hp? does this add any hp? if so how much?

  • You wouldn't see an increase in HP or torque on a dyno any more than maybe a 1-2 gain. The purpose of this mod itself is to catch air at high speeds while driving. That makes it difficult to track the kind of gains it will actually give you beyond what you feel yourself. The cooler the engine bay, the cooler the air is entering the engine, the cooler the air is entering the engine the more volume it carries for the combustion process. When all is said and done, if this is the only mod you have installed on your GT, you'll probably never notice the difference in power, but you'd be getting roughly anywhere from 1-7hp out of this mod alone when driving at highway speeds. It all depends on how much air is being captured by the system, the faster you're going, the more effective the ram air type of system works.

Fit with High Rise Intake and Cold Air Intake I'd like to have a functional scoop but I have already installed the Ford Racing High Rise Intake and Ford Racing Cold Air Intake. I also have Racing Cams and Long tube headers. Will this CDC Shaker System work with that combination?

  • No this kit requires the use if the factory air box

I’ve got a v6 2007 I love to class it up. Do you got something for it? I love shakers if you got any Suggestions. When I finished my 2015 Camaro they still talk about it today. I got cancer and it had to go. You can bought most anything but getting sick and cancer is worse then drugs. Thank you for your time. P.S. do you have a Catalog for 2017 mustang V6 convertible?

  • Unfortunately at this time we do not offer the CDC Shaker System for the 2005-2009 V6 Mustang. CDC does offer this as part number 0511-7001-01. Parts catalogs can be requested for free at the link below. These are sorted by generation.

how high does the shaker system sit above the intake/above the factory hood?

  • The CDC shaker system scoop sits about 2-4 inches above the factory hood depending on where you are measuring from.

Does this work with an upgraded throttle body?

  • The CDC Shaker System does not directly attach to the throttle body as the shaker system connects to the intake box. As long as the intake system being used is compatible with the throttle body you are looking to use, the shaker will remove unaffected.

I have the shaker system but when I have the scoop on, it throws a code for running too lean. I took the scoop off and drove almost 1000 miles and the code never came back. When I put it back on, 30 miles of driving brought the code back. Could this be bringing in more air than the injectors can keep up with by chance? 1 answer

    Nice system

I’ve had my shaker installed for 11 years now on my car. Still love it, I was curious about air flow so to replicate I regulated 20psi through my compressor and blew through the shaker and could feel air flowing in around the inlet tube to my cai filter through the shaker system. Didn’t see any gains on the dyno though I think the fans they use don’t do justice to the velocity of flow at 40 mph while driving through this system. Did the install myself, I’m a carpenter by trade, the template included was great even though I still sweated bullets while drilling and cutting on my car lol. If you want a retro look I def suggest this system.

    Just do it!!!

Looked at many of hoods for the mustang but the shaker is really what I wanted. Cutting the hood made me look at the other options available because I was not sure it would look perfect (absolutely centered) on the hood. I could not be happier with the results after install. There are a lot of really good looking hoods you can pick from, but to me, nothing says mustang more then a functional shaker hood. My advice, just do it! It really is that cool.

    Couldn't be happier!

Check and recheck your measurements! I did six times before drilling the first hole. Once I was done with cutting a big hole in a perfectly good hood, it was centered and fit perfectly over the scoop. Looks awesome.Took me a little more than a day.

    Glorified Cold-Air

A cold-air upgrade for my car wasn't something I really cared to do but I did always want some kind of hood scoop for better airflow. I saw this and knew it was the perfect upgrade for the car so I ordered it and began the preparation to cut a hole in my baby. I went to a body-work business nearby and they did it for $60 which was a great price to pay versus risking it myself. However, once it came to the installing of the shaker itself it was a bit of an issue. Maybe it is only my car, but some wiring hoses did not agree with the pre-cut holes in the shaker so I had to cut a considerable amount out of the back. This isn't so bad since nobody can see it but it sucks that it didn't fit as it was supposed to. Also, since it mounts on the screws from your throttle body, threading them back on is a huge pain. All in all, the shaker is an awesome upgrade if you don't plan on touching the engine anytime soon. I see people noticing a change in performance but that's all in your head. It will not give you better performance whatsoever. It does give you peace of mind knowing cold air is traveling into the airbox and when it is cold outside, the aluminum scoop will actually get cold as well. It's pretty unique. So if you want a legitimate hood scoop and you don't mind paying the price, then I would suggest this highly.

I am so glad I bought the kit. I am also thrilled that my wife talked me into have a shop do the installation as well. I have the ford racing cai kit, and having that made the installation require some modifications as they are surprisingly not paired well together in the installation process, however after the shop figured it out, it looks so hot! I get compliments all the time and the performance is definitely noticeable.

Looks awesome in every way. Can't say enough about it. Other than cutting the hood(which I recommend a shop) it was very simple to install.

    Shaken all over....

A definite headturner. Fully functional and gives the engine some slight additional juice via real cold air intake and low restriction air filter that comes with it. I had my dealer install it and he did a perfect job for $150. Wasn't about to chance cutting that $2000 aluminum hood myself. Trimmed the Shaker out with original '69 style COBRA JET chrome script on each side of the scoop which attached with adhesive backing it came with. Really sets it off.

    shaker 3/12/10

We were very impressed with this product. We have a 2007 GT/CS mustang it was a really cool addition. My husband talked me into doing the install ourselves. We have never done anything like this! He cut 4 holes in the corners with a hole saw and I used the jigsaw to meet them. It was a great way to get the corners nice and rounded. It was nerve racking to say the least but overall the directions were very easy to follow. I did a search online for other directions and came across "Taco Bill" very detailed directions and some good pointers. We weren't impressed with the drain hoses that came with the shaker hood so we ended up with some hoses that matched the rest of the hoses under the hood. Overall I would highly recommend a shaker hood versus a non-functional hood scoop. Thanks!!

    Must Have

Measure twice cut once. Did the install myself, and once you get by cutting the hole all that is left are simple bolt ons. Measure and follow the template and the trim will cover things up around the cut.
