  • You don't hook up anything with the "My Color Options" which is why you use this insert rather than the Reverse Glow insert. Basically all the numbers and windows are clear plastic so you can use any of the "My Color Options" that you want from blue to red to orange and it works fine.

    White Guage face

overall the product was great. in the day time it is hard to see the lights. the install was easy but my product did not come with a guage remover like it said it would on the box. i have to pretend I had a tool and ended up cuting my hand. reseting the guages was a bit of a pain as well. but after everything was said and done the product looked great and all the symbols lined up perfectly.

    Super easy mod

Installation took 30 minutes, and 10 of that was looking for my 7mm socket. Instructions were very clear and easy to follow. Needles lined up perfectly when done. Really sets off the instrument cluster.

    Improved Day Time Visibility

Recently purchased 2007 V6 convertible and the stock black background was almost unreadable in bright FL sunshine due to the depth of the retro style canisters (common design complaint). Replaced the black background with this white face since I do have the My Colors option and it does significantly improve the daytime visibility. The gauge insert is basically cardboard and clear plasic windows with glue on the back that goes over the indicator lights. One of the common complaints of the insert is that the glue is also on the clear plastic windows so those indicators look fuzzy not crisp. I would recommend using Goof Off or better yet acetone (nail polish remover) to take the glue off the clear plastic windows. Even having done that the overspeed indicator is quite faint in sunlight and difficult to read. However this is more than offset by much better readability of the speedometer, tach and gasoline indicators. You do have to be careful when taking off the indicator arms and making sure they are returned to the zero positions. Overall it is a fairly simple installation as long as you take your time and pay attention to details. Unfortunately the installation instructions are not the best since they are written for both the white face and the reverse glow inserts. Overall I would definitely recommend the white face over the stock black especially if you are having problems reading the guages. It is much cleaner look and definitely more visible.

    It could be Better

First it did not come with the removal tool for the needles. Second it did not fit perfectly I had to put the two big gauges in angle and then push the middle to make it fit ,not an easy task having in mine that it sticks to the bottom in the process And 3erd when it’s illuminated it looks faded in the small gauges lights indicator. Now, why do we need to clean the glue from the back to make it look better? Why we need to do this our self? Where does in the instructions from the vendor says that? , the answer is nowhere. So that means that that's the quality of the product coming from the vendor . The price it’s ok, it’s not cheap for all the trouble you have to go thru but it’s not expensive also. I do recommend this product if you want something to do in your spare time and it will look good but not WOW!!.

    Horrible

It looks good installed but once you hook it up. You will have a very hard time seeing your gauges during the day. Material is very cloudy and OF COURSE the needle tool wasn't provided

    • Response from AmericanMuscle

The old adhesive should be completely removed with something such as GooGone, which will eliminate the insert appearing cloudy. Give this a try and if you are still having an issue, please give our customer service a call for further assistance.

    Clean off the factory glue!

This is a great enhancement to a dull interior/gauge cluster. Like a few of the other reviewers stated, be sure to use Goo Gone and remove the factory adhesive. Once that's done apply glue using a glue stick being sure to only put the glue where the light isn't supposed to shine through. I got this for a third of the current price during one of AM's great sales and couldn't be more thrilled with the fit and upgraded looks.
