Justin: Hey everybody, I'm Justin with AmericanMuscle.com, and I'm here with Vaughn Gittin Jr. to talk to you guys a little bit more about the '05 to '14 RTR Tactical Performance lowering springs for your S197. Now Vaughn, a lot of people at home might not even know the basic purposes of a spring on their Mustang. Can you break that down?Vaughn: Yeah, to put it quite simply, springs essentially hold the car up, define ride height, and help control weight transfer of the car.Justin: Very cool. Now when you and your team were developing the Tactical Performance lowering springs for the S197, what was your main objective?Vaughn: For us, ride quality is extremely important. We want you to enjoy driving your car on the street, but also have some tracking capability. So, we wanted a spring that wasn't too harsh, but was going to give you a significant increase in feel of performance behind the wheel, and now we achieved that 100%.Justin: Very cool. Now let's go over some of the specifics here. Now, 1½" drop all around, correct, a progressive rate spring, so that's going to give you that better ride on the road.Vaughn: Yeah, exactly, and that's exactly how we achieved that, you know. The car rides at a certain rate when it's under standard conditions, but as soon as the car starts to roll over, that rate gets progressive, increases a little bit, and that's when you start really getting the springs holding the car up, and get that more crisp feel and get the car listening to you a lot earlier on your inputs.Justin: Now, overall guys, spring install, again, not that bad. Leave yourself about a half a day in the garage to get this one knocked out. Again, you don't want to forget your spring compressor on this one, absolutely needed. The RTR Tactical Performance lowering springs, again, for your S197, you can grab them and the rest of the RTR line-up right here at AmericanMuscle.com.
