Description
Reduce Vibration. The stock factory motor mounts use rubber bushings that deteriorate over time causing excessive engine and drive line vibration, but Prothane Bullet Motor Mounts use polyurethane bushings to effectively reduce vibration and will last years longer than rubber.

Quality Construction. Crafted from billet aluminum and polyurethane these Prothane Mustang Motor Mounts are much stronger and lighter than their stock rubber and steel counterparts to give you years of trouble free driving.

Application. These Prothane Bullet Motor Mounts are designed for use on the 2005 to 2009 Ford Mustang with either the 4.0L V6 or 4.6L V8 motor, including the V6, GT and Bullitt models.

The Vibes!!

These motor mounts are great if you are driving a weekend race car, however, if you installing on a daily driver they will drive you crazy. I'm not a fan of vibes at idle, and these sure cause a lot. You ...

Application for supercharg mustang ( roush mustang) To it may concern , I would like to know if use these engine mounts on a Roush Stage 3 Mustang 4.6 . 1. Will this mounts allow hood clears for the supercharger? 2. Will their be more engine vibration while driving with these mounts? THANK YOU for your time and cooperation. Garry

Clearance with Whipple S/C I have whipple installed on my 05 gt top clearance any issue? BBK long tube headers with catted shorty x pipe. Any problems here? Not worried about shake at idle. Between the twin disk clutch and cams doubt any new shake would be noticed.

  • Assuming that you have a 2.3L Whipple with a stock hood if so then it will fit and close, but your strut tower brace is going to need to be replaced by an aftermarket one that clears your Supercharger, should you choose to run one, and I would. When I did my Whipple 2.3L liquid to air S/C on my 2010 GT 4.6L 3V. I used the same Prothane motor mounts except mine were Red. BBK long tubes w/ BBK Hi-Flow Catted X-pipe running to a set of Flowmaster's were added plus the Prothane mounts, the exhaust sounded perfect together . I ordered a GT500 dual fuel pump kit w/ adapter harness, plus I got the 10 lb. pulley also. I drilled and tapped threads on the intake pass. rear side to mount the IAT sensor there to give the computer a more accurate intake air temp. reading. This combo made just under 480 WHP and has way more potential with better fuel, more boost, or nitrous, etc...

    Prothane motor mounts on 05 GT

    To start off I'd like to say these mounts are a gorgeous piece. I opted to get these because of hard shifting from drivetrain flex, I paired them with the a k-member brace (with torque limiters) from CHE. And I must say it really firmed things up. I have had the k-member brace on for a month or so before the mounts, so I could compare just the brace vs brace and prothane mounts. Install was very straightforward just follow directions. I used a phonebook on the jack under the oil pan when i raised the engine. As far as NVH goes I haven't noticed very much, if any vibration after the mounts. Anyways I definitely recommend these, very nice. And as always perfect service from American muscle!

    The Vibes!!

    These motor mounts are great if you are driving a weekend race car, however, if you installing on a daily driver they will drive you crazy. I'm not a fan of vibes at idle, and these sure cause a lot. You can immediately see the improvements they make, but I didn't think sacrificing drive quality was worth it.

    Much better then stock!!

    Installed these over the labor day weekend, install was pretty straight forward. Note: If you have JBA shorty headers it is not possible to remove the rear mount bolt from the top, it must be removed from underneath. After the Prothanes are installed the rear bolt is now visible and easy to get to since the smaller size. Also, the top allen keyed bolt cannot be installed with a regular allen wrench with these headers since one of the primaries are too close to get it on the bolt.

    Prothane Mounts

    I was pretty nervous about getting them, because I heard reviews of them making our cars shake at idle... However, after installing, I see very minimum vibration at idle. It makes shifting and driving in general fun again.

    Massive positive improvement over stock

    These mounts are very outstanding. Before I replaced the stock mounts I would frequently have a loud clunking sound when shifting, and could feel the engine and drivetrain moving around as the load changed. However since installing these mounts the rocking when changing load on the drivetrain and engine has stopped completely. They also give my car a more performance oriented look underneath compared to the stock mounts. I cannot say how difficult these are to install, I had them installed at a shop when I had other work done.

    DO THESE WITH HEADERS!!

    I installed these motor mounts when doing my BBK shorty headers. Killed 2 birds with one stone! I CAN NOT STRESS ENOUGH doing mounts with headers. WORD OF WARNING. when installing these mount with headers. Attach the mount to the bracket and tighten almost all the way. I only say this because there isn't a clear line from the top to tighten, and no clearance with a standard allen wrench either. Had to use a socket head allen with a ratcheting box wrench around the hex part of the socket to tighten down. If you still have OEM headers on, this is a ZERO issue. I don't know if it would be an issue with LT headers, but I am guessing it would be just as bad with them. You should have clear shot from the top. NVH, people freak when they see this, don't!! Is there greater vibration, YES!!! but its good! no Beach Boy jokes! I say good, simply because I feel more "connected" to the motor. I compare it to riding in an old school muscle car. If you want to maintain a more "luxury feel" stay OEM. I will say when at 35 MPH or more at lower rpm you still feel the vibration, but not like at idle/start up at all. I wouldn't hesitate to do a long road trip!!!! 65-75 mph feels like OEM are still installed for the most part(unless you stomp on it) . Some people are more sensitive to vibration so please keep this in mind. The shifting is also improved. 1-2, 2-3 is smoother an less "notchy" feeling. This makes sense, seeing as the new mount keep the engine from "jumping" all around when under load, which of course means the transmission stay put better now too! Great reduction in the drive line "clunk" when hitting the gas at speed. Isn't gone, but with that 2 piece drive shaft you will NEVER 100% eliminate it. It simply seems/feels less harsh, but that could just be me. Don't forget I did headers at the same time so some of my good vibes are a result of that as well, but I'm sure 90-95% of it is from the mounts. Still getting use to it myself, but I love the look on other peoples face who are sitting in the car when I start it. Not one person has felt the vibration was a bad thing. All have said something positive to date.

    Finest Finish

    This product looks very nice but up to date I did not bolt it in because my engine under rebuild process.I hope it could hold the engine weight minimum 300lb + EDELBROCK SC weight 150lb.

    Quality Product

    I have not installed these yet, no hurry because the cars put away for the winter. However these mounts look to be made realy well, and look to be high quality.

    Raw Upgrade

    What you need to know: -These will work on 2011-2014 mustangs (my car is a 2012 GT). -Nicely made. -Moderate NVH increase = you will feel the engine at startup and idle (this is why I say "raw upgrade", which I think is cool); seems to be some natural frequency of the design/material that, at around 2,000 RPM you feel the vibration/firing of the engine and at idle with the AC on (this is what makes this a "moderate" increase to me); otherwise, slight NVH increase otherwise. -I forget I have upgraded mounts until cruising at 2,000 RPM or with the AC on at idle. -Seems to have helped make shifting a little more precise under high power demand.

    speechless

    I had steeda adjustable mounts prior but decided to go for a simpler assy. These by far, incredibly upgraded the feel of the front end. Much more stable. Gear change is a breeze and vibrations not too intense. Power transfer is greatly augmentated. This is one of the best bolt on upgrades I've done. Around 2 hours to get done if you have adequate tooling.
