Dave '14 F-150 XLT

I felt it was time to see what the EcoBoost was all about. I picked up a new Tuxedo Black daily driver – my 2014 XLT 4x4 pickup with a 3.5L EcoBoost, extended cab and 6.5’ bed with side steps. Since it’s so new, I have yet to modify it. Several mods are coming sooner rather than later, everything from lighting upgrades, to a leveling kit and exhaust work. Of course, the cold air intake and tuner are already in the works!

This is the 4th F-150 I’ve owned and the first one I’ve bought new.  The love affair started off with a classic, a 1992 XLT 4x4 pickup with a 5.8L, regular cab and 8’ long bed.  It was a bright red and black toy with meaty 33’s that made it an unstoppable blast in the mud, the snow and the occasional “short cut” though a front yard… uhh I meant random field…  After selling that truck, I had a need for another.  So I picked up a clean 1993 XLT 4x4 pickup with a 4.9L, regular cab and 8’ long bed in dark blue.  I really liked that first one, can you tell?  Runs like it’s new and I still proudly own and drive it every weekend.  My 2006 Lariat 4x4 pickup with a 5.4L, extended cab and 6.5’ bed was what sparked my love for the new features Ford began to put into the trucks.  Dubbed by the neighbors as the Cowboy’s Cadillac, I fell in love and hop in when I want to open the sunroof and enjoy a long drive.
