Improves Ride Quality. Improve the sloppy feel of your Mustangs ride by replacing those old worn out, stock factory rubber bushings with a brand new set of Prothane Rear Upper Axle Bushings for increased performance and better overall ride quality. Polyurethane Construction. Prothane bushings are made from a polyurethane material which is far superior than standard rubber. Polyurethane is unique in that it has the elasticity properties of rubber combined with the durability of metal, making it ideal for suspension bushings.

Severe Binding issue only with these bushings installed.

    September 16, 2011

After doing a lot of reading I get a binding issue where the axle remains compressed so the rear of the car squats pretty bad. I tried greasing everything all over again, loosening and tightening different aspect and the severity changes but the car continues to bind. The only choice appears to be swap in new rubber bushings. I have installed polyurethane on other cars and have them all over the car and these are the only ones causing me problems. I wish I had done more research, and spent the same money on rubber instead of spending the money twice.

    December 20, 2013

This was the final master piece to stiffen up my rear end! Its the little things that make you go wow! Did the upper and lower contol arms with isolators all the same time when doing these. Couple of months its track time!

if your old contorl arms are worn out dont replace them with the same soft rubber bushings. these bushings are a huge improvement.

    Good option for OE

    February 11, 2013

Put these in when I pulled the axle assembly and rebuilt with a gear swap. Definitely a good setup for the money. Especially when on sale. You will need to hone the sleeves out for certain. The cars less likely to snap under load when breaking the back tires loose. It's a good upgrade to combine with new stock upper arms and a set of J&M lowers. I run this combo on all of my cars with great success.

    keep your axle in check

    August 02, 2012

First off cant beat the price!! cheaper then most places sell stock rubber ones for the same $$ and these are way better. Fit was perfect. Improved stiffness but would not waste time if you are using stock control arms. Go Tubular! Anyways the hardest part for the install was removing the old worn rubber bushings. Didn't have the correct tool to press them out so i just drilled out the rubber and scraped the excess off the inner wall to clean them up. make sure you lube them up well before install and all surfaces that will make contact to the control arm.

    Easy install replacement bushing

    July 28, 2012

Handling was improved. Only replaced the two on top of differential. Others are worn I'm sure, but these were hailed so needed to be done right now. Fire works great to soften rubber and remove from sleeves. Sanded out remnants of rubber from sleeve with 1/4 inch angle grinder with a small sanding drum. Install and reassembly was a breeze. Used a hoist and threaded jack stand to manipulate rear axle to ease inistall.

    February 26, 2012

These bushings were pretty easy to install, just make sure all the old bushing is completly cleaned out of the sleeve or you will be in for a big headache.
