Review & Installation Video

Review & Install Video

Hey, I'm Alex from AmericanMuscle.com and this is my quick review and breakdown of the Barricade rescue receiver, fitting 1997 through current F-150. So, in this video, I'm going to break down the construction and materials used here, who this might appeal to, what you should expect to be spending, and then later on, we're going to hit the installation, even if we can call it that, which I'm giving an incredibly easy one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter. And you're going to have this on your truck in about 30 seconds, tops. So, this receiver is not only going to be a nice-looking and solid accessory for the back of your truck, but this can also be utilized as a recovery point in the event that you needed to ditch your front tow hooks for an aftermarket bumper or for a bull bar. So one of the things I like about this part, right off the bat, is definitely going to be the quality, which is evident in my hands right here as this is a very, very tough and weighted part that's going to install in a matter of seconds. But this is actually going to make the rear of your truck look great with a very simple, subtle add-on of an accessory like we've got here. Something else that's pretty cool, in my opinion, is that you're going to have the ability to throw a three-quarter-inch D-link or even a shackle here, so even if you're not doing some serious off-roading, you can still further accessorize this part on the back of your truck to suit your personal tastes. So digging into the construction, right out of the box, I was honestly pretty surprised with the weight and girth of this part, the finish as well, and having the Barricade logo laser-engraved right on top here, which I personally think is a really nice touch. So getting down to brass tacks here, we're going to see that this is comprised of 6061 T6 CNC machined aluminum, which is going to be rated at about 10,000 pounds and then Barricade is then going to finish this off in a very nice-looking black powder coated finish, which in my opinion is going to mesh pretty well with your dark or light colored trucks, no matter the amount of chrome, or if you're going to have a lot of black on your truck, as well. So as I said previously, this is going to be able to fit most, if not all, two-inch receivers as well as being able to accommodate a three-quarter-inch pin like you're going to find on most, if not all, D-rings, as well as shackles. So looking at the pricing here, you should expect to be spending right around $100, which, in my opinion, this is honestly worth every penny as you're going to have a really nice-looking accessory which is going to clean up the rear of your truck and you're going to have an extra recovery point here in the event that you're running an aftermarket bumper or a bull bar so you had to get rid of your front tow hooks. So getting into the installation here, even if we could call it that, just like I had said in the beginning of the video, you're looking at an incredibly easy one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter and probably about 30 seconds to get this onto your truck. You're honestly going to be taking more time, literally, getting this out of the box than onto your truck as this is merely going to install into your receiver just like this. You're going to throw a pin in there and you're good to go. It does not get any easier than that. All right, so just to wrap things up here, I definitely like this option from Barricade not only based on the fact that I have a few of their parts on my personal truck and I know what their quality is like but for the fact that this is going to be a very, very clean and subtle mod that's going to clean up the back of your truck, be precision made out of CNC'd aluminum, as well as acting as a separate recovery point in the event that you needed to ditch your factory bumper for something in the aftermarket or even pick up a bull bar. So that's my review and breakdown of the Barricade rescue receiver, fitting the 1997 through current F-150, available right here at AmericanMuscle.com.
