Review & Install Video

Hey, Justin here with, taking a closer look at the RTR front chin spoiler and splitter fitting all 2010 and 2012 Mustang GTs. As a big fan of Vaughn Gittin Jr. and his Ready to Rock drift Mustang, I’m excited to be checking out these appearance parts from the RTR package, starting with this chin spoiler and splitter combo. Taking a closer look at what we have here you can see we have three different parts which make up the complete package. We have the actual chin spoiler itself, the lower splitter portion, and finally these race inspired splitter support bars. Both the chin spoiler and the splitter are made from rugged, injection molded urethane, and feature this grain like texture which just gives everything a little more character. Finally, the entire package is really brought together, thanks to the addition of these splitter support bars, that as you can see, really give the front end of the car a race car inspired look. As for the install, we’re going to call this one 2 hours from start to finish just to be safe, the install itself is not all that hard but it does include a lot of steps, such as relocating your factory horns. The detailed instructions will lay all this out for you very clearly, a little tip before you get started, you can install this splitter with the car still on the ground, but I will say getting the front of the car up in the air a little bit will give you much more room to work. So if you’re like me, and you really dig what Vaughn Gittin Jr. has done with his signature Mustang, then add some of that RTR flavor to your ride starting with this chin spoiler combo available right here at

Will this fit with the Roush front fascia? I have a 2012 Roush Stage 1 Mustang; will this fit the Roush front fascia? Can I layer this with the existing Roush front splitter I have?

  • Its possible to make it fit but it wont look right or be a direct fit with your roush front bumper. Your better off getting the boss splitter and putting that on. It will look better and be easier to retrofit to your fasia. Hope this helps.

Will this fit the California GT/CS front Bottom fog lights? Will the front chin spoiler work with the Ford California edition bottom fog lights? Or will you have to remove them to apply the spoiler?

  • This will take the place of the California edition fascia

Will this product fit on a 2012 V6 model somehow? I don't think there is that much of a difference in the body of the V6 and the GT model so would this fit on the V6 as well?

  • Unfortunately, this RTR Front Chin Spoiler will not fit on the V6 unless you have a GT front conversion.

This product looks great! Installed it myself on my 2011 V6 (with GT front conversion) and was pretty straight foward. Instructions are really vague and don't include many needed steps, but the install is pretty simple even with out the written steps. Really makes your mustang stand out of the rest of the herd. Really unique, muscular, aggressive look. Worth every penny. Highly recommended.

    Don't drive thru big puddles

First off, I've had the chin spoiler on my car for a few months now. I love the look of it on my 1" lowered 2012 GT. I've gotten lot's of compliments on the spoiler and it really stands out! I've been careful going over bumps and dips. The spoiler has scraped lightly a few times but no bid deal, Panama City is basically flat... We've had a lot of rain and yesterday it rainer hard! I encountered a puddle about 6-8" deep at about 20-25 mph and all the sudden the splitter was pulled off the spoiler and jammed under the car. An hour later when the rain stopped and my wife brought me some jacks from the shop, I got the splitter out from under the car... Splitter and hardware appear unsalvageable... Not sure what to do next but anyone with this set up should be careful about driving thru water because it can and will rip the splitter off the bottom of the spoiler... Luckily, the spoiler and car were undamaged!

Finishes the front profile of the 2012 GT

Nice combination spoiler\splitter for the 2012 GT. I fussed trying to find the right style and appearance in the spoilers that were available...a plain splitter was not really what I liked. My son and I installed this in 1.5hrs with everything going together as billed. The instructions were not clear on this but definitely assemble and tighten the top two splitter support rods before putting the assembly on the car. Not reachable after the install. This RTR Chin Spoiler finishes the look of the front end of my car

    Looks and Fits Great

This kit comes in four pieces; the lower valence, the splitter, and the two splitter support rods. It also comes with plastic body pin rivets to attach the splitter to the chin. At first I thought they wouldn't hold, but after over a hundred passes down the quarter mile trapping over 120 mph and reaching speeds as high as 160 mph, they have held extremely well with no issues. The only tools you need are a Phillips Head screw driver to tighten the rivets and the screws in the wheel well, and an allen wrench to tighten the splitter support rods. The rest just snaps into place on the front end. It is held around the outside by sturdy 3M body tape. I recommend cleaning where they will stick with alcohol wipes to ensure it sticks well. As a bonus, at higher speeds it actually feels more planted in the front end. For not being a true race car splitter, it does its job well. Highly recommend.

    Awesome addition

What a difference! Installed the RTR chin spoiler/splitter in a little less than two hours and changed the whole look of the car. Looked at every other option out there, spoke with some other gears heads, went on some forums and decided on this front end. More than happy with my decision and the final result after install. Highly recommend this product.

    Great appearance, AMAZING FIT

I started out taking photos so I could write an install guide. The included instructions were very straightforward and quite precise. The removal of the stock part was simple and the entire install took an hour and a half. The new park popped in and snugged up with all hardware lining back up (which is a rarity). I will be submitting a photo of the install when the sun come up!!!

    Bringing that Something Special ingredient

This really toughened up the look of the front end, and added that intangible element that truly means muscle car. The chin spoiler by itself was nice, but the addition of the splitter with push rods enhanced the whole thing incredibly.

    2011 Mustang GT install

Instructions were lacking enough detail , vague .Final appearance makes up for it . Gives the car a race car ,oval track appearance , suttle , yet formidable .Surface after painting does show minor structural bleed through flaws on a black paint job that I chose . People compliment and take pictures . Overall satisfied , a little pricey .
