HOW TO INSTALL RAXIOM FRONT PARKING SENSORS - UNPAINTED (2005-2014 ALL)

Installation Time

2 hours

Tools Required
  • Drill
  • Multimeter
  • Angle meter (most phones have an app to find the angle)

It is recommended that you have an additional person available to help during this installation, parts can be awkward to hold and support by yourself. Block wheels and set parking brake before beginning work. Disconnect the negative (-) battery cable.

RED CIRCLE LOCATION: forward parking alert. GREEN CIRCLE LOCATION: curb alert

Some applications will need the bumper removed to run wires and mount sensors. Be sure everything is clear behind the bumper before drilling. Make sure the wires are kept way from sharp, hot and moving objects. If there is a functionality issue when complete, double check the red wire crimps to make sure they are both engaged into the copper of each wire. Sensors should be installed in the order of 6, 8, 7, 5; starting from the passenger side and moving toward the drivers side.

2015
PARKING ALERT PLACEMENT: Place the (4) sensors across the front of the bumper 12”-16” apart and 20” above the ground.
CURB DETECTION PLACEMENT: Place the (2) snesors 12”-16” apart and 12” above the ground.

After careful measurement, drill a hole into the bumper. Run the wire harness behind the bumper and stick the ends out of the holes to insert the sensors onto.

If the sensor placement is on an angle use the 6 or 12 degree inserts to correct the angle of the sensors so they are perpendicular. Place the sensors on the wire and press them into the bumper.

Install the sensors with the dot pointing upward.

Locate the OBD2 port and attach the yellow wire to the back of the pin 6 wire and the green wire to the back of the pin 14 wire, using the included red wire taps.

Plug the sensors, speaker and wire harness into the control module.

Make sure your 12V power outlet turns off with the key removed, then attach the red wire to the positive side and the black wire to the negative side using the supplied wire taps. If the 12V outlet power stays on when the key is removed an alternate power source will need to be found. Anything that turns on with the key and off with the key removed will be suitable.

Adjust the speaker to hi, low or off and mount it in an accessible location where the audible signal can be heard clearly. Clean the mounting area with rubbing alcohol and place the speaker onto it wiht the supplied adhesive strip. mount the control module in a safe area where it won’t get wet, kicked, stepped on or damaged. Also make sure it is away from the area of the pedals to prevent interference.
