Review & Installation Video

Hi I’m Justin with AmericanMuscle.com, and I have with me two very valuable live axle mods for your 2005 and newer Mustang. I’m referring to the whiteline performance adjustable panhard bar, and support brace, available separately here at AmericanMuscle.com. Anyone that drives a solid rear axle car like the Mustang should be well aware of the benefits of using an aftermarket panhard bar. If you don’t know, the panhard bar is designed t o prevent any side to side or lateral movement of the rear axle by bracing it to the chassis. Here lies one of the problems, the factory brace used to attach the panhard bar to the chassis is made from weak, light gauge stamped metal which can oftentimes bend or flex under load. That’s where this whiteline panhard bar support brace comes in. this brace from whiteline beefs up that weak spot by using heavy duty box steel construction, for superior strength. The brace is then finished off in a silver powder coat for increased durability. Moving away from the support brace and onto the actual panhard bar itself, we’re already somewhat familiar with this product having already used it on our 2011 bolt on build up V6, with great success. Whiteline went with a 4130 chromoly steel for the construction, which is going to be equal parts durable and rigid. Not only will this help keep the rear end in the optimal position but it’s also going to improve both your handling and your traction, this bar also features panhards non bonded elastomer bushings that offer a number of benefits. For one, this design helps prevent the bushing from getting bound up and then snapping back increasing your handling predictability. In addition, these bushings do not produce any noise and are zero maintenance, you’ll never have to grease them. Finally, this bar is fully adjustable while still on the car, so you can make your adjustments without having to uninstall the bar itself. Both the panhard bar itself and the support brace feature simple two bolt installs, so with that said the install itself really shouldn’t be all that bad, but you will need to crawl under the rear of the car just to get everything bolted up properly, just leave yourself about an hour per product. If you’re looking to improve the sub standard factory panhard setup on your 05 and newer Mustang, then you’ll want to check out this Whiteline panhard bar and brace, both available right here at AmericanMuscle.com

Improves Handling. Upgrade your Mustangs suspension with a Whiteline Performance Adjustable Panhard Rod to eliminate the unwanted flex and twist commonly found with the poorly designed factory panhard bar. The Whiteline Performance Adjustable Panhard Rod keeps the rear axle located in the optimum position under the rear of the car, dramatically improving traction, cornering and overall handling performance.

On Car Adjustable. You can easily fine tune your suspension with the Whiteline Performance Panhard bar installed on your Mustang just by turning a wrench, no need to remove it to make adjustments.

Superior Construction. Made from 4130 chromoly steel tubing for superior strength and rigidity, this Whiteline Performance Panhard Bar features Synthetic Elastomer bushings with a non-bonded bushing design that allows the crush tubes to float freely, eliminating bushing wind and snap back, increasing handling predictability.

Application. This Whiteline Performance On-car Adjustable Panhard Rod is designed to fit 2005-2014 Mustangs, including the V6, GT, Bullitt and Shelby GT500 models.

Point where you want to Go!

I installed this along with the Support Brace that is way sturdier than the OEM part. Immediately felt the rear of the chassis tighten up. Now, when I turn and let the rear slip out, I can point the car where I want to go and it won't whip all the way over to the other side. The steering just feels so much more precise and the bar itself is a thing of beauty with the elastomer bushings. Funny because I thought the only reason to buy this, was to re-center the rear axle after lowering, never knew it would also improve handling.

    MUCH BETTER!

I made the mistake of trying a budget Panhard bar before I got these. Big mistake...Just installed it yesterday, and it is awesome. Night and day difference between this and the other. This bar is very solid and simple to adjust. I highly recommend it. Also, AM customer service was excellent!

    It wont break

First I bought a SR panhard bar thinking that this piece doesnt take abuse, it lasted 2 weeks on the road and 1 time at the track before it broke. The whitline bar is a little heavier but it is going to last at the track. The bushings are surprisingly smooth even though they are a very hard rubber. The SR bar is impossible on one end to tighten the jam nuts, not a problem with the Whiteline. Save yourself the extra install and take off times and just get a good panhard bar to start with.DO NOT get the SR bar ! WHITELINE bar is the way to go !

    must buy

Wonderful product! For a first timer buying and installing the panhard bar and brace. It was way worth the money. I noticed improvements on the handling instantly as for I drove with a bent bar and crooked axle for over 2 weeks. Planning on buying the sway bar next to increase the handling even more.

    Great product

I installed this panhard bar while installing new shocks, struts and springs. It only took me about 15 minutes to install. I didn't have to adjust it either. The back end if the car is a little more stable going around corners.

A must have for a lowered mustang

I just installed the Whiteline adjustable panhard bar and the panhard support brace on my lowered Shelby GT500. The Whiteline products were far superior to the stock parts and corrected and centered the axle of my Shelby. The adjustable panhard bar is a must if you are planning on lowering your mustang. The installation was 1 hour for both Whiteline products.

very good quality product for lowered mustangs

A very good super thick panhard bar compared to the stock filmsy one. Comes with its own grease but maybe the energy suspension synthetic or mobil 1 synthetic grease are better. I will see down the road how well the grease holds up. But as of right now no squeaks or NVH added. The bar were super tight to fit in between the brackets they go in. Had to get out a rubber mallet and pound them in. Helps make the back end feel a little bit more solid.

    Great product

It came the right length. Had to drop the sway bar to access couple bolts. But was easy install maybe 2 hrs cause I'm not a mechanic. And I crawled under the the car no lift on the concrete. But the rear end grabs and is solid back there now. Like a brand new car.

    Panhard Bar on V6

The bar fits perfect, and instructions were spot on. Bought this item in addition to lowering springs to ensure wheels were centered, factory setup was almost 1/2" off, easily able to center with new adjustable bar. If looks are an issue with you, be forewarned the picture shows yellow bushings, mine came with black.

    Very solid panhard bar

This is one tough panhard bar. I wasn't sure what to expect when I opened up the box, but I was pleasantly surprised. Whiteline's panhard bar is at least 50% thicker than te stock one and id say about 10 times as tough. Installation wasn't hard, though I didn't follow the instructions and installed the bar while the car was sitting on the ground. Just as Whiteline said the bar was set to stock length and although a snug fit the bolt holes lined up perfectly. You can see the quality in the materials that were used and the welds were neat and excellent. I installed this in conjunction with Whiteline's panhard bar brace and I am glad I did. I used to be able to feel the rear flexing, but once I installed the panhard bar and brace the car is much more solid.

    Whiteline panhard bar

I have purchased several Whiteline braces for my 2009 mustang and been very happy with the quality and fit of their products. Other brands may be cheaper but when it comes to adding stiffness to your frame and suspension you get what you pay for. Whiteline lives up to their reputation for bolt-on products that improve performance and fit as if they were OEM parts. Their adjustable panhard bar was easy to install, easy to adjust for centering the rear axle, and built to last.

    Whiteline Adj Panhard Bar

Installed this along with the brace and talk about a solid feel. Along with the LCA's I can sling the back end out and I don't have hop, and when I want it to straighten up it does it in a hurry and does not make any additional noise. Install took me about an hour with the brace. The only advise I can give is get the suspension unloaded as it will let you move the axle freely for adjustments and install. I had a buddy that did not and it took him about 4 hours. The last bit is use thread lock, or the nuts can walk and will make a TON of noise. Had this with my LCA's and I did not take the chance with this install.

    Feels better driving.

Feels better driving. Don't know for sure if it is different or just a psychological thing. I had lowered my car with SR lowering springs with a 1.5 " drop and thought I might need an adjustable pan hard bar to reposition the axle. Turns out that little drop did not move the axle out of line at all. I am still glad I purchased this whiteline bar because it does feel a lot stronger than the stock one, I also added the whiteline pan hard bar support brace which I am real happy with as it is non flexing and is 10 times stronger than the stock one. Overall a very good investment as it is of great quality.

    Awesome Quality!!!

I lowered my stang and purchased this panhard bar to help correct the rear end. I immediately noticed it was way lighter than the stock and the adjustability was very easy to use. Incorporated with the whiteline brace and the rear end feels more solid all the way around. I definitely recommend this for anyone wanting to get rid of the stock, fix the rear end shifting issues, and shave a few lbs in the process.
