How to Install a GT/CS (California Special) Spoiler on Your 2010-2014 Mustang

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR
PAINTED GT/CS REAR SPOILER (2010 - 2014)


Tools Required:

► Flat Head Screwdriver
► Phillips Head Screwdriver
► Ratchet & 10mm Socket
► Masking Tape
► Plastic Putty Knife
► Adhesive Remover
► Heat Gun
► Electric Drill & ¼” Bit


STEP 1

Remove the 13 plastic clips holding the trunk
liner to the trunk lid. Simply pull out on them
and they will pop right out. Once loose,
remove the trunk liner.


STEP 2

Use a at head screwdriver to remove the two
plastic caps shown below.


STEP 3

Use a 10mm socket to remove the 4 nuts
holding the factory spoiler on.


STEP 4 


Use a heat gun around the edges of the
factory spoiler to loosen the adhesive. It may
also help to gently pry the spoiler up and run
around the edges with a razor blade as
shown. Once the adhesive is loose, remove
the factory spoiler form the vehicle.


STEP 5


Use a quality adhesive remover and a plastic
putty knife or squeegee to remove the left
over adhesive.


STEP 6


Lay the new spoiler on a at surface and place
the included foam pads on the four pedestals
as shown. Remove the adhesive backing from
the eight included drill template strips and
place them over the holes as shown.


STEP 7 


Place the spoiler on the decklid making sure
to align the four rearward holes on the new
spoiler with the factory holes in the decklid.
Once properly located, use masking tape to
tape the template strips to the decklid as
shown.


STEP 8 


Remove the spoiler from the decklid leaving
the templates in place. Using a ¼ drill bit, drill
the four forward-most holes as shown.


STEP 9


Once the holes are drilled, removed the
templates and place the spoiler on the decklid.
Secure using the eight supplied Phillips
head screws. Replace trunk liner removed in
step 1.
