Better, Faster Shifts. Get rid of the sloppy feel of your stock shifter with a Steeda Tri-Ax short throw shifter. The Steeda Tri-Ax shifter has a unique design that will make your shifts faster, more precise, and even more comfortable. Make missed shifts a thing of the past with the Tri-Ax.

Innovative Design. The Steeda Tri-Ax uses a number of unique design features to provide the best shifting experience possible. The factory steel mounting rail is replaced with a substantial billet beam for more positive location. Then, to firm up shifter feel, upgraded bushings are supplied to further reduce deflection under hard shifting. And Steeda's Tri-Ax for the S197 has a tensioned internal spring so you'll never miss 3rd gear again.

Legendary Steeda Quality. The Tri-Ax base, handle, and beam are all made out of billet aluminum to be extremely lightweight. This shifter is also made using CNC machining for a precision fit.

Application. This Steeda Tri-Ax shifter is designed for the 2005 to 2010 Gt and Bullitt Mustangs with the TR-3650 manual transmission. Shift knob not included.

Technical Note: Compatible with stock GT shift knob; stock knob is not threaded but has a nylon insert which grabs the threads when twisted on. Bullitt models will require a new 12mm x 1.75 threaded shift knob, as the stock Bullitt Knob has an incompatible 12mm x 1.25 thread pattern.

    Never Miss A Shift

    Once I figured out how to remove the shifter by pulling it out through the interior, the install was very easy, I purchased a roll of Dynomat to go along with the shifter, and I have no transmission noise. The shifting is incredibly precise. The only down side is getting over to 5th gear is very stiff, but I have only driven the car once since the install and it will break in. The only con is not anything against the shifter, but Ford installed some sound proofing matting in the underside of the car which make it difficult to get to some bolts. I should have bought this a long time ago.

    Steeda Tri-Ax Shifter on 07 GT

    The shifter is great. It has a much shorter throw that the stock shifter, and when switching gears there is a much firmer feeling. There is a very noticeable difference in the amount of sound that comes into the cabin, but that is to be expected. Highly recommend getting this shifter.

Getting the car on a lift was the only way to go, since it is necessary to drop the shaft. Results are so worth the cost! Get yours NOW!

    If your GT is a DD, skip the Tri-ax, it will drive you crazy eventually.

    I my drove my car for about 5 weeks with the stock shifter before installing the Tri-ax. The good: The tri-ax is much more positive, with shorter throws, and is very strong. You can bang gears as hard as you want with this shifter. You can adjust the height of the handle. The bad: Excessive NVH. To be honest, it's nearly unbearable. The shifter shakes, the console shakes, the interior panels vibrate along with the floor. The shifter is very loud when shifting. Conclusion: If your GT is a DD, skip the Tri-ax, it will drive you crazy eventually. I honestly don't know how this product made it to market with the polyurethane bushings, it's fit for a race car only.

    Much crisper than stock

    I really like the feel of this shifter compared to the factory shifter. The stiffer centering springs make it much easier to hit 3rd gear quickly.

    Steeda Tri-Ax Short Shifter

    I bought a 2007 Mustang GT with 31000 miles. I was having problems with the factory shifter, especially the 2-3 shift. The Steeda shifter is definitely an improvement. The factory shifter could be improved by using higher durometer bushings. The Steeda shifter is a bit noisier. Steeda should replace the factory shifter rubber seal with one that fits the Steeda shifter better, this would reduce some of the noise. The installation was easy for me, I place the car on jack stands and had enough room to access the bolts/nuts without removing the driveshaft. I remove the factory shifter through the console hole and installed the Steeda through the same hole.

    This is the way a shifter SHOULD feel

    the stock shifter feels like garbarge compared to this. this shifter is extremely sturdy, and very NOTCHY, which I love. just ram it into gear, no more missing 2nd or 3rd. a great buy!

    Steeda Tri-Ax 07' GT/CS

    This shifter is great! I love steeda stuff. The installation was better once I figured you had to drop the drive shaft. Steeda's instructions were a bit confusing. The said that at Steeda we drop the drive shaft, you don't have to. You do. That being said after the install-2nd to 3rd feels amazing! Actually enjoyed sitting in traffic, because the shifter was so great. Great improvement over the stock mushbox provided by Ford. I'd recommend it to anyone.

    Great shifter for daily spirited driving.

    I purchased the Steeda Tri-ax shifter for my 2008 GT and noticed a big difference in shift smoothness and ease of throw at high rpms (5500+). It took about 1 1/2 hours to get in on jack stands and you need a special tool to lower the drive shaft which I rented from a local parts store. There is a slight rattle sound from the shifter at high rpm but using the dyno mat and stock rubber boot helped almost eliminate this. Great buy and goes good with my new clutch!

    Buyer beware!

    The shifter arm to trans arm failed after 1 year! My car was dead on i95 and I had to get it towed back all because of 2 bushings and a nut and washer. This company provides ZERO service or replacements on $2 parts!

    Great shifter

    Works great! Yes you get a little bit more noise, but I'm not sure about the people that say its "unbearable". If you're putting a short shifter on your car you probably have an aftermarket exhaust already and you don't mind a little extra noise in the cabin. I personally like hearing what going on with my car. Anyway, The shifts feel very positive and I love the sound when shifting. You definitely know when you're in gear. The one thing I must mention is the stop adjustments. Easy to adjust, just make sure you do it correctly or it could throw you out of gear. I had to readjust the bottom stop on mine after my second run at the drag strip. I guess the shifter moved slightly after my first pass and it jumped out of second on me. I was scared I had munched my transmission. I realized 4th gear wouldn't engage either but 3rd and 5th were fine, so I checked the bottom stop and found that it was not allowing 2nd and 4th to engage. I took a few minutes to readjust it and I was back on the strip! By the way, I had been daily driving my car for a while before that trip to the strip with know problem at all.

    Steeda Tri-Ax

    This was the first mod to my 2005 GT. and well worth it as far as perfromance goes this cog swapper will definatly improve your times, whetere it is on the track or accelerating onto the interstate in traffic. Installation was a bit of a chore, i did it in my driveway with jackstands. All said and done, it was about 2 hours of work but well worth it. The precise feel and positive engagement are phenominal. The only drawback is you cannot see it after it is installed. The machining and finish are beautiful, a true work of art. Way to go Steeda.
