Improves Horsepower. This SR Performance Cold Air Intake kit completely replaces the restrictive stock factory air box and paper filter element in your 1989-1993 5.0 mustang with a high flow filter assembly for a noticeable increase in horsepower and throttle response while filtering out harmful power robbing dust particles. This SR CAI pulls cooler denser air from inside the inner fender well to make more power that you can feel.

Reusable Filter. Included in this kit is a SR Performance High Flow reusable air filter. So no need to go out and buy a new filter every few thousand miles. Just clean the filter, re-oil it, save money, and go!
Powder Coated Finish. The SR Performance Cold Air Intake not only improves horsepower and acceleration, but it also improves your mustangs under hood appearance with a striking black powdered coated finish. Now you can have the best of both worlds, performance and style.

Simple Install. The SR Performance Cold Air Intake kit is relatively easy to install with only basic hand tools needed. No extra modifications are required for the installation. See the video below for an overview of the basic installation process.

Technical Note. The Mass Airflow Housing and Sensor are not included. This kit is designed to reuse the stock factory unit.

What size mass air flow meters will work with this intake? When looking at mass airflow meters they talk about the different sizes anywhere from 55mm to 80mm. Is this intake comadable with the different size meters?

  • Which MAF to use depends on your setup, I went more of a street car, just fun to drive, so 70mm is the most I would need. If you got BIG plans you want to go bigger. As for fitting, if the provided rubber mounts don't fit, just hit Autozone and purchase the ones that do.

  • It is mostly the name that you are purchasing. They both are aluminum tubes, painted-polished-chromed, both 3 1/2 inch tubing, you can see there are different filters but both can be cleaned and reoiled. Both can come with the fender mount, BUT two different companies, whose name is bigger than the other.

    Not bad! different!

I have been looking for a cold air intake for my mustang for a bit. Did not want the typical chrome one that most have, so i went for this one as its blacked out. for looks the product delivers, it looks great! I would like to have seen better quality rubber material in the couplers, and the intake tube that connects to the throttle body to be a 1/4 to half inch bigger to support more horsepower. but for the price of the product? you cant beat it.

    Looks good under the hood

    January 06, 2012

Wanted an intake that wasn't chrome and found this gloss black one. Really nice and matches my black 5.0. Gains are a noticeable. Hopefully when I get a tune I can get a lil more outa it. Good product tho. Took a while to put in. No instructions. But just looked at pics people posted and worked fine.

great alternative to more expensive cold airs

    October 14, 2011

being made of aluminum this doesn't hold the heat that the chrome plated steel intakes do. this is very important for a cold air, and i definitely recommend this over many other cold airs

    Good quality product

    November 07, 2013

Fit my 92 gt pretty good. I like the black powercoat has a texture finish which prevents scratches. Power gain probably like 5-8hp. Can't beat the low prices compared to other more popular name brands, it does the same thing. Good product

    decent cai

    July 17, 2010

good kit over all clamps are a little annoying to work with and the couplers are cheap rubber powdercoat scratches easily if you have the egr equipped, the kit seems to interfere with the shocktower. didnt like the chrome bbk kit, the black look of this kit and the price drew me to it.

stack racing 5.0 cold air intake

    October 14, 2010

Very easy to install in about 30 min. It looks nice the only thing I didnt like was the elbow coming out of the throttle body didn't line up right and it rubbed on the shock tower over all great intake for the cost

    Great product

    October 14, 2010

I liked the product in and out the box. Installation was straight forward. However, instructions for serving aircleaner were not included. Performance is about the same as a K&N or BBK setup but much better looking.

    Stack Racing Cold Air Intake

    October 14, 2010

I like the Stack Racing Cold Air Intake. Seems to function well and looks great. It was fairly easy to install, however there were no directions with it. I didn't know about the MAF relocation bracket until my tubes didn't line up. Once I figured that out, it worked out well.
