A SR rear shock tower brace will stiffen your Mustang's chassis to reduce suspension flex and improve traction for impressive corner carving handling.

Superior Construction. The SR Performance Mustang Rear Shock Tower Brace is made from heavy duty tubular steel to keep your rear end from flexing under g-load and is completed in a durable triple plated chrome finish for classic good looks and long lasting corrosion resistance.

Application. The SR Performance Rear Shock Tower Brace is designed to fit all 2005 to 2014 Mustangs, including the V6, GT, Bullitt, BOSS, and Shelby GT500 models. Does

not fit Mustangs with the Shaker 1000 sound system.Technical Notes. Some modifications and welding may be required for installation. All models will require trimming of factory inner trunk liner.

    Great product! Impact Wrench Recommended

    I bought this after buying and installing SR's front strut tower brace. Unlike that kit, the rear brace came fully assembled, which was a relief because I didn't have to put in each tiny bolt and nut for the chrome centerpiece. As with the front one, this rear shock tower brace also comes with complete instructions with color photos--an impressive feature. However, they recommend you use a 17mm socket wrench on the nut and an 8mm on the shaft of the shock. Not having either of those in my box wrenches, I spent roughly another $100 in ratchet kits because none of them had the complete range at Sears. When I go to use the 17 and 8mm, I find what is actually needed is a 15mm and a 7mm. Mildly frustrating, but at least I had bought the kit instead of the single wrenches. Unfortunately, the shaft above the shock threads was round, and even after hammering the ratchet onto it, the post would just spin after turning the nut. It was obvious more torque than what hand movements can provide would loosen it and my air compressor was broken. I sent it to the shop and they had it on in an hour. $30 with delivery. It pays to have a friend who owns a garage, or a working impact wrench. All said and done, the product looks great in the trunk and stiffens the rear of the chassis to where I'm far more comfortable passing Chevys in the twisties.

    Tower brace

    Nice product, will help with rear tire plant on road, sweet! The competion will never know why your car is so good! Wife liked the way it looked in car, it made her feel like the car was BAD!

    Decent Product

    This rear brace doesnt fit very flush on my 2012 5.0, may need to do a little bending on the brace if your very particular. I feel a little less roll in the back on cornering. Not a bad product

    I wondered if this part would be useful in a daily driver. Since my car is a convertible and I'd already installed the Boss 302 front shock tower brace (which I recommend) I figured I'd roll the dice on the rear brace. Ford doesn't make one and I thought the Shelby part was overpriced for the finished part so I went with the black SR rear brace. It appears to be sturdy and the part has a uniform powder coated finish. Install would have been a breeze if the fit was better; I had to bend the flanges slightly to get the brace to sit flush on the towers. [If you have the Cargo Area Protector covering your trunk floor, make sure you replace it under the brace before you bolt the part down. I didn't and there's not enough of a gap between the installed brace and the trunk floor to slide the protector back into place.] You will find yourself trimming the side trunk lining material that bunches up over the brace mounts -- not a big deal if you have a Sharpie and an exacto knife. After about a week of driving after the install, I haven't noticed any difference except maybe a slight increase in ride harshness over potholes and uneven pavement. (The front brace made the car noticeably tighter in turns.) No regrets about the purchase -- I was fully aware that I might be buying a big metal placebo.

    Balanced Handling

    The SR Performance Rear Shock Tower Brace - Chrome provides the balance to the Front Strut Tower (Factory) on car and allows the rear shock tower to be stabilized and load the rear tire for a balanced neutral handling response. It was a BOLT ON item and it worked. We added Body Panel Epoxy to strengthen the bond and it prevents any flex on the shock shaft. The stiffer the chassis the more it loads the tire and allows the tire contact patch to maximize its performance. This also allows the shocks and springs to provide compliance to the road surface and prevents the stiff shock bounce many Mustangs have. Great product with clear instructions and provides more then promised in performance.

    better handling around corners

    this brace makes the car handle better going corners feels more planted. just make sure you have the front one first.

    a little extra

    I installed this on my 2006 v6. I had already installed a front strut tower brace, so I didn't feel a huge difference, but I did feel some. I'm very happy with it as an addition to improved handling.

    Looks nice, holes wrong location

    The brace has a nice finish and looks strong. The holes were too close together and I had to elongate them to get it to fit. Used metal epoxy to ensure strong connection that did not rely on just the shocks (and yes that means sanding off your paint). Main improvement I noticed was less creaks from the back end, since I already have the factory performance package.

    Will not work with Shacker Radio Sub Amp.

    Its very well made and will look good in your trunk. If it came in black I would have modified it to slide under the power amp.
