel water efficiently, while the lateral grooves break up the water wedge. This combination of grooves and channels reduces the chance of hydroplaning. Combined with an increase in tread block rigidity, a high modulus carcass, and hard bead filler, the NT555 delivers total vehicle control under all driving conditions.

Directional tread design. The tread pattern on the Nitto NT555 is designed for high-speed stability and superb cornering performance. High tread block rigidity secures stable contact with the road under all driving conditions.

5 Year Warranty. This Nitto Tire comes with a 5-year warranty from the date of purchase. Some limitations do apply. Please see the Full Nitto Warranty disclosure for details.

Best Fit: 20 x 10 Inch 2005+ Wheels

Features:
  • High-grip compound delivers superior mobility on both wet and dry surfaces, while ensuring a high level of anti-wear performance
  • W Performance Rated, Treadwear 300, Traction and Temperature A

NOTE: These are extreme ultra high performance summer specific compound and tread tires. Use during the summer and warm temperature months will result in far superior traction over “all season” tires. Use during the winter months/cold temperatures drastically reduces traction and exponentially increases stopping distance as the compound becomes less sticky.

Really glad I got these tires. Much quieter than the stock tires and better grip. Gives my mustang a more aggressive look with the staggered tires.

    Thats a good choice

i buy those tires 2 months ago. I used to have some falken tires on and i definitly prefer the nitto one. First, they look great. They look mean and sporty. Second, theyre great on high speed like they are suppose to be. You dont have to worry that youll lose control on high speed even if its rainy or wet. The tire patten is made to have a good control on differant situartion. So... i love those tire.... espacilly for the price. The fallken one were about 2000 $ for the all set and i paid 900 $ for the nitto one. Good choice.

    NT 555

I did some research that peaked my interest about these Nitto tires that impressed me before I chose to purchase the tires . What impressed me were the tests performed by Nitto to get the compounds of the tire to reach a mileage factor and the abilities to grip the road in hot temps as well as rain . We all know that performance tires have longevity issues as well as wet surface . From my current understanding the New Nitto NT555 have improvements with the Next Generation of Performance tires . In conclusion I am comfortable with my decision to run the NT555 all Summer Season .

    Great Shoes

These are great tires. I had them on my 2004 Mach and now a 2013 GT. Great dry traction on cornering and acceleration. They have a problem staying stuck in the rain, so slow down if it's even drizzling. You'll burn out like you just hit the water box at the drag strip and you'll fishtail like your in a drift competition. The tire is pretty soft. I notice the rubber on my gotta have it green paint within a day after I wash the car and thats under normal driving conditions. I have over 6k miles on them and they have held up nice.

    GT500 with NT555

I purchased the tires for my GT500. I originally thought I needed new struts and shocks because of the poor ride quality with my Shelby. After switching to a new set of tires, my car drove like new. I was also very impressed with the new found traction. This is a great choice for any application in my opinion.

    Undersized, Decent Priced, and Mediocre

First and foremost understand this when you buy these tires. They are really undersized. They run somewhere closer to 265 and 275 than 285. I have 10" wide rims and the side walls don't line up straight up perpendicular to the ground and 285s should be perfectly sized for 10" rims. That being said and disclaimed, here's my review. Dry Traction: They are decent for 265/275 tires but mediocre for 285s. If you have 421whp or more like me the rear will break away 1st and sometimes second depending on ambient temp and of course tire temp. If its 70deg, the dry traction goes from mediocre to a joke. Still lots better than the stock Pirellis tho I guess. Straight line is better than cornering grip. Wet Traction: These tires are like my dog. It hates taking a bath but if it must it will obey. That is you really must cajole it into submission and or you'll likely have a wet dog slipping past you running around all wet and sloppy... like my dog if I'm not careful about keeping him under control. Ride Quality: Pretty good actually. For the first 15,000 miles or so hardly any road noise. But the last 14,000 miles some NVH crept in. Overall: Buy this if you're ok will undersized, mediocre to well performing dry tires with horrible wet traction performance but will last probably close to 33,000 miles (I got rid of them at 29,000 miles with at least 4,000 miles life left) Would I recommend it? Yes if they ran true to size. As of now, no I can't recommend them.

    Low profile - no worries

I was wondering what these low profile tires would look like on my car. Well it became evident once installed that I definitely made the right choice by purchasing these! What a great looking tire in addition to outstanding performance. All of my apprehensions were dispelled! Highly recommended! American Muscle comes through again!
