Whats the diffrence between these and the redline tuning quicklift elite hood struts?

StangManWes

  • Elite is Polished Stainless Steel for a chrome look with Redline Tuning painted on side of tube in red and black, hardware is black powder-coated QuickLift is Black with Redline Tuning painted on side of tube in red and white with Silver Zinc-plated hardware (Hardware Looks Like Stainless Steel) To be honest I liked the look of the black tube with red/white lettering better and is what I purchased (QuickLift) and the price is much more reasonable at $70 as opposed to $120 (Elite) My QuickLift is a quality product, looks great and works as advertised.

fits great with Maximum Motorsport Caster / Camber Plates

I purchased these after the MRT hood strut kit would not clear my Maximum Motorsport caster / camber plates. I was a little hesitant with this kit as you need to drill into your hood to secure it. I have a Cervini hood, and these hoods struts fit pretty good. The only issue you might have is when you close the hood, there is a slight clearance issue with a fender bolt on each side of the car. My drivers' side fit well, but I ended up removing the passenger side so that everything would close properly. I am going to get a carriage bolt with the rounded head to replace the fender bolt on each side of the car. Other than that the brackets mount very securely with the included rivets. Great product overall.

    Quick Lift

This is probably the 5th hood strut kit that I have installed. Always straight forward, easy to install, and only takes about 10-15 min.

Why didn't I do this years ago

These hood struts are excellent. They are functional and have given our Mustang Cobra a better look. I like the wide-open engine access you get without the prop rod in your way.The zinc-plated steel brackets could have been pre-finished in black. Good clear and concise instructions. Good job Redline Tuning

    Easy to install, work great

I installed these on my fully restomodded '89 Fox coupe, they went in very easily and work great. Excellent instructions and pictures to follow along with. A big plus is they open the hood up much farther than the stock prop rod and are not in the way when trying to work on the car. Highly recommended!

Install these, for a childhood smirk!

Awesome is all that is needs to be said. I installed these in 103 Alabama degree weather, no breeze, under small METAL carport, pouring sweat. After an hour and 20 minutes later including tool gathering time. I didn't even realize it was hot out anymore, from the little kid with a new toy smirk it gave me. Shipped quick and fast as always. Thanks again AM!!

    Redline Hood Strut conversion.

I was able to use the struts on my 1983 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe. When adding an intercooler I was unable to mount the stock hood prop. It was a blessing in disguise as I found the 1979 to 1998 Mustang Redline Hood Struts at American Muscle. It was fairly simple to adapt them to the Thunderbird and they work great.
