Description
Improves Handling Performance. Improve your Mustang's handling performance by reinforcing your rear shock towers with a SR Performance rear shock tower brace. A SR rear shock tower brace will stiffen your Mustang's chassis to reduce suspension flex and improve traction for impressive corner carving handling.

Superior Construction. The SR Performance Mustang Rear Shock Tower Brace is made from heavy duty tubular steel to keep your rear end from flexing under g-load and is completed in a textured black powder coated finish for aggressive good looks and long lasting corrosion resistance.

Application. The SR Performance Rear Shock Tower Brace is designed to fit all 1979 to 2004 Mustangs, including the LX, V6, GT, Bullitt, Mach 1, and SVT Cobra models. Technical Notes. Some modifications and welding may be required for installation. 1979-1993 hatch back will require light trimming of factory inner quarter panel sight plugs over rear shocks. All other models will require trimming of factory inner trunk liner.

sr rear strut brace

Had to jack my car up a bit on one side to get proper fit, otherwise no problems. Notice a difference in handling straight away.

Does this fit a 1983 Mustang GLX Convertible? Trunk seems a lot smaller with the convertible top storage. Not sure about accessing the shock towers inside for installation.

    SR performance rear tower brace

its too short for a 2003 mach1, photos are uploaded, the brace is approx 1/4 in short on both sides to meet up with the shock housing, if this is normal and accepted then its still short, no way can this be welded except with an extra piece of metal to fill the gap. love you AM, but this is the last sr performance part i will regret to order., if i am wrong, ok, but see my pics then you decide if you want this part, its too short. remeasure.

    Right on!

I own a convertible so I need as much bracing as I can find. This fits perfectly on the rear shock towers and stays hidden behind the trunk matting. This does not interfere with my trunk space or when I lower the rag top. I do notice the different and compliments the other bracing that I added prior to this one.

    Nice quality piece

I installed this in under an hour , I don't know if it makes a difference yet , but I figure any extra bracing on a convertible can't hurt . It certainly feels sturdy and I can rock the car back and forth by grabbing the brace .

    Rear Tower Brace

This is a pretty cheap and simple product to install and use to help tighten up your rear. To realize the full benefits, weld it in. While you will not notice much difference in normal driving, this piece helps keep your rear planted under hard cornering.

    Good Product, good price

Improved stability and reduced convertible squeaks and rattles. Installation took about 30 minutes. I had to trim both trunk side covers and the front trunk cover. No fitment issues but it took a bit of effort to get it fully seated on the shock bushings. Plan to weld it in this winter.

    2001 Mustang GT

I bought this while it was on sale this month, I got it in the mail and it looked good. The next morning I decided to install it and followed the directions and it took about 1 hr. In the picture it was flush around the frame and strut but on my car it was not flush on the frame. I had a half an inch gap on both sides and took it out. It did help a little but it did not fit well, would be nice if it fit correctly..

    Shock tower brace

Took me a while to install by myself but once you get it it's easy sailing. Only had it on for a day and I already feel less body roll and it's pretty low profile in the trunk. Got it on sale so I'm happy.

    Cool mod

This is a good little addition to your stang for the price. I suggest welding this in for better reinforcement.
