How to install a Raxiom LED Tail Light Conversion Kit w/ Resistors on your 1996-2004 Mustang excludi

Tools Required:

 Trim Fastener Removal Tool
 7/16 deep well socket
 Ratchet
 Drill
 3/32 drill bit
 Flat blade or Phillips screwdriver
 Pliers

Please Note: This installation was on a 2003 Cobra. I cannot guarantee the wiring on any other model or year will be the same.

To Begin Installation:

1. Open trunk and remove the (4) plastic fasteners holding the trunk latch trim cover using the trim fastener removal tool.

2. Remove trunk latch trim cover.

3. Remove (2) grocery net hooks located on either side of the back trunk lining by unscrewing them by hand.

4. Remove back trunk lining.

5. Remove (4) nuts from studs holding tail lights using 7/16 socket and ratchet.

6. Remove tail light and replace bulbs with LED bulbs. Set tail light back in place but do not reinstall retaining nuts at this time.

7. Locate plastic plug connector inside of trunk near one stud in recess.

8. Connect one wire of resistor to the green wire and one to the black wire using supplied connector.

9. Find a place to secure resistor inside trunk away from contact with anything as they become VERY warm. Once a location is found, mount by drilling a pilot hole and securing with supplied screws.

10. Repeat for other side.

11. Once everything is installed and secure, test running lights, brake lights and blinkers.

12. If any of the bulbs are not working, remove and reinstall after flipping the bulb around.

13. After everything works, replace nuts to secure tail lights, replace trunk lining, grocery hooks, trunk latch trim and plastic fasteners. You’re done!
