I know they made ones for the 2013-14 GT but will these ones fit a 14 GT? From what I've heard they will but they will stick out, which I would actually prefer

    Rob

    • The Borla Stinger S-Type Axle-Back Exhaust (11-12 GT) will not fit with the 2014 GT as the location of the hangers and muffler chambers are a slightly different size. We can only confirm fitment for 2011-2012 GT Mustangs.

Review from Borla Stinger S-Type Axle-Back Exhaust (11-12 GT)

      Love the Sound!

Ordered these after listening to countless exhaust videos. My main hangup before the purchase was the price, but they were exactly what I was looking for. They arrived well packaged and in perfect condition. The quality is obvious. Super easy install when you unbolt the hangers (only took about 20-30 minutes). I also have the Borla Over Axle Pipes installed, too. These things sound amazing. Deep tone and very throaty note. They are loud on initial cold start, but settle down below 1,000 rpm. It is easy to modulate the sound with your right foot. The more throttle you give the car the louder it gets. At highway speeds, there is no drone and sounds only slightly louder than stock. My only criticism of them is the size of the tips. When I first saw them in person, they looked huge! I am getting use to the size, and they do look better installed, but they are much larger than stock, and look larger than the GT500 i had. They fill the cutouts completely with very little gap around the tips. My passenger side is slightly off center compared to the driver side, but i thing this is more to do with my hangers than the mufflers (its hardly noticeable to the naked eye). These do get very hot. Make sure they are not in contact with the bumper because it will melt it. Overall, the best exhaust you can buy even though they are more expensive than most. I cant see myself ever replacing them because they sound perfect to me.

Review from Borla Stinger S-Type Axle-Back Exhaust (11-12 GT)

2011 Mustang GT with Borla S Type Axleback

I’m very pleased with this exhaust system . The price may be high but it is very worth it ! At first I was gonna go with Flowmasters outlaws or Roush Axle Back since they were cheaper but after hearing them in person and in video , they were simply too loud for me and they had drone . The S Type is Borla”s in between system of sound . The Touring system is slightly louder then stock but not really noticeable . The S Type ( the one that I have ) is louder then stock and gives your 5.0 a nice rumble and that classic vintage sound you look for in a muscle car . I also looked at the Atak which is Borla”s most aggressive system and that system is very similar to the Outlaws from Flowmaster . So overall , the S Type”s are perfect for somebody looking to get classic sound out of their mustang and have a system that’s louder then stock and definitely a head tuner but not too loud to where the cops are always gonna be on your tail . Also THEY IS NO DRONE AT ALL , HIGHWAY SPEEDS , LOW RPM”s , CITY DRIVING so that’s also a plus .

Review from Borla Stinger S-Type Axle-Back Exhaust (11-12 GT)

      Super Aggressive Exhaust Tone

I recently installed these with the Borla Over axle pipes, x-pipe and Long Tube Headers. I can not emphasis how loud these are with that setup. That being said, I get nothing but good comments on how it sounds. When I hit WOT.. These things just go stupid. I went with these over the Ataks because these were supposed to be quieter. These are borderline too loud with the LTH. Just take that under advisement when doing the entire system .

      Aggressive

This is one of the best sounding exhausts I've had. I have stock exhaust up until this product and there is zero drone at any rpm range. Highly recommended.

      great throaty exhaust

if you're looking for that classic muscle car sound look no farther for just an axleback. gets rid of the raspy sound the stock makes with more throat to make that coyote howl when you really give it some gas.

      Borla Stinger S-Type

I have stainless works 1-7/8 in. headers with off-road x pipe so pretty much any straight through mufflers came out too raspy and loud at any speed. These mufflers paired with borla over the axle pipes made the sound of my car amazing. A lot more of tuned sound, sounds like it belongs on the car, more deep tones and almost no drone at all even with full exhaust without cats and resonators. Definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a tame tone when cruising but stupid loud at WOT.

Review from Borla Stinger S-Type Axle-Back Exhaust (11-12 GT)

My Stang sounds so beastly now!

I went back and forth between the ATAK and S-Type axle back exhaust for more than a year. Finally, I decided on the S-Type and hit the order button. After a small hiccup in the packaging of my purchase, I received the beautiful Borlas. They are now on my 2012 5.0, and I absolutely love them. Upon starting my car, there is a low growl that is music to my ears; and the throaty sound at take off is perfect. I'm so glad I decided to finally make this purchase. I highly recommend the S-Type for daily drivers. :)

Review from Borla Stinger S-Type Axle-Back Exhaust (11-12 GT)

Baddest sounding exhaust for my 2011 Mustang GT

Love this new Borla exhaust. I listened to many u tube videos to get an idea of the sound. Many brands, including the Atak's sounded abnoxious like open headers....not my style. Other brands didn't sound good at all. Didn't want my car to sound like a rice grinder either! I wanted something throaty and classy, and these are perfect for me and even better than I expected. Visually, they fill up the entire exhaust area with their wide mouths and look fantastic at the back of my 2011 GT, and the sound is amazing! My stuffy neighbors can't even complain about them, cause they sound so GOOD! Thanks, American Muscle!

Should of bought these mufflers the first time

I run kooks 1 7/8 long tubes with kooks O/R H-pipe and combined with these mufflers I have finally found the perfect sound. I have run Roush and RTR axle-backs. Borla S-type have the best sound, not too quiet, not too loud and no more of that horrible rasp and popping. Sounds like how a mustang should with a nice deep yet exotic tone. The quality of the muffler build is second to none.

Review from Borla Stinger S-Type Axle-Back Exhaust (11-12 GT)

Unique style and great muscle Car sound

My 2011 GT/CS vert m6 had an ok exhaust note stock but I wanted more muscle car sound without getting too loud while cruising top down with my wife. Like most of us I looked at a lot of axle-back specs and read a lot of reviews. Based on reviews I narrowed it down to the Borla Stinger S, MagnaFlow and Ford Racing GT 500 axle backs as having the best combination of near stock sound at light throttle, no drone at highway speeds and pure muscle car tone when having fun winding thru the gears. I believe all three would give me the sound I was looking for but only the Borla Stinger S had the 4.5 inch exhaust tips that I believe perfectly fill the rear exhaust openings on my 2011 GT, giving a unique aggressive look. I let my son install it in his high-school auto class since they have a lift. He indicated it took about 1.5 hours and texted me that everyone in the shop thought it sounded "badass" when done. Only took a few days before a guy rolled down his window at a stop light to ask what exhaust I had because they thought it sounded great. Very happy with the sound, up to about 2200 rpm close to stock with a nice burble at idle, 2200 to 3500 definitely louder than stock and above 3500 clearly a Coyote in full song.

Review from Borla Stinger S-Type Axle-Back Exhaust (11-12 GT)

      Perfect fit and sounds great

It took a little more than an hour mainly because it interfered with a trailer hitch I had on there. I had been meaning to pull it off anyway. The 4.5" tips look great and fit so nice. The way it is designed it can be adjusted to fit perfectly. Sounds great. Actually not as loud as I expected in the cabin. Plenty loud outside though. Doesn't seem any louder when cruising. No drone. Definitely a different note when driving. I like it. I am glad it is still quiet when cruising 70-74 MPH on my 100 mile a day commute.

We'll worth the extra cost compared to lesser priced axle backs.

Very satisfied. Great muscle car tone. Not uneccassarily loud until you stomp on it, then it gets everyone's attention. Nice even tone with no drone anywhere in the rpm range. Borla is the only way to go as far as my 2012 GT is concerned.

      great sound

as soon as i got my 2011 GT on the street and kicked it a little only one thing came to mind, "Bullit" It is starting to mellow out a little the more miles i put on but in a good way. It seems to get deeper which is what i wanted anyway. Couldn't find any sound clips but it all worked out. Great sound for the buck.

      Borla exhaust

Thsi exhaust is God sent! It sounds beautiful outside of my car and inside sound isnt overwhelming. I would highly recommend this product. No drone and perfect amount of bass raspy tone. I received a ton of head turns when I went to this years mustang week with the item. There is only one thing to beware of. Make sure when you install or your exhaust shop installs, that the pipes are completely dead center. if they are too close to the bumper skirt it is a possiblity of melting. Even though its not suppose to unless its touching just save yourself the trouble. If the pipe does not come dead center do not install. Have AM send you another shipment and return old shipment. Save yourself the time and exspense. Other than that i Love the product and AM and Borla as a company. Guarenteed customer satification.

      Nothing better than borla

These axel backs are great! Haven't heard anything that can match the sound of these. Now they aren't loud loud if you want something that'll wake up the neighbors on a cold start roush and SLP's are the way to go but they won't sound as good as borla. Very please with how gorgeous these sound. I get asked about once a day hey man what's your exhaust setup. I just have a fordracing hi-flo x-pipe and these axel backs. Low rumble that is reminiscent of classic muscle and isn't annoying or loud until you push that fun pedal and it erupts at wot just as loud as my friends ataks with the same year car. But my cruisin and idle exhaust notes are peerless. I love these! Thanks AM

      Best Sound

No matter have many sound clips you listen to online. It doesn't even come close the TRUE sound of these mufflers. As soon as you start your mustang you notice the deep rumble but not over powering sound. A true muscle car sound. This is tied for the best styling mod I did for my car. The other is matte black deep dish bullit wheels. Worth every penny!!

Review from Borla Stinger S-Type Axle-Back Exhaust (11-12 GT)

Look no further for a perfect mod

For the past couple of years I have toyed with the idea of installing axle backs on my Mustang. Unfortunately I live in the land of Prius, BMW, and Range Rover, so getting information and first-hand sound bytes is difficult and the Internet/YouTube does not do these justice. 1) After seeing the finished product, I hate to admit, the tips are a bit large for my taste. They reminded me, at first glance, of these newbies with their souped up "hair dryers" and oversized exhaust, but one I heard them, it is easy to overlook the size. 2) I read and heard many comments about the lack of harmonic vibration, but how does one know for sure? These are AMAZING! They're loud under throttle, but at cruising speed 35-70 mph, they're quite tame, if you're in the proper gear. There is NO HV at all, period, and at cruising, you can easily hold a conversation. If you're keeping the rpms at 3k+, well they'll be loud all the time, but not overly obnoxious. 3) These cost about half again as much as other systems, but for discriminating tastes, there is no other choice. 4) A couple of caveats: expect your gas mileage to drop about 20%, but it's offset by a 200% increase in fun factor (remember they sound best under full throttle) Also expect to be challenged by every Camaro/Challenger and the aforementioned Japanese hair-dryers.
