Upgrade To A True Dual Exhaust. Now you can easily upgrade your V6 Pony to a true dual exhaust with a Pypes Catted X-Pipe. Just install this Pypes X-pipe along with the 1999-2004 GT catback of your choice, to give your Mustang the impressive looks and sound of a GT.

Balances Exhaust Gases. This Pypes catted x-pipe balances out the gas pressures in your exhaust system to create more power and torque than a traditional H-pipe. Why? Because the exiting exhaust pulses are merged at the "X", resulting in less exhaust back pressure for more power.

Modular Construction. Pypes unique three piece modular construction makes it quick and easy to add or remove a catalytic converter to your exhaust system in just minutes depending on your driving needs.

Durable Stainless Steel Construction. Pypes uses sturdy 16 gauge 409 stainless steel mandrel bent 2.5" tubing for improved flow and features welded reinforcement plates for additional strength. The included Catalytic Converters are build from polished 409 stainless and feature a durable Ceramic substrate material making them perfect for naturally aspirated applications.

Application. This Pypes Catted X-Pipe is designed for use on a 1998-2004 V6 Mustangs in combination with an aftermarket or stock factory dual 1999-2004 GT catback exhaust system.

Technical note: Must be used with a stock or aftermarket GT catback exhaust system!

THE SOUND IS AWSOME, INSTALLED IT WITH CATS AND STILL SOUNDED GOOD, NOT SURE IF IT WILL PASS SMOG SENCE I LIVE IN CALI. THE HARDEST PART WAS REMOVING THE STOCK Y PIPE AND THE O2 SENSERS WHERE A B!%#H, AND MAY BE ITS JUST MY STANG, BUT THE LOCATION WHERE THEY PUT THE O2 CONECTION WAS OFF BY 2-3 INCHES HAD TO BUY O2 EXTENSIONS TO GET A GOOD FIT, ITS EASYER IF YOU CAN GET YOUR STANG HIGH ENOUGH TO WORK BETTER UNDER THE CAR, OTHER THEN THAT SOUNDS AWSOME, OK QUALITY, GOOD PACKAGING, AND GREAT SHIPPING FROM AMERICAN MUSCLE.

    Great Sound; Tough Installation

First off, GREAT SOUND ON A V6!!! I installed this pipe (with cats) this past weekend along with BBK chrome shorty headers and a Flowmaster American Thunder Catback with Super 40 Series mufflers. I never thought my 6 banger could sound this great. The shipping was fast, and I got everything AM promised me. Unfortunately, I had problems installing the x-pipe, and this is the only reason I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5. It took two other guys and myself about an hour or so to get the pipe to line up and slide the cats and pipes together and get the clamps on. Either take your car to an exhaust shop for the installation, or be ready to wrestle with it for a while. Also, after you get all the pieces together MAKE SURE you put a floor jack under the x-pipe and lift it up before you tighten up all of the bolts, or you'll have some SERIOUS clearance issues (I didn't do this at first, and I only had about two inches of clearance). After all is said and done, I am more than happy with the sound and performance coming outta my car. My dad and uncle could not believe it when I showed them my car. We put it next to my dad's 96 impala SS (has an LT1 V8 and flowmaster exhaust) and my v6 is louder! Thanks AM.

    BUYERS BEWARE!!!!!!!!

To start American Muscle is awsome and there customer service is great. Pypes on the other hand is very bad. I had bought the catted X-pipe back in march 2009 with an SLP setup. The mechanic I payed to put it on had a tough time getting the X-pipe to fit and he barely got it on. In April of 2010 my check engine light came on and was told that I needed to replace an oxygen sensor. It is know February 2011 and I replaced my oxygen sensor, but my check engine light is still on and the real reason its on is that one of my catalytic converters is bad. With the catalytic converters being under warranty still (5 year warranty), I called Pypes. I told them the problem and they said they would replace it all I had to do is Email them my order invoice and phone number and they would mail me a new one for $15.00 shipping cost. That was 3 weeks ago and I sent them 20 Emails and have tried to call them about it and the person on the other line keeps giving me the run around. I did finally get a hold of someone yesterday and they argued with me that I had to send them the defaulted part before I get a new one. But my main concern was that he told me, "The ceramics inside the catalytic converter's ware down after a few years and its normal." I of coarse would never had bought them if I'd known that and know I'm just trying to warn people about there horrible buisness. I am not going to put some crap on my car and am ordering SLP cats instead. Pypes is a terrible company so buyers beware.
