tune or not? I own a 2012 5.0 GT w/auto transmission. Only alterations are a C&L CAI, SCT/Bama tune 89 Street, 91 performance, 93 race, and Flowmaster hushpower axle-back. Will I need to have the tunes reflashed for this addition to my pony?

  • A re-tune isn't necessary, but I would recommend a re-tune for maximum performance with this part. The Bama team can make adjustments for the increased exhaust flow you'll get with this X-pipe.

Will this pass California smog check test ?

  • The Bassani Cut and Clamp X-pipe installs after your OEM catalytic converters, leaving all emissions control devices stock and functional. This will not have any issues with smog testing.

Well this X-pipe install eliminate the resonators on my 2013 Mustang GT or do i still have to install other piping to delete the resonators?

  • The Bassani Cut and Clamp X-pipe will install after the cats, and before the Resonators, leaving both on the vehicle.

What is the difference between this "cut and clamp" x pipe and magnaflows "true x" x-pipe? Also, will either of these fit a 3 inch mbrp race cat back exhaust without modifications?

  • Both the Bassani and the magnaflow x pipes are cut and clamps and will fit 2011-2014 5.0L GT Mustangs in combination with either an aftermarket or the factory GT dual catback exhaust system. They are both 3" tubing with step downs. We have not tested each exhaust separately with the MBRP race catback, therefore we can not guarantee fitment.

    Bassani X pipe

Well, I love the performance and gas saving. The only negative is the picture of the x pipe is not the one I received. Mine didn't have a chrome finish on the X and the Bassani wording wasn't engraved. Don't know why???

    Pure Quality from Bassani!

The moment you open the box you know you've made the right decision. The mandrel-bent stainless pipes, precision welds, and stainless steel clamps are all pure quality. This X-pipe comes with short extension pipes with factory-style ball connections that bolt right up to the factory cat pipes. There is zero cutting involved aside from freeing the factory ball clamps from the stock H-pipe. Had this installed at a local shop because I also purchased BORLA over-axle pipes to go with existing Magnaflow Street GT500 axle-backs. Installing the over-axle pipes didn't seem like it would be fun using jack stands. They said everything bolted right up perfectly with zero modifications. The sound is just what I was looking for. Paired with the BORLA over axles it really smoothed out the sound with less "burbling", and slightly more raspiness. At idle I think it's actually a bit quieter, but when you get on the throttle it takes on a noticeably raspier/racier tone. Bassani is the best in the business when it comes to x-pipes. Highly recommended!

    X pipe NICE

This stock H-pipe replaced by the Bassani X-pipe is a really nice difference. It got ride of the 1 second lip sputtering sound on my Roush axle back mufflers as I slowed down and approached a stop light or sign which was really embarrassing. I also have no more muffler banging against the undercarriage of the car as I drive over various bumps in the road. It's added a throatier and deeper sound vs. the raspy note that the stock H-pipe delivered. I have recommended this pipe to my friend who has Borla cat backs. Took the garage approximately 45 minutes to install and am completely satisfied with the final product. Excellent job Bassani.

    Bassani X-Pipe

Picked up the x-pipe from AM on Friday, and had it installed on Saturday. Glad I took it to my local muffler shop for the install, passenger side stock clamp was seized hard to get off. Finally after applying egough heat, the stock clamp was free and the install went smooth. All the stock clamps were reused, as the supplied clamps (3) wouldn't work. Funny that the three supplied clamps were in a sealed package, thought there should have been 4. No noticeable sound increase with my Kooks axel backs, but there is a noticeable difference in how the car pulls freely through the gears. Very happy with this purchase.

    Doesn't look like pic!

The fit was very good and the exhaust note was excellent and has a nice deep tone with my Roush exhaust. The only problem I had was it's not shinny chrome like the pic. It's a dull metal like the pipes. I'm still happy for getting them.

    Bassani X-pipe

Had issue to install the X-pipe, and it was not easy when you lay on the floor working on it. the fitting to me was kind off a little, not sure if because we tie the cat too early or not. The issue we had was where connect from x-pipe to the rear pipe, since we tie up the cat first not sure if that was our issue. However, it sound not bad, I think it just need to be running few times and will sound deeper later.

    perfect add

this x pipe was easy to install, granted i did it on a lift. no cutting involved. do yourself a favor, when you are unbolting the clamps u can do it from the bottom, there are torx heads on the bottom. i read a review on here that they had a hard time removing the bolts from the top with a wrench, you dont have to. as far as sound, i already had kooks axlebacks, i added the x pipe and kooks 3in. over axle pipes together. at idle it sounds the same but when it revs up it has an awesome growl to it. perfect tone. not raspy and no popping. just a clean sounding exhaust

    Great pipe

I used this pipe with the Flow master outlaw on my 2011 Gt CS and it sounds great, I was gonna go cat less but..... There's no need for that, I get thumbs up when I'm driving on the street and my friends love the sound.

Worth the price compared to other X-Pipes.

I installed the pipe in few hours. It was done in a 2 car garage on jack stands. The fit and finish wasn't the best, but it worked. The flared ends of the X Pipe that matt up to the cats were not centered on the pipe, but they seem to still work. I also had to use a little elbow grease to get the cats to line up with the X-pipe because it was over bent on one side. It did quiet the car down a little bit.

    Bassani bolt in X-pipe

It will definitely bolt in with the supplied slip joint. Great flow, great sound, great fitment. I had a VERY slight leak that I couldn't even hear, but could feel with my hand when a buddy revved the car, so I ended up having it welded to make sure it was perfect. You may not have that issue, maybe just my install, but I couldn't get the band clamps tight enough on the one side. Great looking piece, definitely great build quality!

    Super easy install

The factory pipe was really easy to remove by just cutting the welds. Then the Bassani just bolts right in. I bought the Bassani race exhaust as well and combined they have an awesome deep tone. Really happy with my purchase.

    Bassani X Pipe

The Bassani X pipe added a great tone to my exhaust it complemented my Roush axle back great and with a resonator delete my GT really screams at high rpm. There really isn't a lot of drone either which is perfect, I can still hold a conversation with passengers and I get compliments all the time about the tone. It was a pretty easy install on a lift, hardest part was unbolting the factory part because there wasn't a lot of room to get to the bolts but it took about an hour and a half to install. I definitely recommend this product.

    Open it up!

This X-pipe really brings out that extra deep tone, not to mention freeing up a little power. If your looking for a simple bolt on here it is! I thought my 13 GT sounded good with the Flowmaster Pro series axle backs, it sounds even better with this X-pipe.

    Great addition!

Well packaged and fast shipping! X pipe is very well made. Cut and clamp was not an issue for a minimum skilled 'do it yourself' mechanic. Did not have to cut the pipe and install was smooth. I did have to cut the tabs on the reused clamps just aft of the cats. I did the install in my garage on jack stands with basic tools and a cutting disk for the tabs. From start to finish, it took about 2 hours. I still have stock cats and resonators so the sound at idle is deep and smooth. The x did not add much rasp but more of a hollow sound with gt500 mufflers. Overall a very good sound was reached and price was excellent. Very good purchase

    Great Product!

Just installed last night! Took about 1hr 45 start to clean up using a 2 jack stand and a couple of floor jacks. The fit & finish was perfect and the only tough part about removing the stock h-pipe was the fact the the head of the bolt for the clamp between the cats and the h-pipe faces up. This left very little room to get up in there with a wrench. I was able to fit a small socket wrench and loosen it with minimal force. My install DID NOT require any cutting of the factory piping as the description says. Exhaust note sounds a little deeper with my Roush axle back. Due to the lovely New England weather this time of year I have not yet had a chance to take it on the road.

    Pure Quality.

The Bassani X-pipe comes well packaged and shipping was very fast (for such a large product), thanks to American Muscle. The moment you open the box you'll see that you made the right choice. It is extremely well constructed. We (friend and myself) installed the X-pipe along with a Roush axle-back using a lift, which made things a lot easier. The fit was good, but we added a few touches (like custom mid pipes) to make the exhaust transition even smoother. The clamps work perfectly and the directions are very good... just as advertised. No leaks and my exhaust absolutely looks great. The X-pipe complements the Roush, I compared my car's exhaust sound to another Roush axle back installed 2011 GT only without the Bassani and mine is deeper and a tad throater at WOT. Under 2,300 rpm. they're about the same. As for performance... I have to be honest and say i can't tell how much is from the X-pipe versis other modifications. It does seem quicker, but because I didn't dyno the car before and after, I'm only giving you my personal impression. I'm sure that there is some marginal gain in horsepower, but I can't put a specific number on it, as to how much. I highly recommend this affordable upgrade... you'll at very least inhance your other mods and still be emissions legal. I'd do it again.
