Review & Install Video

Hey, guys. Alex from americanmuscle.com, here today with my quick review and breakdown of the Chrome Projector Headlights with Halos, fitting the 2009 through 2014 F-150 without factory HID lighting. In this video, I'm gonna talk about who this kit is going to appeal to, the functionality and light output that you should be expecting, the price of this kit, and then what it's gonna take to get these installed onto your truck where I'm gonna be giving these an easy one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter, and an hour's worth of labor. And I'll have a little bit more for you on that later. So, the chrome halo-equipped projector headlights that I have here today should appeal to the F-150 owner out there that didn't have HID lighting equipped on their truck from the factory. It's also looking to make a big and bold change up front, as well as throw a little bit more light. The CCFL halo projectors that we have here are gonna be for the F-150 owner that doesn't really like that black or smoked-out look, as they can be a little bit concerned with how much light they'll throw when it gets dark out, and for someone that definitely digs the chrome look. These are also gonna be great for any truck owner out there that needs to replace their faded or worn-out factory headlights, but more so for someone that wants to get into a projector, as it's going to be that much more brighter than a factory incandescent bulb, but at the end of the day, for someone that is just looking to make a very big and bold change up front. So in terms of the construction here, we're gonna see that this is going to be a chrome setup, which means that the housing itself will not be smoked or dark in any way. The main focal point here is gonna be the use of the projector-style low beam, as well as having a pair of CCFL halos, which will be that much brighter than LED-style. Additionally, these will have LED accent lighting going across the bottom. In terms of the pricing here, you should expect to be spending about 430 bucks for this kit, which is gonna be due to the fact that this will come with a projector-style low beam, as well as the CCFL halos and the LED accent lighting below. Switching gears to the installation portion of the video, you're looking at a very easy, one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter and about an hour's worth of time to get these onto your F-150. So, looking ahead here, there's really not gonna be anything that much that you're gonna need here, aside from a basic socket set and a little bit of patience. And to start, you're simply gonna be cracking your hood and then removing the two bolts up top, and the one right down here. Having pulled my own headlights on my F-150 before, I can tell you that it's gonna take a little bit of strength to pull these off. I wouldn't be afraid that you're gonna be hulking them a little bit, but it will need a little force to get them removed. Once they're in place, you're really not looking at anything much. Aside from connecting your wiring here, you will need to do a little bit of splicing, but it's gonna be very simple, and we're gonna have you covered with some detailed install info. All right, guys, so just to wrap things up here, some final thoughts. If you're the '09 through '14 F-150 owner that didn't have HIDs equipped from the factory and you're looking for something that's a little brighter, as well as just making a considerable change up front, I would definitely recommend checking these out for your truck. So that's my quick review of the Chrome Halo Projectors with Halos, fitting the '09 through '14 F-150 without HID Lighting, available right here at americanmuscle.com.

What bulb is used in the assemblies? Does the assemblies contain the horizontal and vertical alignment adjusters? Is any additional wiring required?

Skimo

  • The Axial Chrome Projector Headlights w/ Halo would utilize H1 Bulbs. Adjustment would be vertical only on these headlamps. there would be wiring required for the Halos and the LED accents.

    Disappointment

I've done a lot of upgrades on my Mustang with American Muscle and Roxom lighting have been really impressed so wanted to upgrade my F150 with HID lighting especially love the halo look, Installed in the garage and loved the looks and lighting Then went out in the sunlight, what a huge disappointment, save your money or spend the extra $200 and upgrade to the better lighting Halo's are not visible during the day time (absolutely cannot tell there on), the strip of lead lighting also not very noticeable on a sunny day, Nothing like the HID factory lighting or the Roxom head lights/fog lights I upgraded to on my Mustang
