Description
Eliminate Body Flex. Eliminate unwanted chassis flex and body roll in your S197 Mustang with a SR Performance Strut Tower Brace for improved handling. This Strut Tower Brace was designed to fit both the GT and V6 Mustangs.

Superior Construction. Made from super strong, aircraft-grade 4130 chromoly alloy steel to keep your front end from flexing under the torque of your motor, this SR Performance Strut Tower Brace is completed with a bright chrome finish for great under hood looks and durability.

Easy Bolt-on Installation. This SR Performance Strut Tower Brace is a simple bolt-on upgrade that clears the factory intake manifold including the plastic engine cover and is easily installed with basic hand tools.

Application. This Chrome Mustang Strut Tower Brace is designed to fit the 2005 to 2014 V6 and GT Mustangs. It will not fit the Shelby GT500 model.

Technical Note. This strut tower brace will clear factory plenum covers on 2005-2014 GTs. Some 2007-2009 V6 Mustangs may require minor modifications to assure proper clearance of the stock factory coil pack boots. Will not clear BOSS 302 Intake Manifold, Roush Supercharger or Edelbrock E-Force Supercharger.

Exactly which v6s won't this work with? I have an 07 v6, with nothing on the engine but that black plastic cover, will mine fit?

  • Depending on the stock coil pack boots, you may need to make slight modification on your 2007 V6 (adding some washers can correct this clearance issue). Not all 2007-2009 V6 Mustangs will need to make this modification, but we've found it necessary for some customers. Hope this helps!

Will this fit a 2007 v6 with a plenum cover?

  • Actually, if you return to the American Muscle site and go to the product in question, you should see a product photo of a V-6 engine with a plenum cover and the SR Performance Chrome Strut installed above it. If appears to fit perfectly. I do not have a plenum cover on my car, but I really like the way my SR Performance Strut Tower brace looks; over my Mustang V-6. I hope this response answered your question...if so...please click on "helpful" below. Thanks!

    A must have

This is a must have for any Mustang. Took all of 10 minutes to install. Looks absolutely fantastic under the hood. Handling around corners is definitely better. Not sure why but speed bumps and bumps in the road don't feel as rough anymore either. Stop reading the reviews and just buy it already, you won't be disappointed.

    Noticable in a convertible

Installed with washers below and above as others had mentioned to clear the plenum cover. I had plenty of clearance on my 2008 and probably did not need the washers. The contruction is quality. It arrived promptly and did not take long to place. I have my car lowered so handling is better than stock, but when I would hit rough pavement on a corner the window shimmy was noticable and the steering wheel would shake. Now that I have the brace the corners are more stable, the shimmy is gone and the steering wheel remains straight. I highly recommend this product, especially for convertibles!

Excellent quality, looks great, clears plenum cover, and most importantly our gt convertible doesn't get loose and hairy on broken pavement anymore. We are from Canada and American Muscle made the purchase and shipping smooth, quick and cost effective. Thank You!

    Good buy

Just got it delivered to my door earlier this afternoon. Just loosen up 4 nuts on each side using 13mm deep socket, sit this sucker on top of the strut tower studs, and make sure to tighten the nuts using torque wrench to 25 ft/lb. 1/2in torque wrench is on sale at harbor freight tools for $15.99, can't beat that. Better than Craftsman POS overpriced torque wrench. Looks good being all chromed out and heck yeah, saved $40 over Shelby one. I'd say it's a good buy.

    Chrome strut

Not only does this part work functionally, it looks great when you pop the hood. Really a stout, heavy duty support. I live around some mountain roads and believe me it really tightens up the front end. I noticed it immediately on these winding roads. Installed easily and fit like a glove. AM's shipping is second to none. Always lighting fast, and I like the tracking info they give you. You can literally follow your order right into your hands. AM's number one.

    Stack Racing Strut Tower Brace

Installed on my '08 V6. Easy install. Benefits far outweigh the price and install time. Takes highway speed bumps and corners like it should have from the factory. ( looks great too! ) Highly recommended!

    Very Nice Add On Part

I recently put this on and did some driving on tight turns and I definitely noticed an improvement in handling of my '08 mustang. The chrome finish also dresses up the engine nicely. Easy install too. Overall a great add on part which gives noticeable improvements.
