Review & Install Video
Hey, I'm Alex from americanmuscle.com, and this is my detailed review and breakdown of the Amp Research Powersteps fitting the 2015 through current F-150.
So in this video I'm gonna break down the construction and materials of these boards, along with the corresponding hardware. We're gonna talk about who these are gonna appeal to, what you should expect to be spending, and then lastly we're gonna hit the installation. But right off the bat, I'm gonna be giving these a very easy one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter, and you should have these on your truck in about one to two hours, tops.
So these not only are gonna appeal to a stock [inaudible 00:00:31:] truck, but as well as a lifted truck owner, as these are essentially going to expand out from underneath your Rocker panel as soon as you open your door. And then once you're closing your door, they're gonna tuck up safely away underneath your Rocker panel. So I can't stress it enough before we get in the meat of the video here, that you're gonna be getting some of hands down the best quality parts that are made for the F-150, as well as some great looks and great functionality getting in and out of your F-150.
So that [inaudible 00:00:55] the construction of the boards here, we're gonna see that they're gonna be comprised of a high-strength die-cast aluminum alloy, which is then going to be anodized and then finished off in a mill-speck [SP] finish, which not only is going to look good, but it's going to be to keep your foot on the board, as well as to hold up over time to any type of elements or anything that you may come across. Be it on or off road.
So, additionally, we're gonna see that these are gonna feature high-strength pivot pins for stability, as well as having a weatherproof OE style motor, harness, as well as drive system to ensure that these are going to last a lifetime on your F-150. So, last but not least, we're gonna see that this entire kit is going to be designed and manufactured in the U.S., as well as featuring a pressure sensitive, pin safety technology to ensure that even if a foot were to get in between the truck and your Rocker panel, that this kit will stop immediately.
So in terms of the pricing here, you should expect to be spending right around $1,300. And while that's going to be at the very top of the segment for running boards, you're gonna be getting away with a very quality designed and manufactured U.S. built part, it's gonna be backed by a solid warranty as well as having some of hands down, the best components available for the F-150 today. So again for the money here, you're gonna be getting a set of fully electric running boards that are not only going to look good, but make it considerably easier getting in and out of your truck, be it having a stock ride height or even a four-inch to a six-inch lift. Not only that, these are gonna be parts that are gonna be redesigned and manufactured in the U.S., so you can know that you're gonna be getting a quality product for your truck.
So that brings me to the install here. Like I had said in the beginning of the video, you're gonna be looking at an easy one of the three wrenches on the difficulty meter and about one or two hours to get these installed on your truck, but they are going to install slightly different than that of the state of a Nerf bar or a sidestep or running board. So these are gonna come with a very detailed set of instructions from Amp, and I would definitely think about potentially having these installed either on an evening or maybe over the weekend, and it's always a good idea to have a couple of sets of extra hands and even eyes, as it can never hurt when you're installing anything on your truck.
So at a quick glance here, some of the things that you're definitely gonna need to have these installed are gonna be a full socket set, a few Allen wrenches, some silicone sealer, as well as some wire strippers. And again, you're gonna be looking at around one to two hours to get these on your truck.
All right, so just to wrap things up here, I definitely like this option from Amp, not only based on the fact that they're gonn be the sole outfit that's gonna be offering a fully automated electric style running board for the F-150, but for the fact that these are gonna be designed and manufactured in the U.S., be backed by a tough warranty, as well as having hands down some of the toughest components available for your truck today.
So that's my detailed review and breakdown off the Amp Research Powersteps, fitting the 2015 through current F-150, available right here at americanmuscle.com.
Heavy-Duty Running Boards.
The AMP Research PowerStep Running Boards are heavy-duty and built to last. They make getting in and out of your Ford F-150 easier, but they form a barrier of defense against the elements that keep your truck safer.
Durable Construction and Finish.
Made from high-strength, die-cast aluminum-alloy components, stainless steal pivot pins, and aluminum full-length internal ribs, each running board can hold up to 600 pounds. Add the military-spec finish that deters corrosion and the all-weather construction, and the PowerSteps will become your favorite way to get in and out of your F-150.
Automatic and Electric Powered.
The AMP Research PowerStep Running Boards is the first running board of its kind. Designed to automatically extend when the door is opened, the PowerStep Running Boards gives you the support you need to get in and out of the F-150, but slides out of sight when not in use. This allows for more ground clearance and aerodynamics than traditional running boards and keeps your F150 truck looking streamlined.
Made in America.
From the LED lighting system to the die-cast aluminum, the PowerStep Running Boards are made in America. And they're made for the real world, built tough enough to handle rain, snow, sand, and mud.
AMP Research offers a 5-year/60,000-mile warranty.
These AMP Research PowerStop Running Boards are specially designed to fit 2015-2017 SuperCab and SuperCrew F-150s.
