70mm Throttle Body

This was a pretty easy upgrade. And the sound of the Throttle Body when you give the car gas sounds awesome. I can also tell the car performs better since I put it on.

Hey I’m Justin with, and I’m checking out an affordable 70mm throttle body option from SR Performance, fitting all 94-95 Mustang GTs. SR Performance has really made quite the impact on the aftermarket Mustang world, thanks to their high quality performance and suspension components, with prices that do fit nicely into just about anyone's budget. To learn more about SR Performance, in addition to more new and exciting products for your ride, you have to subscribe to our YouTube channel by clicking on the banner below, if you haven’t done so already. The 70mm throttle body from SR Performance is designed to replace the 60mm factory throttle body allowing more air into your 5L motor increasing your horsepower and improving your throttle response. It has been cast from a 356 grade aircraft aluminum, and features this nice polished finish, which should definitely look good under the hood as well. If you want to learn more about the benefits of running a larger throttle body on your 5L motor, in addition to reading some very useful customer reviews, you have to click the link below to head back to the product page over at In my opinion to 70mm throttle body from SR would be perfect for someone with a stock or relatively mild bolt on car. On the other hand if you do have more serious mods like a blower, cams, or maybe nitrous, then you might want to think about the 75mm option which SR Performance does offer as well. The 70mm option does not require a tune, of course it will only help your performance, but if you are looking for a simply bolt on mod that will really compliment that cold air intake system, this is definitely it. In the box, you’ll find all the hardware and gaskets necessary to get the job done, installing a throttle body is pretty straightforward and should only take you about an hour using some pretty basic hand tools. You will need to transfer over your intake pressure sensor and your air temperature control valve, but honestly it’s only a few screws and shouldn’t give you any trouble whatsoever. If you do run into any trouble, you guys know what to do, give us a call or shoot us an email, our Mustang experts are standing by ready to give you a hand. So if you’re looking to upgrade the factory throttle body in your lightly modded 5L GT, be sure to check out the 70mm option from SR Performance, available right here at

Is a tune required? I recently installed the SR CAI and was now getting ready to purchase the SR throttle body. My question is would I need to do a tuning to have it run correctly?

  • A tune is not required after installing this 70mm TB or the SR CAI. While it's not required, you would gain maximum performance by combining both upgrades with a new tune. Hope this helps!

How Will This Effect Fuel Economy? I have a 94 GT Vibrant Red with 138,000 miles on it and i'm getting around 25-27 mpg and that is with hitting the gas hard a couple time a day. just curious on how this will effect my gas mileage? because i love driving a v8 mustang that has the power and sound but also good gas mileage.

  • This TB will increase your mpg depending on how responsible you drive. It'll give you a little more playing power but that comes at the cost of mpg. It's kind of hard to mind your manors in a Mustang.

Do you have to change the MAS if you put this throttle body on? I am thinking about getting this, but im not sure if you have to change the mass air sensor as well.

  • I didn't have to change anything on my '95 GT. The throttle position sensor and the Idle air control from my stock unit bolted right up to the new unit and replacement was straight forward.

Will this change how hard the gas pedal is to push down?

  • Yes it can change pedal resistance due to how tight the return spring is wound. You do not want to unwind it if you buy this product, the manufacturer has set this according to the needed resistance needed to close the butterfly. Most times these are identical to factory for feel of effort.
