Own a 2011 GT lowered 1.5" I like the direct bolt on on this Dana . Will there be an issue with the 4" dia. and what is the dia. size of my 2 pc drive shaft ?

    69mach

    • Any of the 4" driveshafts are not recommended for lowered Mustangs (11-14). Try the Ford Performance aluminum shaft; it's under $700.

Dana Spicer on 2014 Mustang GT/CS

This driveshaft went in very easy and has corrected much (not all) of the driveline clunk. I installed in about 1.5 hours in my garage with car on jack stands. I was able to remove the old driveshaft without removing the exhaust. I just loosened on both ends and removed the two piece driveshaft through the rear of the car. One recommendation would be to run a tap into the rear 6 mounting holes as the original thread locker make it difficult to insert the new bolts.

      Very nice!

Very good quality part, I have this same shaft on both of our Mustangs. Fitment was good and spins smooth.

      First Class Product

I have not yet installed this driveshaft because I have just ordered from American Muscle the Blowfish Shifter Bracket. I want to put the bracket in before the driveshaft goes in. I can say though that the driveshaft looks to be of superior quality. Very nice welds and all round hi quality workmanship. Thank you America Muscle for the great service. Oh yeah, one more thing. I live in Manitoba, so the car won't see the road again til spring. That's a long time to have to wait before actually getting to test these two new mods out. Ouch. Thanks again Tim Davis

      Great Replacement for stock unit

Took my 2011 GT into my Ford dealership to check driveline vibration. Found center support bearing and u-joint were binding. Since the oem driveshaft was not serviceable and cost about the same as the Dana driveshaft, I decided to go with the one piece aluminum. Much better way to go. I ordered the 4" driveshaft because 3.5" was not in stock. Driveshaft bolts right up. One issue that was encountered is with vehicle hoisted on a 4 point contact lift, the suspension unloaded and driveshaft interferes with reconnecting right side exhaust by hitting the resonator. However by using a drive on lift, everything became properly aligned and right side exhaust slipped back together with plenty of clearance. It looks like if a 4 point lift has to be used in the future, right side exhaust will have to be disconnected first to avoid damage to driveshaft or exhaust. Small price to pay for having a much better setup which is what it should be from the factory. The pony feels quicker when taking off from a stop.
