Shelby Styling. The Carroll Shelby Hood Latch & Pin Kit's classic retro 60's styling looks great on the any 2005 to 2009 Mustang. This is the same style latch kit used by early drag racers on their Mustangs, only now with a modern Shelby twist. Safety. The Shelby Performance Parts Hood Latch & Pin Kit not only looks great, but also adds extra safety to any high performance Mustang. The Hood Latch & Pin Kit securely pins the hood safely to the car to prevent the hood from lifting or flying off at high speeds, a must for all drag racers.

Won't Harm Paint. Shelby Performance has taken the extra step to coat the lanyards in flexible plastic to protect your hood's paint from unnecessary scratches.

Solid Construction. The Shelby Hood Pin Kit is made from durable 6061-T6 billet aluminum that is precision machined and black anodized for strength and long life.

Application. This Shelby Hood Latch & Pin kit is specifically designed to be used on the 2005 to 2009 Mustangs with the original stock hood or an aftermarket fiberglass hood. Nice hood pins. Fairly easy install. I used a step up drill bit and everything went pretty smooth. The only thing I didn't like is that the kit did not include hardware to attach the cables to the inside

  • Yes u have two options you can use the bracket for normal install or use bumper stops and drill and mod on existing holes where the rubber stops are

Is this compatible with my after-market hood? I have a Cervini Concept after market hood with the ram air option. I'd like to add hood pins, but the curve of my hood is different at the install location shown on the photos.

  • I have the cervini's concept ram air hood. They do fit, a little massaging is needed due to the angle of the hood there. A small stone grinder on a drill helped.

    Perfecto choice

    October 03, 2011

I have a carbon fiber hood, so it was a little bit more work to install it, fits perfectly, 100% functional in my case cause air used to lift my hood in highways, should have a rubber guide base or something to drill it easier though.

    Shelby Black Hood Pin Kit

    January 22, 2011

Nice quality product. Not made cheeply at all. Great agressive look. Pretty easy install, with right tools assembled, took me about 45 min. Only downfall is the kit does not include screws to mount the cable wires and no instructions were included. AM DOES have a set of instructions online that work just fine though. Overall, a great buy from American Muscle.

    Great Hood Pins

    February 03, 2012

These hood pins are fabulous. Took me the afternoon to install and I put them on a 2000 Mustang. I posted a picture but not sure if they will publish it since these are advertised for 05-09. They are quality made and look great. Mine are used with an aftermarket hood and needed the functionality more than the looks but the looks are just icing on the cake. Thank you AM.

    Look Great!

These pins look great. Takes some ingenuity to install, use your judgement wisely! But the results are fantastic, these are the real deal and will keep your hood down tight during those evil rocket runs!!!

Drill holes through the hood? Why not?

    February 21, 2014

The first thing I noticed when I opened the package was that these hood pins are quite a bit beefier than the pictures give them credit for, that was a big plus. The sinking feeling you get when you start to drill holes through the hood of a Shelby on the other hand is a bit less thrilling. The install could definitely be done in an hour or less, but only by someone who had done this once or twice before; the online instructions suggested using grease to mark the contact point of the pins then drill it from the bottom, then drill from the top down to match. In hind sight their are certainly better and cleaner ways to go about it. My recommendation is to use the grease to mark all three layers of the hood from the bottom then drill them one at a time, this would ensure a better alignment and less of a screeching metal on metal noise. Also do your best not to drop the bolt from the pin in front of your radiator, the bolt is barely magnetic and you will need to remove the splitter to get it out. Despite the embarrassingly difficult installation, the end result was undeniably a beautiful looking addition to my car.
