Description
Improves Ride Quality. The stock factory rubber bushings deteriorate over time causing sloppy handling and poor ride quality, so upgrade your Mustangs suspension with a complete set of Prothane Polyurethane Bushings for more responsive handling and better overall driving performance.

Polyurethane Construction. Prothane bushings are made from a polyurethane material which is far superior than standard rubber. Polyurethane is unique in that it has the elasticity properties of rubber combined with the durability of metal, making it ideal for suspension bushings. Prothane polyurethane bushings will last years longer than standard rubber.

Application. This Prothane Total Mustang Bushing Kit is designed for use on all 1999 to 2004 solid axle Mustangs with stock factory control arms installed, including the V6, GT, Bullitt, and Mach 1. Does not fit 1999-2004 IRS equipped Cobras.

whats the difference between offset bushing and non offset bushings? When replacing steering rack bushings should i go with offset bushings or non offset, whats the difference?

  • Offset bushings are for lowered cars, generally more than 1.5 inches. The idea is the offset moves the steering rack to compensate for the lowering thereby helping to stop bumpsteer. Some people say they help, others say they make a bad situation worse. One thing is for sure poly is much better than rubber.

    Use a torch....

Great product, no instructions, just parts list, not very helpful. Biggest issue was getting the old bushings out of the control arms, a press would not work, my advice; use a torch (responsibly with supervision) to heat them up until they sizzle then tap them out with a hammer and punch...once we got the rhythm down, it went very fast. Also if you are installing these and c/c plates, you will not need the front strut bushings. ALSO, very important, is comes with 2 sets of front LCA bushings, one for hydro bushings (hydraulic fluid inside bushing and additional metal sleeve) and non hydro bushings (all rubber, no inner sleeve), from what I found on the internet, Cobras and 02-04 GTs defiantly have them, but then they were also used randomly on previous years, so it’s weird. Oh yeah and don’t forget to grease the steering rack bushings, even though they don’t come with "super grease" packs, they still need to be greased. Hope this helps the next person.

    Best buy for your bushings!

I was lowering the car and needed isolators for the springs. I figured, since isolators themselves cost a good deal, why not go ahead and get all the bushings in the car for just a bit more. The hardest part of the install was the control arm bushings. Prothane makes a few different styles, so you might be taking out different parts in the arm itself. We struggled trying to press mine in, until we realized an inner metal ring had to come out. The ride stiffened up like crazy, yes there are some rattles. For the handling improvement it's definitely worth it.

This kit was better than expected!

This kit came with every piece of rubber you could wear out in a Mustang suspension. I hadn't realized how bad the ride and performance had dropped off until I drove my car with the new pieces. I am thrilled beyond belief.

A must for suspension upgrades and aging cars

There's not a great deal you can say about this, and it's not one of those typical "improve performance and fuel economy and high speed cornering and free kittens" mods everyone seems to claim to offer. As your bushings wear, you don't quite notice the slop your suspension will acquire over the years. However, when you install these bushings (which are nicer than stock) you'll easily notice that the ride is more crisp and confident, with a familiar "new" feeling. If you're doing any suspension work, or your car is getting older, just bite the bullet and install these. Do not cheap out on your suspension. Totally worth it!

    Transform your Mustang's Suspension

Every car I've had has been refreshed with polyurethane bushings and by far this kit is the best upgrade I've done to my Mustang. Once you get rid of all the squishy stock bushings and put these in, your car will be a bit stiffer and you'll have a much better ride. Couple this kit with a rear sway bar and a good spring and shock/set up and you'll have a car that hangs in the corners a lot better. This kit also comes with spring isolators and those help a lot too, something that doesn't normally come with other name brand bushing kits. Great buy that is worth your time and money.

    WOW

This kit is the best, you feel nothing but brand new pro thane bushings lol...I paired these with H&R lowering springs steed ball joints and bump steer and what an amazing products these bushings are. Should've done this upgrade a long time ago..Nonetheless, the car handles to its peak performance and i love them recommend them to anyone..

    Worth every penny

I had a lot of squeeking in the rear suspension due to the old rubber bushings that were rotted, so I decided to replace all of the bushing with this Prothane bushing kit. This product not only stopped the sqeeking but stiffened the suspension quite a bit. As always AM's free shipping was great and timely.

The handling is night and day from the stock bushings.

The bushings were easy to install and the handling of the bushings coupled with some lowering springs, x2 ball joints, a bump steer kit, and Quality shocks/struts make for an awesome ride. The only thing I suggest is to install grease fittings and use a high quality grease that is water resistant or the bushings will make noise. Also they will require greasing over time. All in all an awesome choice.
