Description
Improves Handling Performance. Improve your Mustang's handling performance by reinforcing your rear shock towers with a SR Performance rear shock tower brace. A SR rear shock tower brace will stiffen your Mustang's chassis to reduce suspension flex and improve traction for impressive corner carving handling.

Superior Construction. The SR Performance Mustang Rear Shock Tower Brace is made from heavy duty tubular steel to keep your rear end from flexing under g-load and is completed in a textured black powder coated finish for aggressive good looks and long lasting corrosion resistance.

Application. The SR Performance Rear Shock Tower Brace is designed to fit all 2005 to 2014 Mustangs, including the V6, GT, Bullitt, BOSS, and Shelby GT500 models. Does not fit Mustangs with the Shaker 1000 sound system. Technical Notes. Some modifications and welding may be required for installation. All models will require trimming of factory inner trunk liner.

Will this tower brace fit in a 2014 Mustang GT Premium that come with the Shaker Sound System? The subwoofer is in the truck wear the tower brace is located.

  • If its where it mounts then it wont work.. Some shakers are mounted on the roof of the trunk and not the sides, so it should be fine if its like that.

Brace went in easy and fits almost flat in the Trunk. It does NOT take up too much trunk space, so your trunk remains functional. Haven't driven the car much since I put the brace in, so I don't have an opinion on how much of a difference there is on handling with versus with out....

    Serves its purpose well...

Looks good and was pretty easy to install. Also gives me a reason to open my trunk when showing off the car hahaha. I also installed the Eibach Pro-System-Plus at the smae time and had to make some minoe modifications to teh rubber washers included with this kit. No welding required.

    Decent Product

This rear brace doesnt fit very flush on my 2012 5.0, may need to do a little bending on the brace if your very particular. I feel a little less roll in the back on cornering. Not a bad product

It couldn't hurt (but it might not do anything)

I wondered if this part would be useful in a daily driver. Since my car is a convertible and I'd already installed the Boss 302 front shock tower brace (which I recommend) I figured I'd roll the dice on the rear brace. Ford doesn't make one and I thought the Shelby part was overpriced for the finished part so I went with the black SR rear brace. It appears to be sturdy and the part has a uniform powder coated finish. Install would have been a breeze if the fit was better; I had to bend the flanges slightly to get the brace to sit flush on the towers. [If you have the Cargo Area Protector covering your trunk floor, make sure you replace it under the brace before you bolt the part down. I didn't and there's not enough of a gap between the installed brace and the trunk floor to slide the protector back into place.] You will find yourself trimming the side trunk lining material that bunches up over the brace mounts -- not a big deal if you have a Sharpie and an exacto knife. After about a week of driving after the install, I haven't noticed any difference except maybe a slight increase in ride harshness over potholes and uneven pavement. (The front brace made the car noticeably tighter in turns.) No regrets about the purchase -- I was fully aware that I might be buying a big metal placebo.

    a little extra

I installed this on my 2006 v6. I had already installed a front strut tower brace, so I didn't feel a huge difference, but I did feel some. I'm very happy with it as an addition to improved handling.

    Rear shock tower brace

Easy install, just be patient and keep the retaining nut at the top of your shock tower still while removing the larger but underneath of it. Install should take about an hour depending on initial fitment. For me it did not for very exact, so I used a mallet to hammer down the metal tabs that suround the mount of the brace till it form for around the tower (extra 30 min) but so worth it. All in all a good product. definitely a good pair up mod with the front strut tower brace from SR, and it really eliminates all that unwanted body roll that s197 owners experience. I recommend to anyone who already has a front strut tower brace. Thanks AM for all the help I'll be back to buy again...and again..and again

    Super easy install

This is a very nice piece and mathes the front SR tower brace nicely. Installing this takes a half hour or less, trimming the sides of the trunk liner is probably the hardest part if you are like me and want it done nicely. As far as handling any better, well I really can not tell but I'm sure it does tie in the rear end a bit but it sure does look nice when the trunk is open. I do recomend this product.
