Great pipes !

I had the pypes x pipes but thought the sound was a little messy. The h pipes really give it that old 5.0 sound

H-Pipe = Classic Muscle Car Rumble

Matched with the Pypes long tube headers and Pype-bomb mufflers, LOUD is the only word to describe! I love the old-school muscle car rumble that a h-pipe delivers. Yes, a x-pipe produces slightly more

  • The main difference is the sound. I have had both an o/r X pipe and an or/ H pipe installed on the same vehicle, and the primary difference is the resonance. The X pipe will give you a raspy-er 'race car' type sound, where the H gives you that deeper muscle-car rumble. HP wise, the prevailing theory is that the X will give you a bit more on the low end. However, we're talking 1-3 hp on the low end of the curve, so unless you're striving to get every available ounce of juice as you reach the four digit mark, the difference is negligible. Basically the difference comes down to what you want your car to sound like, unless, like I said, you've forged everything and are running an F/I system past within an inch of its life, aiming for some un-street-drive-able car. Personally, when I went to the FRPP Hot Rod cams, I made the switch to the H pipe and the thing sounds like a 69 big-block... which was the general goal :) Hope this helps.

Yes, a x-pipe produces slightly more power, but makes a raspy exhaust note as a trade-off. Install was very easy and straight-forward.

    Very cool

Had the O/R X-pipe and while the higher rasp is kinda cool, the sound out of an O/R H is fantastic. Paired this with Pypes LT Headers and Pypes mid-muffler cat back system. The car sings in the deep note of muscle now. Can't even feel the alleged power loss going from X to H is supposed to cause.

    Paired perfect with Long tubes

All i can say is WOW!! I bought the Pypes Off-Road Shorty H-Pipe for my 2005 mustang because i decided i wanted long tubes. I love the sound that my mustang makes now, deep rumble which is just what i wanted. They matched up great with the Pypes Long tubes that i installed at the same time.

    A perfect match

I was looking to remove some of the high pitch exhaust tone I was getting from my O/R X pipe and the shorty H did just that. Love the way my exhaust sounds now!

    H pipe experience

Recently chucked my pypes x pipe and decided to go with the H. I must say I coul not be happier. The note is much deeper and mean. It no longer sounds like it has a coffee can at the end of the pipes. Very happy.
