Description
Ideal Replacement. Your Mustang is putting down serious horsepower and torque, but is your clutch able to handle it? If your clutch is starting to slip, or you're starting to smell that signature "burnt" clutch smell, it's probably time for a replacement. SPEC Clutches are the perfect choice that will improve your drivetrain's ability to handle power and perform reliably.

Daily Driver Friendly. This SPEC Stage 1 Clutch is designed for bolt-on naturally aspirated and mildly modified forced induction engines. It's best suited to 'Stangs that see daily driver duty and occasional track use, since it offers the most friendly pedal feel combined with SPEC's legendary durability.

Premium Quality. The SPEC Stage 1 Clutch offers all the features you need from a more powerful clutch with superior driveability. SPEC Stage 1 Clutches feature their signature high clamp pressure plate combined with a steel-backed and multi-compound woven organic material disc and high torque sprung hub. Like with all SPEC Clutches, a tool kit is included for easy installation.

Value, Performance, Durability. When looking for a new clutch, trust Spec for the best in value and performance.

  • You don't have to just find a machine shop to resurface the contact surface. But if your goin to spend the money for an upgraded clutch and pressure plate it's a good idea to buy a light weight flywheel.

i just finished installing my new spec clutch & flywheel it took about 12 hours to finish it. i recommend a hoist for this. i did it in my shop with jacks and it was a pain. clutch difference from stock is huge. it makes a little bit of noise when in low rpms. overall a good clutch but good luck on the install!

    Manufacture problem

Installed the clutch no problem, running great for at least 1 week. I then notice a squeaking sound coming from the clutch area. I go to park my car and the clutch gets stuck in reverse, then wont go into any gears. Ford dealership said it was a clutch problem and it needs to be replaced. Spec is not helping in any other way but providing a new clutch after they determine it is in fact a clutch problem. total cost for me over 2k, for parts and labor. I also been with out my car for a week, and will have to wait at least another two weeks for everything thing to be installed and back to normal. I PCS in less then 30 day :(

    Great clutch for light mods!!

Perfect for my application! The parts fit perfectly and as long as you dont get an O2 wire pinched between the bell housing and the block when you put it all back together the install is smooth and should take about 8 hours if you've never done it before. I did have to buy a new slave cylinder and pilot bearing separately though. Would have been nice if it was all one kit. But it made the clutch feel much lighter and I can actually feel where the release is now. Make sure to do the 500 mile wear in though. Very important! Overall Im very happy with it and ended up getting a better clutch for half of what Ford wanted to give me a stock one.
