Horsepower Any idea if the 330 number is estimated from the flywheel or the rear wheels?

  • That is wheel horsepowers. Only the factory notes flywheel horsepowers.

Answer This Question

Will the stock clutch of a 2007 be able to handle the added power of this supercharger? Or is upgrading to a stage 2 necessary?

  • This is a complete kit, so you will be entirely covered. This kit will work fine on an otherwise stock Mustang.

Answer This Question

With this exact kit, will I need forged internals so nothing breaks? Or is it tuned and not too much PSI for anything to bust. Or would I need things for handling? Basically, is there anything I should get for prepping my car before purchasing the Supercharger kit?

  • The Vortech V-3 Si-Trim & Charge Cooler - Complete Kit - Satin (05-08 V6) will include everything you need for installtion right out of the box. The tune that is included with this kit will be mild enough that no modifications will have to be done to the car a head of time. If you were going to increase your boost levels and add other supporting modifications to this kit, I would recommend consulting with an engine builder.

How hard would it be to fit this onto a 2010 4.0L V6? I don't really want to go supercharger just because of the limited top end torque.

  • The Vortech V-3 Si-Trim & Charge Cooler - Complete Kit - Polished (05-08 V6) will not fit on your 2010 V6. This kit is specifically designed for use on the 2005 to 2008 mustangs.

Are previous mods needed? Does this kit include everything needed to work well in a stock mustang v6? Or are there additional mods that should already be done to the car before this kit is installed?

  • I had the Magnaflow Cat Back exhaust and CAI mods on my Mustang before I had this Vortech V3 SI-Trim Satin SC kit installed. The kit comes with CAI and Vortech wants you to use theirs so now I have one sitting in a box. The kit includes spacers to raise the fuel rails, new 39lb injectors, Diablo Predator and everything else you need. It requires the power steering fluid reservoir to be relocated but they give you what you need to do that. I have made mods after the install (livewires, coil pack, suspension, shorty headers, brakes, etc.) but have stayed away from engine mods like a throttle body.

Can this effect my automatic transmission negatively?

  • I have had this Vortech V3 SI-Trim Satin SC installed on my Mustang for 7K miles. I thought at first there was a transmission issue with a noticeable lag. It turned out to be a dirty fuel filter. I did install the aluminum drive shaft a few thousand miles ago and the Auburn LSD but that is it for the drivetrain. I had the auto transmission serviced last month and the filter changed, 57K mikes on the car. Tech found no issues. The car drives great.

My friend who is a mechanic and i installed this over the weekend and as soon as i started it up and put it on the streets i felt a total difference. A whole lot more power was put to my V6 mustang. You will need some special tools but other than that it is just time consuming, you will not regret this buy.
