Description
Balances Exhaust Gases. The Pypes Catted X-Pipe is excellent when it comes to balancing out the gas pressures in your exhaust system. This Pypes x-pipe creates more power and torque than a traditional H-pipe. Why? Because the exiting exhaust pulses are merged at the "X", resulting in less exhaust back pressure for more power.

Race Car Growl. This free flowing Pypes x-pipe for the 1979 to 1995 5.0's not only increases power, but it also adds a raspy, race car growl to the sound of your exhaust with its modern "X" crossover pipe design.

Modular Construction. Pypes unique three piece modular construction makes it quick and easy to add or remove catalytic converters to your exhaust system in just minutes, depending on your driving needs.

Durable Stainless Steel Construction. Pypes uses sturdy 16 gauge 409 stainless steel mandrel bent 2.5" tubing for improved exhaust flow and features welded reinforcement plates for additional strength. The included High flow catalytic converters far out perform the restrictive stock factory cats to provide a significant increase in horsepower and torque.

Application. This Pypes Catted X-pipe is designed as a direct bolt-on for the 1979 to 1995 5.0L V8 Mustangs with either aftermarket short tube headers or the stock factory manifolds and a dual catback exhaust installed.

    Street Legal X-Pipe

    Purchased this Street Legal X-Pipe as a replacement for my old worn out H-Pipe setup. It had a small hole at the weld around the X-Pipe connection, but the Exhaust shop repaired it easily. Was able to pass emissions in VA after a few attempts. My Stang has 291K miles on it. Note: This X-Pipe does not come with provisions for the airtube (94-95). The exhaust shop had to remove the inlet tube and attach it from my old H-Pipe.

    Amazing sound!

    I got this installed on my 86 foxbody LX trying to make my V6 a little more beefy and louder. Took it to a local exhaust shop and it ended up taking the guy at least 3 an a half hours to install. He had to cut the ends off of the end where it hooks up to the manifolds and weld some new piping on it to make it fit. It was expected since this was meant for a V8. But boy oh boy when he lowered it down and i first cranked her up...it filled me with so much joy i started giggling to myself! The exhaust note is amazing coming from this pipe. I have it running to an SLP Loudmouth catback system and it sure does make them scream for a V6! I definitely recommend this product to anyone wanting a loud growl from their stang. Can't imagine what it would be like on a V8...

    The sound quality is great, but for the cost of an extra hour's labor to get the Pypes to fit really well, it would have been just as or more cost effective to pay a little extra for a great sounding Flow Master or Magnaflow part, and have it bolt right in the first time without the cost of extra installation time.

    Absolutely love em'!!!!

    I bought these along with the pypes catted x pipe and had my local shop install them. When I got my mustang back, it was louder and sounded a lot nicer than I expected. It's got an amazing rumble and growl type noise, which is a real head turner. I notice so many people turning around and listening as a drive by. I can feel a nice gain in horsepower too! I would definitely recommend these to anyone.

    Plug and Play!!

    This is an amazing exhaust that went right in. When it showed up in smaller boxes I thought it would be hard work but it bolted right in. I used the Flowmaster American Thunder Catback Exhaust (87-93 GT) and Ford Racing Double Hump Adjustable Transmission Crossmember with it. I went home from work with an exhaust leak and plugged cats, tinkered in the garage for an afternoon, and went back the next day turning heads and getting compliments. This is an awesome upgrade at a fantastic price. I won't go anywhere else for parts.
