Improves Handling. Lower your Mustang's center of gravity, by installing a set of Steeda Ultralite Springs which will reduce squat during acceleration, body roll in the corners, and excessive nose-dive under hard braking. Steeda Ultralite Springs are great for daily driving, street, and even occasional track use.

Aggressive Lowered Stance. Not only does a set of Steeda Ultralite Springs improve the handling performance of your Mustang, but they also improve its overall appearance by lowering the ride height approximately 1.25" front and 1.5" rear to eliminate that ugly "4x4" tire to fender gap, for a more aggressive street stance.

Clears Stock and Aftermarket Wheels & Tires. These lowering springs were engineered to be compatible with your factory size wheels and tires, as well as AmericanMuscle’s pre-configured wheel and tire combo kits (specific to your generation), to assure proper clearance with no rubbing issues.

Application. This set of four Steeda Ultralite Lowering Springs are designed for use on the 2005 to 2014 Coupe and Convertible Mustangs, including the V6, GT, and Bullitt models. Does not fit Shelby GT500.

Note: Coupon codes cannot be applied to this product.

Technical Note. For convertible models, it's recommended that the bump stops be either trimmed or cut in half for proper fitment.

Panhard and CC Plates? I've been looking at springs forever and since I don't plan to take my car to the track very often if at all I've narrowed my search down to these springs and the Eibach sportlines (drop 1.1 front and 1.7 back). Would I need a panhard bar and caster plates (Or maybe just the bolts?) for these? I'm not looking to have my $400 Pirellis eaten up any sooner than necessary..

Rakem

  • i went with the camber plates since u have to replace the strut mounts anyway, and both of my cars did need the adj panhard bar to center the axle

Are the Ultralites compatible with the Stock Struts/Shocks? Would like to lower 2012 GT for appearance purposes. Tires 275 35 19 and wheels 9.5. Currently 3" rear and 2" front gap. Would using the Ultralites require new Struts/Shocks for a safe ride?

BYRU

  • I am using my stock struts and shocks with the Ultralites. I did get new adjustable caster camber plates because I wanted it to be as close to exact alignment as possible. The ride is great and I have no up to this point had any issue with the stock struts and shocks.

Can these be installed with just the camber bolts? Can these Ultrilate Springs be installed just using the camber bolts? Or do I HAVE to get an adjustable panhard bar to make it work?

EricGio

  • I installed them with no pan hard bar and took it with the camber bolts to get aligned. The camber was neg .2 too far on the driver side but it was because my driver side was sticking out about 1/4" due to not having the adjustable pan hard bar installed.

winter driving I've heard upgrading suspention can make winter driving worse. But with just upgrading the springs will that be the case too?

  • No you should be fine! I have lowering springs on my 1999 GT and Im just fine. Daily Driven Everyday no matter the conditions! and here in utah we get quite a bit of snow! My mom had a 1964 mustang that was lowered living in Alaska! she just threw snow tires on and was just fine.

    Another great product from Steeda

First off, anything with steeda's name on it is a great product. The ride quality is great, the handling is superb, and the look that this product give your car is what sets it all off. I've had other springs in the past, but these have far exceeded my expectations of a lowering spring. Would recommend these to anyone wanting to lower their stang.

Ultralite springs received instead of sport

American Muscle sent me the Steeda ultralite springs instead of the sport springs I ordered. So, this review would be more applicable in that section. After talking to my mechanic I had these installed instead of sending them back. He didn't feel that there would be much performance difference between the two. I am very happy with the handling improvement over stock with these. The car handles like a whole new machine.

    Best springs for daily driving

Overall - I just installed this springs on my 2013 GT and cannot be more pleased with them. Ride quality -The ride quality is amazing, almost same as stock. I replaced and Eibach pro kit with these because the ride became unbearable with the Eibach and made the car uncomfortable to ride on the daily commute. Looks - They lower the car just enough so that it looks lowered but not slammed to the ground.

    Excellent springs for stock ride

I bought these springs to install with my 2013 track pack's stock suspension set up. The spring rates were very close to stock, so the ride quality is almost identical, except you have the benefit of the lowering. The performance increase is good, nosedive and body roll is slightly decreased, but these are not directly performance oriented springs so that was expected. While keeping near stock ride quality and not putting a beating on the stock dampers, these springs are highly recommended and are an excellent example of Steeda's superior quality in the aftermarket world.

    Steeda Ultralite Springs

I recommend these springs to everyone that wants to get rid of that huge wheel gap but still wants a great ride. I am more than happy with the way these springs handle. They are definitely the best bang for your buck. As for the install, Steeda charges about $360 so I decided to install myself and I am sure glad I did. It was time consuming, but super easy. The front took about 3 hours and the back took about 20 minutes. The main tool that is needed is a strut spring compressor. Save your money and take the time to do it yourself. Have a partner help you because it is a little difficult to do without some extra hands. I did need a panhard bar and camber bolts which are very simple to install as well. Get these springs I promise you will love them as much as I do.

    Awesomeness

Coupled with GT500 Shocks/Struts, GT500 Strut Mounts, and a good alignment, these Springs really perform. They dropped the car about an inch in full and give the car a much better stance while improving handling. The decreased nose dive is a nice touch too. A quick link as to why I went with the GT500 Shocks/Struts: http://www.allfordmustangs.com/forums/2005-2010-mustang-gt-tech/237841-gt500-suspension-parts-setup-conclusions.html

    Best Choice

The Steeda Ultra light springs are awesome. Lowered the car to the perfect height, without sacrificing ride quality. I love the new stance of my ride. Lose that 4x4 gap and invest in a pair of these springs.

New springs brought life back to my ride!

I had these springs installed during a suspension upgrade. They lowered the Mustang around 1 1/2" and what a difference in the ride. More solid, stable and I am a daily driver. Nice look and great price!

My 4 x 4 Stang is no more, that makes me happy! Ride is pretty level I just got this done today and it even appears lower in the rear at least tire to gender gap but I am pretty pleased since quality has not been lost, this is a Stang not Caddilac.

    Completion of the Suspension Work

I had my local speed shop install the Steeda Ultralite Springs Kit, Steeda Adjustable Panhard Bar and Eibach Pro-Alignment Camber Adjustment Bolts at the same time. They had no installation issues. They also performed a front end alignment which they said was easy with the Camber Adjustment Bolt though they may not have needed it. Better safe than sorry for me. I have noticed a ride improvement over original equipment springs. Bumps are not as jarring. These upgrades along with previous installs of AM suspension parts Eibach Anti-Roll Sway Bar Kit, Koni STR.T Front Struts and Rear Shocks and SR Performance Black Strut Tower Brace have given me the suspension I wanted for the street driving I do.

Good street ride, improved Auto-X performance

I purchased these springs along with the Eibach camber bolts, and the J & M panhard bar. I had the installation completed at a local speed shop and the time for install and a moderately aggressive alignment was about 5 hours total and the cost was minimal for everything to be installed, tested, and aligned. I retained the factory shocks since my 5.0 has only 17,000 miles on it and is not time for new shocks/struts...yet. I also have 18x9/10 GT500 (2010) rims with Nitto 245/45 & 275/40 and the "before install" appearance was that of a 4x4 but the "after install" made my car really looks like it should have originally arrived from the factory; lowered as advertised and a great improvement that even my wife liked and approved of! The ride quality on the street is very comfortable with only a small increase in jounce (probably due to retention of the stock shocks/struts) with far less nosedive on braking and less body roll. The improvement in cornering makes you a lot more confident in both you and your vehicle. At an auto-X is where you really feel a great improvement in all aspects of the operation of the suspension. The panhard bar made the rear align perfectly and the camber bolts weren't even needed, but better safe than sorry. A great improvement.
