How to Install a Raxiom Reverse Light LED Conversion Kit in your 2005-2005 Mustang

Installation Instructions:

1) Open the trunk

2) Remove two tabs on either side of trunk latch, a screw driver might make this easier.

3) Remove two plugs on either side of the trunk liner by the opening.

4) Remove the plastic trunk liner to provide space to work.

5) Remove (3) nuts holding the driver side taillight in place. No tools are necessary for this; however if they’re a little tight at first, use an adjustable wrench to loosen them up. Then they can be removed just by turning them with your hand.

6) Carefully remove the taillight housing out from its place, do be careful not to scratch your bumper.

7) The small plug at the bottom is the one for the reverse light. Twist it to pop it out; the adjustable wrench may be needed again if it is tight.

8) Carefully pull the bulb to remove it.

9) Replace the empty socket with 1 LED bulb.

10) Replace the socket with the LED installed into the taillight housing; use the wrench to twist it into place if necessary.

11) Replace the taillight housing back into the car – NOTE: Do not screw the nuts to secure the light housing back in yet, testing and adjustments may be needed.

12) Repeat above steps on the passenger side taillight.

Once the LED bulbs are both installed and the taillight housing is back in, we will test the connection on the next page…

TESTING THE LEDs

• Sit in the driver seat and turn the ignition on

          o For Automatic Transmission:

                      Pull back E-Brake while foot is on brake and shift car into Reverse.                                Make sure when you take your foot off, the car is in gear and the E-                                Brake is securely on so the car doesn’t move

 Go outside and take a look…

 If both LEDs are on: Congrats, you’re done. Turn car off and secure the nuts on the back of the taillight housing in the trunk.

 If 1 or both LEDs are off: 1) Turn off car. 2) Remove the LED bulb from the socket. 3) Rotate it 180 degrees then reinstall it into the socket -- NOTE: Do not do the above troubleshooting step while the car is on. The engine/electrical system must be off on all test attempts or else the LEDs may malfunction.

 Test Again

o For Manual Transmission:

 Have a friend assist you to make sure both lights are on when you shift into Reverse.

 If both LEDs are on: Congrats, you’re done. Turn car off and secure the nuts on the back of the taillight housing in the trunk.

 If 1 or both LEDs are off: 1) Turn off car. 2) Remove the LED bulb from the socket. 3) Rotate it 180 degrees then reinstall it into the socket.
