Increases Power. Now you can improve the performance of your 4.0L V6 Mustang with a PaceSetter off-road shorty Y pipe, for power you can feel throughout the RPM band. This shorty off-road Y pipe when combined with a pair of PaceSetter Long Tube Headers will greatly improve your Mustangs exhaust flow for an increase in horsepower, torque, and throttle response.

Muscle Car Rumble. This free flowing PaceSetter Mid Pipe will not only increase horsepower and torque, but it will also add a deep muscle car rumble to the sound of your exhaust with its classic "Y" crossover pipe design.

Durable Construction. PaceSetter Exhaust constructs their off-road shorty Y-pipes from free-flowing 2-1/2" diameter CNC mandrel bent 16-gauge aluminized tubing to ensure maximum flow for more power you can feel.

Application. This PaceSetter Off-Road Shorty Y-Pipe is designed to fit the 2005 to 2010 4.0L V6 Mustangs with PaceSetter Long-Tube Headers installed.

I already have the magnaflow dual exhaust on my car. Would this mid pipe match up to the magnaflows or would modifications have to be done?

  • The Magnaflow cat-back you have already comes with a y-pipe. They two y-pipes have different designs so you may need to make some modifications in order to install this PaceSetter pipe.


Do I use this midpipe if I have dual exhaust?

My 2005 Mustang V6 already has dual Flowmaster exhaust. Would this and Pacesetter Longtube headers work with my current exhaust setup?

  • You will more than likely have to do some modifications as the PaceSetter Offroad Y-Pipe (05-10 V6 w/ Long Tube Headers) is not designed with a dual exhaust in mind.


Application with already converted to dual 2010 v6 Like it says above I have a 2010 v6 that has already been converted to a true dual (cut right after the cats and ran a new pipe to the back where I put on an axel-back flowmaster exhaust) will I still be able to get this mid-pipe along with the pacesetter LT's? Or will further modifications be needed? The goal of this modification is to get the pacesetter LT's but it says I need this mid-pipe too.

Dual Exhaust? I have dual exhaust on my V6, I want to buy the PaceSetter long tube headers, but do I have to buy the Offroad Shorty Y-Pipe? Or can I just buy the LT Headers and be good to go?

  • Because you are buying long tube headers, you need to compensate buy purchasing a shorter mid pipe in order for proper installation. So the PaceSetter Offroad Y-Pipe (05-10 V6 w/ Long Tube Headers) would be perfect, doing anything else would most likely end with modifications to make it work, and this is definitely the case if you only get the headers.


Will this pipe plus pacesetter long tube headers require a tune for the car to operate properly or simply to maximize the possible power gains?

  • A custom tune will be required for your car to run correctly with the use of any long tube headers or any off road mid-pipe.

    Great setup.

    Bought this to install with the long tube headers on '06. Great fit and great sound. My only complaint is the annoying check engine light. Bought a tuner to fix this, but then was told all 4 O2 sensors must be hooked up to eliminate. Going to order MIL ELIMINATORS to take care of the engine light as other people have installed on newer than 04 mustangs with good results.

    Great Product!

    Love it!

    I got the off road y pipe along with the long tube headers for my 08 v6... Let's just say I didn't know a v6 could sound or be that loud! I absolutely love it! Sounds mean and aggressive. Defiantly would recommend it

    Awesome for those on a budget!

    The fit was nearly spot on! The exhaust hangs but a fraction of an inch lower than stock, though that could be human error. Great product for those wanting the extra power of the pacesetter long tubes without the extra price of going with duals.

    Hellooooo Horsepower!

    This mid-pipe is forsure second best performance part ive installed yet! It has that great muscle car rumble like the classic mustangs. Very easy fitment no hassle at all! I installed this mid-pipe with the Pacesetters long tube headers, combined these two are awesome parts and well worth it. Great mod for the price! Definately recommend.

    It's super loud and raspy! Bang for your buck!!

    I bought this part because I wanted to stay with the single exhaust for a while and i like it so far it's loud and aggressive even after I Installed the cats!! Very good product

    I bought the off road y pipe with pace setter long tube headers, and they really woke my mustang up. i thought it sounded good before with just my pypes exhaust on it. but now my V6 screams when i start it up and take off!

    Please add Cats

    I purchased this because I already had the Pacesetter Longtubes and I read many great reviews about the sound and power of the combination. Installation is fairly simply, the only hard part is unbolting all the stock stuff. The sound, is absolutely terrible. I thought it was a leak so I took it to an exhaust shop and they fixed any leaks and it STILL sounds bad. I ordered some high flow cats to put on to fix the sound. The 4.0 does NOT need to be catless! The sound is a super loud, raspy (in a bad way) note. It has really made the car unfun to drive because I have to listen to it. I have no idea why people like this setup. As far as power, I could feel a little increase. Certainly not the super crazy awesome gain that most of the reviews seem to suggest.

      A catless mid-pipe combined with Long Tubes will ultimately give you maximum gains compared to a LTH, catted set up. I'm sorry you were disappointed in the sound, but installing cats for a custom exhaust system should definitely help refine the sound.

    Cannot Believe the difference

    This and the Longtubes were a pain to install without a lift but man was it worth it. After getting these babys hooked up and tuned I'm still spinning in second and third gear. I didn't expect much of a power difference but boy was I wrong! The sound is so loud and deep I don't even want to turn my radio on, I could just listen to the exhaust all day!
