Hey guys, Stephanie with AmericanMuscle.com checking out a fast and surefire way to stiffen up the front end of your 2005 to 2010 Mustang GT with this SR Performance Black Strut Tower Brace. SR Performance is a name that every Mustang owner should be familiar with by now thanks in part to their wide selection of performance and suspension components with prices that aren't going to break the bank. If you'd like to check out more from SR Performance for your Mustang, you can always head back to the website and check out SR Performance under the featured brand section of the homepage. This SR performance strut tower brace has a tubular design that does an excellent job of reducing chassis flex and body roll without creating a harsh feeling in your suspension. It gives the car a more connected feeling instead of pushing or floating. It's also constructed from an aircraft grade Chromoly steel tubing and it's power coated black, which means it'll look great under the hood and give you daily driver cars protection from the elements. If you'd like to see more of the strut tower brace, you can always head back to the product page and check out some customer submitted images of it installed on customer cars. And while you're there, you can read up on some customer reviews of the product as well. Keep in mind that while the strut tower brace does an excellent job on its own, it does pair really well with other suspension upgrades like a set of lowering springs or even some sway bars. It just does a really great job of tying all of these components together. Now installing this should take you about a half-hour or less. And it fits perfectly over the factory intake manifold without any issues. If you guys have any questions about the strut tower brace or the install, you guys can always feel free to reach out to one of our many Mustang experts by phone or email, and they'll be more than happy to help you out. So if you're looking for a quick and budget friendly way to tighten up your Mustang's handling, you should definitely check out one of the SR Performance's Black Strut Tower Braces for 2005 to 2010 Mustang GTs available right here at AmericanMuscle.com.

Great product. My car handles well hugging corners, and weaving threw congested traffic. Also looks pretty dope under the hood.

Will this fit a 2007 v6 with a plenum cover?

  • Actually, if you return to the American Muscle site and go to the product in question, you should see a product photo of a V-6 engine with a plenum cover and the SR Performance Chrome Strut installed above it. If appears to fit perfectly. I do not have a plenum cover on my car, but I really like the way my SR Performance Strut Tower brace looks; over my Mustang V-6. I hope this response answered your question...if so...please click on "helpful" below. Thanks!

I purchased the Eibach Pro-System-Plus Suspension Kit w/ Solid Rear Sway Bar for my 2014 V6 Mustang. I also purchase the Maximum Motorsports Caster Camber Plates and SR Performance Chrome Strut Tower brace. Will this fit with the camber plates and is it needed?

  • You will not need to have your front end re-aligned however I would recommend it for best performance.

The brace has a rise on each end between the bolt holes that is supposed to fit over the rise on the car. It doesn't line up on my 2014 GT causing the brace to stick up more than it should. Is this normal? Also, how can I be sure which side is the front?

  • The SR Performance Chrome Strut Tower Brace should sit flush, and this is usually corrected by turning the brace 180 degrees. The strut tower has two main cross bars, and one is slightly more curved than the other. The cross bar that has greater curvature should sit positioned close to the firewall and not positioned toward the grille.

    Might not be for V6

After receiving SR performance brace, attempted to place on strut tower but indentions on brace did not line up with strut tower. I thought I had it on backwards, but that only made it worse. (the hood would not close either way) After speaking to AM it was determined that it might have been damaged in shipping and a replacement was shipped out immediately. Same result. Returned for Ford Performance brace and was a perfect fit.

    Too tall for stock.

Too tall for my stock height hood. Hood would not close. Also sits wierd, tilts towards the rear of the car no matter which way you install it.

    Stru Brace

Installation was easy, less than 30 minutes. Two (2) things to note: 1) The picture in the installation sheet isn't real clear on this but the brace, in addition to being angled up to clear the engine, also has an angle horizontally. Proper positioning is with the angle backwards towards the rear. 2) One photo I saw on the webpage showed chrome nuts, similar to the ones included with the strut caps, installed with the strut. These will not work on a 2014 Mustang; they are too long and prevent the hood from closing. Otherwise, it looks sharp.

Easy install, fantastic look, greatly improved performance

Wish I had bought this the day I bought my car! Easy install takes minutes and looks amazing popping the hood! Riding on 20s and boy did it like to pull into the ruts, with this strut brace, that nearly disappears and makes the ride much smoother!

Perfect Fit and makes the car feel great

I got free shipping and it showed up overnight. WOW on the fast shipping for a large item like this. I installed the strut brace in about 20 minutes in my driveway. It was super easy. I love the chrome look under the hood. I have a Trufiber Venom hood and it fits perfectly underneath. I also did not need washers for it to clear the engine. I took a spin around town for about 20 minutes and right away I could feel a difference. The front end definitely feels tighter and more responsive. Overall I give this five stars across the board.

Stack Racing Chrome Strut Tower Brace

Looks good under the hood. I can't tell much difference in handling but I don't race the car so I can not say much on how much it improves handling. It does however look very good under the hood and adds a nice touch of chrome to the area for a show car.

    A must have

This is a must have for any Mustang. Took all of 10 minutes to install. Looks absolutely fantastic under the hood. Handling around corners is definitely better. Not sure why but speed bumps and bumps in the road don't feel as rough anymore either. Stop reading the reviews and just buy it already, you won't be disappointed.

    Noticable in a convertible

Installed with washers below and above as others had mentioned to clear the plenum cover. I had plenty of clearance on my 2008 and probably did not need the washers. The contruction is quality. It arrived promptly and did not take long to place. I have my car lowered so handling is better than stock, but when I would hit rough pavement on a corner the window shimmy was noticable and the steering wheel would shake. Now that I have the brace the corners are more stable, the shimmy is gone and the steering wheel remains straight. I highly recommend this product, especially for convertibles!

    Good buy

Just got it delivered to my door earlier this afternoon. Just loosen up 4 nuts on each side using 13mm deep socket, sit this sucker on top of the strut tower studs, and make sure to tighten the nuts using torque wrench to 25 ft/lb. 1/2in torque wrench is on sale at harbor freight tools for $15.99, can't beat that. Better than Craftsman POS overpriced torque wrench. Looks good being all chromed out and heck yeah, saved $40 over Shelby one. I'd say it's a good buy.

    Chrome strut

Not only does this part work functionally, it looks great when you pop the hood. Really a stout, heavy duty support. I live around some mountain roads and believe me it really tightens up the front end. I noticed it immediately on these winding roads. Installed easily and fit like a glove. AM's shipping is second to none. Always lighting fast, and I like the tracking info they give you. You can literally follow your order right into your hands. AM's number one.

    Very Nice Add On Part

I recently put this on and did some driving on tight turns and I definitely noticed an improvement in handling of my '08 mustang. The chrome finish also dresses up the engine nicely. Easy install too. Overall a great add on part which gives noticeable improvements.
