Review & Installation Video

Review & Install Video

Hey, guys. Adam here with americanmuscle.com. Today, I'm bringing you a quick overview and installation of the Black Dual Halo LED Projector Headlights, fitting the front end of all 2004 to 2008 F-150s. I'll be going over the styling and appearance you can expect from these dual halo headlights as well all the materials and construction. I'll top the video off with the installation, which I'll let you know upfront here is gonna be fairly simple but does require a very minimal amount of splicing. So because of the splicing, I'll bump it up to a two out of three wrenches on our difficulty meter. The Black Dual Halo Projector LED Headlights will be for any '04 to '08 F-150 owner who might be looking to spice up the front end of their F-150 by giving it a modernized look with a dual halo design. Something that's kind of bulging out, as opposed to some of the other ones out there with a Euro styling, a simplistic headlamp. This is very, very modern, advanced, and gives you a very aggressive front-end look that catches some eyes. It's got a bulging outlook, as you can see. This front end bubbles up a lot just to give room for that second LED halo and projector bulb. Now, the housing inside is all black, giving a matte-black somewhat look, the lens on the outside completely clear, which is good for the guys out there who are worried about smoked lenses kinda dumbing down the visibility here. Not the case with this particular design. Aside from that actual housing, you get two projector lamps here, one high beam, one low beam. The high beam's kinda bulging out here, as I mentioned. Both of which are surrounded by a halo ring. Now, that's kinda where the splicing comes into play because these will light up in conjunction with kinda like your daytime running lights, which gives it a very, very attractive feel, even when the headlights themself are off. Now, in addition to that, you're also getting an accent lighting here in the corner, which just acts as, you know, another design piece to light up a little bit. That'll also work in conjunction with the halos. In addition to that, you get your turn signals, your reflectors, everything built in here, but all with a modernized design. Now, I, myself, have never owned my own F-150, but I did own projector headlights with the halos like this on my own Mustang, and I did have a lot of positive experiences with it, simply because everybody was always so attracted to that design. Now, a lot of people will say maybe it looks like a little bit of a BMW front end, but I never agreed with that, simply because of the fact that it is just a more modernized design here. We're all kind of gearing toward LED headlights and things of that nature, so getting these dual halos spices things up a bit, but strays away from the common Euro styling and other LED bars like that, giving you the halo that actually kind of illuminates in somewhat of a blue saturation. Now, again, in my opinion, very worthwhile investment for the guys looking for a more unique front end, but don't really wanna spend too much of a price tag. Now, this one comes in at just shy of the $200 mark, making it a very, very affordable option for your front end, more budget-friendly than 90% of the other options out there that offer LED stylings. As far as the installation, this is something that does require the splicing. Other than that, extremely, extremely simple with plug-and-play designs for the wiring harness. Now, as far as the install goes with tools, all you'll need, simple ratchet and socket set. You can simply pop open the hood and gain access to the headlights. Overall, it should take you about an hour's worth of time in the driveway at home, two out of three wrenches on our difficulty meter. Pulling out the factory headlight and replacing it with this one is very, very simple because they go in and come out the exact same way. It's the wiring that begins to be a little bit different. So once you get the new black pro

Upgraded Styling. Give your Ford F-150 head-turning, luxurious "angel eyes" with the Axial Black Dual Halo LED Projector Headlights. These projector-pattern headlights flood the road ahead with clean, brilliant light, while the halo rings make your vehicle look unique. The black housings give your F-150 a fierce yet elegant appearance, while the powerfully-focused beams make night driving much safer.

Increased Illumination Power.
The Black Dual Halo LED Projector Headlights by Axial feature an ultramodern black housing and clear lenses for maximum light. The LEDs last 50,000 to 75,000 hours, far longer than standard bulbs, while boosting light output greatly. There are also low and high beam halogen bulbs.

Installation. Some wiring is necessary for installation, to connect up both the halos and LEDs.

Application.
These Axial Black Dual Halo LED Projector Headlights are designed to fit all 2004-2008 Ford F-150 pickup trucks.

What wires do i twist together and to what wires do i connect in the parking light, for my halos and leds to work.

AlexM

  • When installing the Axial Black Dual Halo LED Projector Headlights, the wires on the back for the halo lights and LED accents will each have a power and ground wire. you will want to attach the power wires together, and ground wires together, and then wire them to the matching wires on the parking lights. on your parking lights, the center wire will be power (3 wire connector) and the outside black wire will be the ground.

Are these light dot or sae approved and how bright will they shine with led bulbs in them

BradyB

  • These are not DOT certified headlights, the LEDs are extremely bright and would definitely be an increase over stock or factory.

Are the lights white or do they have a yellow tint? Want them to be white

corbinc

  • The H1 bulbs included in the Axial Black Dual Halo LED Projector Headlights do have a yellow-ish tint. Unfortunately, we do not currently offer them with white bulbs.

Will I be able to replace the bulbs that are in the unit with an hid kit?

TimH

  • The Axial Black Dual Halo LED Projector Headlights are not designed to accept HID's as this will damage the projector lens due to the change in bulb length. HID's will also void the warranty. These will accept halogen and LED lamps only.

These were replacing my headlights on my 2006 F-150. The instructions were not so great but. If you just tap into the parking lights instead of the daytime running light then everything goes pretty smoothly. The low and hig beams are both amazingly bright and it was a good purchase.

You get what you pay for

These Halo lights were easy to install as long as you know that driving lights are actually the parking lights and not the headlights. Once I determined which wires to splice it goes ok and I say ok because I was unable to exchange my brighter xenon bulbs. If you want to switch them out they don't. The marker light was very hard to twist and turn into the drivers side. FYI the black wire is the ground the brown was the positive and the striped you don't use it's for the blinker I'm referring to the 3 wires on your parking lights that you will have to spice. The fitment was decent I recommend using a detail cloth to protect your paint . Once installed I loved the overall look my concerns would be how long will these things still look after the sun and elements. I hope the bulbs don't blow either I'm sure you can't purchase new ones and hope I get lots of miles on them but they were cheap look great only time will tell.

    Easy install and looks great

These headlights were a very easy install. Inside the box you'll find the headlights, quick splice connectors, as well as two replacement bulbs. The front of the lights were covered in a thick plastic cover to keep them from getting scratched. Installing them is as easy as removing the stock headlights, removing certain bulb fittings and installing them to the new one, and then writing the halo lights to the running lights. Then fitting them into place and bolting them in. The only concern is the rubber on the outside of the headlight doesn't match up and deal with the body of the truck.

I choose the black so it matchs the color of my truck glad I bought it over the chrome The installed involved a wiring change which is why I had a professional do the work not my thing but definitely worth it.

    Great look

Love these new lights, the instructions are so bad though, but I watched a video or 2 and it was fine. The headlights are not much brighter, but the brights are. I have recieved lots of compliments on them and have referred them to American Muscle. Keith I put less than an hour on the install times which is accurate, but I spliced them on to the blinker by mistake. Shoulda been and hour

    not what i expected

Well I've only had the lights for mabey 2 months and already theres water puddling inside of them, I was also told that they would be led projectors not regular bulbs, and the halos are barely visible during the day time. Also the lights barley fit with the frame and the weather strip is a quarter of an inch ahead of the frame, so it does nothing. So it's honestly not worth it in my opinion.

    Not what i wanted

I bought these lights to replace the old ones on my 2004 Ford F150. The lights are ok. Need better wiring diagram. The Led and halo lights are not as bright as i thought they would be. Also they do not fit like OEM lights. Need more weather stripping for rhe extra gaps. One light already leaked a little after first rain. I also ordered rear taillights to match. One came in broken. Contacted customer support. Lights are not available now and no Eta on when they will be in. Sending them back and stuck with front that do not match rear. I could have got lights off Amazon but wanted to go with a better company and something better in quality however seems they are the same poor quality.
