Review & Installation Video

Review & Install Video

Hey, guys, Alex from americanmuscle.com, and today, I'm bringing you my quick review and breakdown of the AEM Dryflow Air Filter fitting the 2009 through current F-150. In this video, I'm gonna give you a quick breakdown of the construction and materials of this filter, give you an idea of who this might appeal to, what you should expect to be spending. And then last but not least, we'll hit the installation, which we're gonna be giving a very easy one out of three wrenches in the difficulty meter, and you should have this on your truck in about 10 to 15 minutes tops. So this filter is gonna appeal to the truck owner, no matter how old or new their truck is, that's looking to ditch their factory paper filter for something that's gonna be a little bit more breathable, as well as filtering out contaminants, and even in some instances, helping your throttle response, as well as fuel consumption. So taking a quick look at the construction here, we're gonna see that this filter is gonna be comprised of a non-woven synthetic material which is said to filter out up to 99% of harmful contaminants from your motor where they don't belong. So this is also gonna feature AEM's dryflow technology, which essentially means that this is not going to need to be re-oiled like some of the other alternatives out there on the market. Another great thing about this kit is that it's gonna be rewashable and reusable. So, when it comes time that it gets a little bit on the dirty side, you simply need to crack your airbox, pull this out and give it a good wash and you're good to go. So taking a look at the pricing here, you should expect to be spending right around 40 bucks for this filter, which, in my opinion, is definitely on the less expensive side in comparison to some other brands out there like ANN. From the money here, you're gonna be getting a drop-in filter that's going to breathe that much better than your stock paper filter, as well as filtering out up to 99% of contaminants into your motor. Again, this is gonna be rewashable and reusable, so you're gonna get a lifetime's worth of use out of this. So in terms of the installation here, just like I had said in the beginning of the video, you're not gonna be looking at rocket science or anything, nor are you gonna have to take a trip down to your local part store, you're looking at a very easy one out of three wrenches in the difficulty meter and about 10 to 15 minutes to get this onto your truck. Now, the easy installation alone here, guys, is another huge selling point for me as you're essentially gonna be cracking open your factory airbox and then replacing it with the AEM unit, and it does not get any easier than that. All right, so just to wrap things up here, some final thoughts. I definitely like this option, not only based on the fact that the install is a piece of cake but for the fact that the price is gonna be that much more less than some of the competitors out there, all will making your F-150 run that much more efficient. So that's my quick review and breakdown for the AEM DryFlow Filter fitting your 2009 through current F-150, available right here at americanmuscle.com.

    I Guess it worked

The filter fit my 15 F-150 just fine. I did not notice any difference in sound, performance, or throttle response. If it helped in any of these categories I can't tell you.

    So far so good!

Have only had installed for a few weeks, but so far so good. Feel a slight increase in throttle response, and a very very slight difference in sound...a good difference. Will probably get a second one eventually to interchange for cleanings. Definitely a huge upgrade over the stock filter.

    Aem dryflow

Well it does what it's suppose to do... filters out dirt, dust, water, whatever particulates that the intake happens to suck in. The reason I purchased this was to have a cleanable and reusable filter plain and simple. The kandn filters are comparable but are oiled and don't do well with turbo'd systems. If you're looking for more power and better gas mileage then keep looking because no changes to speak of here. You won't get that with any replacement filter IMO but at the end of the day I'm happy with the purchase because like I said before... it does what I bought it to do "filter air". What else can you ask of a product other than do what is intended for.

this air filter is not a good choise for the 2015 ford 3.5 eco boost it restricts the air flow and reduces air flow also fuel milage by 2 miles per g

this air filter is not suted for this p/up 2015 f150 3.5 ecoboost moter. after it was installed the performance the fuel milage decresed by 2 mpg. put the stock filter by and all went back the way it was before

    AEM No surprise

The AEM filter arrived quickly and was packaged well and easy to install however, I was expecting atleast 1 mpg. increase and was not surprised when there was no change after driving with it for 2 months. It was relatively inexpensive, compared to more popular brands,
