do i need to buy the high flow cats to install this or can i use mt stock ones?

    • With this Pypes Off-Road Exhaust, it would be recommended to use the Pypes High Flow Catalytic Converters, linked below, but you could reuse your factory cats. Pypes High Flow Cats: https://www.americanmuscle.com/pypes-ceramic-catalytic-converter.html

Will this exhaust fit stock headers? Do I need shorty headers for it to fit?

    • Yes, the Pypes The Beast Off-Road Mid-Muffler Exhaust (05-10 GT) will work with stock headers as well as any after market shorty header.

do you know if this exhaust will fit a 2008 GT500?? without any modifications

    Jim

    • It would definitely require modifications because the Pypes The Beast Off-Road Mid-Muffler Exhaust (05-10 GT) is specifically designed for the GT model, not the GT500. Because this exhaust is designed for a GT the diameter of the piping will be smaller than your stock exhaust.

      Great exhaust for the money

The exhaust sounds phenomenal. It's sounds like a mustang should sound. The biggest issue with this exhaust is that the rear hangers do not line up at all so I had to take it to an exhaust shop to be modified. Other than that issue this a great exhaust for the money

System sounds great as one would expect. Plan on spending a day for installation and definitely use a hoist! The fit was great all except the tailpipes. But it's what you would expect for a pre-bent system.

      Neighbors Are Not Happy

First aftermarket exhaust set up. Read all the reviews on here and forums, Knew there would be fitment issues to be worked out. I installed my self on jack stands. Had the muffler hit the gas tank and fought hard to fix that. Obviously the hangers were off just like everyone else said but other than that GREAT product. Amazing sound. you should buy this, insanely loud, everyone looks.

      LOUD!

There isn't a word to describe this exhaust. If you hate your neighbors and want to annoy everyone in your town this is the exhaust to do it with. There is no sounds on the Internet that you car hear that will remotely describe this exhaust.

      Pypes Beast

This combo fit in with little effort and looks great! At first the exhaust was a bit raspier than I was hoping for, but that quickly changed. I know exhausts need to get "broken in" and after just a few days now it is a LOT better. It is still on the raspy side, but with an x-pipe you need to expect that, but its just the right amount of rasp. My neighbors I am sure are already starting to hate me. With my race tune and cold temps (it was 38 yesterday) it idled at above 2500 for 15-30 seconds, and as you can imagine was very loud! Sounds great though! Not sure how much I will like it with long tubes though, might be too loud then, we will see.

      Pypes is where its at!!!

i bought my 06 GT with a welded in aftermarket X-pipe and the american thunder axlebacks from Flowmaster. This was definitely not loud enough to represent my black stallion how i wished. I purchased this kit to match up to my BBK tuned-length shorty's and i must say its the best thing I've purchased for the stang to this day!!! Ford Racing 4.10's from AM keep it in the powerband for constant screaming sound and a perfect growl that turns everyones head from the strip to the interstate. Fitment was perfect, just make sure you have the factory 4 hangers after the axle and your 2 on the trans crossmember and its a quick 2 hour job on a shop floor!!

      Far from bolt on...

I bought this kit last week and tryed to install it in a day... bad idea. Make sure you make it a weekend project. And make sure you have a welder and a tailpipe expander close. The two tailpipe hangars are so far off its rediculous.

      LOUD, Deep, Rust Proof

I've had this system on my car for 2 years now. It's gotten deeper and deeper with age. The system still doesn't have a spot of rust on it. My only complaint is the fit, although bad, it's not perfect.

      WOW!!!

exhaust is loud but that is exactly what i was looking for...installation was pretty straight forward....nothing real hard.....would recommend an impact for removing the stock exhaust...my car already turned heards but now it gets almost anyones attention..even got a compliment from a state trooper...would recommend this product to anyone looking for a meaner louder stang

After spending some time looking for the right exhaust kit for my 2007 CS/Mustang I went with Mid-Muffler. Man! best sound for 05-07 stangs. Loud! But but love it!

      Full Race Sound

At W.O.T. it sounds like the space shuttle launching.. Really, this system is too loud for the street. But if thats your thing, then you won't be disappointed!

      On the Track

Use this exhaust on my '08 GT race car. Averages around 93db WOT close to redline in 4th gear with 3.73 and stock exhaust manifold (mandated by class). Been running this exhaust for one complete season with no issues at all. Fans always comment on how good it sounds. Sound readings by sanctioning body's certified equipment so consistently accurate.

      The Beast

I have this setup along with bbk shorty headers bbk throttle body and CAI. The name of this product descibes it, it is a beast. Very loud even with the cats. Very little to no drone while cruising. Your neighbors will know when your coming home from about 2 blocks away. Overall very satisfided with the sounds and performance, thanks AM

      Unleash the Beast

Put this on on 07 Grabber with the Pypes shortie headers, no cats, a bbk throttle body, and a Steeda full CAI...For sure not for the faint at heart...at WOT this combo is LOUD LOUD...really the only thing that I have heard that is louder is a Nascar...no joke... At moderate throttle and while cruising there is no drone and its nothing a couple cranks of the stereo won't cover...I like it...doubt the neighbors will :)
