Improves Handling. Improve the sloppy handling of your Mustang by replacing those old worn out stock rubber bushings with a brand new set of Prothane Steering Rack Bushings for tighter steering response and better overall control.

Polyurethane Construction. Prothane bushings are made from a polyurethane material which is far superior than standard rubber. Polyurethane is unique in that it has the elasticity properties of rubber combined with the durability of metal, making it ideal for suspension bushings.

Application. This set of 4 Prothane Steering Rack Bushings are designed for use on all 1985 to 2004 Mustangs, including the LX, GT, Bullitt, Mach 1 and SVT Cobra.

    Cheap and Effective

For such a small rubber part, these made a huge improvement on my steering. My old ones had worn out and I started having an issue where the steering wheel didn't like to return to center after hard turns. Popped these in in about an hour with a wrench and socket and the handling is much improved!

    Great fit and quality, perfect

Great price and fit perfect. Cant ask for anything more. Firmed up my steering. Pretty easy to install. Pull the bolts holding the rack and the one bolt holding the steering column to get clearance to put in the new suspension bushings and put together backwards. Takes 2 hours.

Great replacement for worn out bushings.

These bushings are awesome. They are very easy to install and are a great replacement for anyone whose factory rubber bushings are worn out like mine were. They eliminated some of the noise form the power steering and seem to be much firmer.

    No more steering creak!

Easy steering upgrade. Eliminated the embarrassing creak when pulling into a parking space and made the steering feel more responsive.

These polyurethane rack bushings make a noticable difference in the response and steering feel of your Mustang with NO increase in NVH. Plus, it's one of the cheapest and easiest upgrades you can make! You won't be disappointed. These cars are all old and the rack bushings could all use a replacement.

    Tighten up steering and cornering

A cheap way to tighten up steering and handling on the front end of the car. Install takes a couple hours in the driveway.

    Well built

Easy replacement as you are replacing your struts. Was a little bit confusing at first as I did not know whether to use the top hats from the old struts. YES, use the old top hats from the old struts.

    my thoughts on this product

Installation wasn't difficult. Unbiased the steering shaft , tie rods , and rack itself overall job took 1 hour. I noticed wear in the original bushing and these definitely made the car steer better. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a cheep and effective mod for their stang. Money well spent

    A must have!

I replaced the rack bushings with stock rubber about 6 years ago and I had an easy time installing them. I didn't even need to unbolt the pinch bolt, to the best of my memory I was able to pull the rack forward enough. After about 6 years the rubber bushings were allowing the rack to move around, very unwanted. I picked up a set of these prothane bushings and I'm very happy with the results. Really tightens up the steering and has a great solid feel. The rack was fighting me this time for some reason so the-install went longer that the first time and I had to unbolt the pinch bolt from the steering shaft to move the rack forward enough. Here's a tip, if you unbolt the rack from the steering shaft, either lock the steering wheel or don't make any kind of massive rotations of the steering wheel. You can mess up the clockspring located behind the steering wheel like I did. Overall great part. Highly recommended, for your mustang.

    Tight!

Took no time to install. I used these and the prothane sway bar bushings and end links at the same time. Major improvement over my 157k stock "mushy" bushings. No longer do I get nervous in curves.

    Made A Difference

These bushings definitely firmed up the steering and ride quality all around. However, I had to order 2 sets because either AM or UPS/FedEx lost the first order. When the bushings didnt show up a few days after the rest of my order, I called AM and they next-day-aired another set of bushings, no questions asked.

    A good stiff

My factory rubber bushings were shot. You could move the steering rack 20 degrees forward or backward pulling and pushing on the steering shaft. Popped the old ones out and forced the new ones in, zero play. Highly recommend these, low price and noticeable steering feel.

Best cheap part I've ever bought

Replaced these on a whim when I had the steering rack out and was amazed at the difference it made; this took so much slop out of the steering it was amazing. Install was easy and straight forward, little bit of grease and a rubber mallet and they were in.
