Review & Install Video

These are the BBK Off-Road Cat Delete Pipes for the 2011 to 2014 GT, and these offer you a fast and easy way to affordably eliminate your cats without having to purchase an off-road mid-pipe. These will work with either the stock exhaust or aftermarket exhaust. So stock or aftermarket shorty headers, and the stock or an aftermarket mid-pipe, as long as it keeps the same two and a half inch diameter. The install for these pipes is very simple. You're looking at a one out of three wrenches in the difficulty meter and you can expect to spend an hour or two getting these on the car. So the cat delete pipes will connect to the shorty headers and the mid-pipe, whether it be an X or an H pipe, it doesn't matter. The nice thing about this is you don't have to purchase a whole new mid-pipe to go catless. So you get to keep your current mid-pipe or upgrade later if you wanted to. That's gonna make this a more affordable way to eliminate your cats. These are Mandrel-Bent aluminized tubing. Aluminized tubing is nice in the sense that it tends to be less expensive than stainless steel, but it does have it's down sides. If you're shopping for a daily driver, or a car that you drive in all different types of weather, I usually recommend steering away from aluminized tubing. It doesn't have corrosion resistance like stainless steel does, so it's not gonna hold up as long as stainless steel would in those cases. But if you're not shopping for a daily driver, and you don't mind aluminized tubing, then I'd say that this is a good buy. Because these are cat delete pipes, I have to say that they're intended for off-road use only. You're eliminating your cats here and, essentially, what you'll be doing is opening up a point of restriction. That means you get more sound from your exhaust even if you have a completely stock setup. Your exact exhaust situation will determine what your car is ultimately gonna sound like though. The other thing to consider here is you will see a check engine light if you install these and you don't do anything with those O2s. A tune can eliminate the check engine light for you. When it comes to price, you can expect to spend just over $150 for these pipes. These are currently your only option when it comes to cat delete pipes. Your other option is to go with an off-road mid-pipe, but that is gonna be a more expensive than these cat delete pipes. As far as the install goes, this is a one out of three wrenches in the difficulty meter, and you can plan on spending an hour or two getting these installed. You can use a jack and jack stands to get this done, but as always, a lift would make the job easier. Once you get the car in the air, you'll need to unplug the rear O2 sensors, loosen the clamps at the rear of the cat pipes where they'll connect to the front of the mid-pipe. Unbolt and remove the cats after you pull the bolts from the exhaust manifolds. Remove the O2 sensors from the stock cats and install them into the BBK cat delete pipes. Place the cat delete pipes in place reusing the stock metal flange gasket at the headers, then connect the cat delete pipes to the front of the mid-pipe, plug back in the O2s, and you're all done. One other thing I will say here is to go back over the bolts once you've had some run-time in the car. Everything will heat up, expand, and contract back down, so you want to check for exhaust leaks and tighten the bolts. That's gonna wrap things up for the BBK Off-Road Cat Delete Pipes. As always, you can check them out more online right here at americanmuscle.com.

Will these fit the BBK 1 3/4 in Long Tube headers?

      • These BBK Off-Road Cat Delete Pipes are designed for stock length headers only.

Hello. If I install the cat delete pipes first followed by a custom tune within 2-3 months, should I expect any other issues driving in the interim time, besides the CEL? Thank you!

      • Other issues would arise (aside from the CEL) if you're driving the vehicle without cats and without a custom tune. We strongly advise having the tune installed when the pipes are installed.

          Sounds great

Had hard time getting cats off also had hard time with getting everything to fit up and stop leaking but now that everything is right the sound is awesome love it !! Downside is I got a check engine for on now even with my bama tune. I emailed bama for new tunes b4 i installed the deletes and they said i didn't need updated tune for this mod. So i installed and ended up with a cel, i emailed bama back waiting for a response.

          Exactly what I wanted

Title says it all. One thing I'll add is that everything you've ever heard about the passenger side manifold clamp bolt is true. It's the most ruthless and stubborn nut/bolt combo I've ever encountered. Luckily, I had the tools and mechanical experience to prevail. I still couldn't get it to even budge. This story ends with me reattaching the other three bolts and driving to a local exhaust shop. I honestly felt defeated, and I was frustrated, right up to the point where they started my car for the first time after completing the entire installation. Now, my only regret is not going straight to the shop with the unopened box. No drone in my car at all. Cold starts are viscous, but when driving around town or in neighborhoods, you can keep the car's sound down to an almost 'quiet' level. No louder than idle once the car is warmed up. Once you bang through a couple gears though, and you'll forever and exclusively refer to the accelerator in your car as the loud pedal.

          Wakes the car up!

Install is straight forward took just about an hour, you will need at least 36inches if extensions for the passenger side far right nut.

They are just pipes in the end

Overall the BBK Cat Delete Pipes were the best bang for the buck however they did not mate up to stock H pipe on my 2014 Mustang GT. I ended up welding them to the stock H pipe. You get what you pay for but in the end, they are just pipes. The sound is of course slightly louder than stock. I have it paired with resonator deletes and GT500 single tip mufflers and the sound is great!

          CAT DELETED

Fit was okay but other than that simple bolt on. Bolts took some muscle to get off ended up breaking off one of them but whatever not a big deal. Definitely livened up my exhaust a lot. Good purchase.

          Holy loud!!

Install really was not a big deal!! The fitment wasn't a issue .. I seen everyone saying they had leak problems, I just tapped on the clamp a few times to even everything all out and the leaks went away.. BUT so you know they will make your pony VERY loud! I'm running a 13 gt stock headers with deletes and stock h pipe with flow master outlaws!

          Great sound

Installing these even with the stock mufflers improved the sound of my 5.0 The hardest part was getting the old cats off. Take the time to make sure the clamps are on straight or they will leak. Also keep in mind that your engine light will come on without a tune.

          Wasn't ready for that!!

I have a Flowmaster Outlaw catback exhaust. This part married right up to it using the factory clamps. Those that came with the flowmaster didn't work... The factory clamps worked perfectly. Keep in mind, the ONLY hard part about installing these, is getting the factory cats out. Ford DID NOT want them breaking free, so bring 1000 gallons of elbow grease and get ready. Once removed, I finished the job in what seems only 10 minutes. The new bolts and crush washers made it a breeze! Parts look great, and the car is LLLLOOOOOUUUDDDDD!!! Be prepared, it gets LLOOUUDD without stock components.

          Great product

Install was easy once the old bolts were taken off stock system. The sounds is richer and deeper now. I highly recommend this item if you need more flow leaving the engine due to the restrictions of the cats.

          good fit, really really loud.

I had no problems with fitment, i purchased 2 sets of Pypes before this and they were both terrible, these were right the first time, they matched right up to the factory H and my Corsa X-Pipe, i tried both just to make sure. I have corsa extremes axlebacks and stock resonators on and its really loud, it backfires alot, but it sounds mean, just be prepared because you are going to attract a lot of attention. Install took about 90 minutes, but i had already dont this 2 weeks before so i knew what to do.
