Description
Soft Bend, High Strength. A traditional steel thimble for your synthetic winch rope gets the job done, but the steel is heavy and has the potential to damage your fairlead as the steel scratches it. But with a Factor 55 shackle mount, it's not something you need. That's where the Factor 55 Synthetic Rope Load Spool for ProLink, FlatLink, FlatLink E, Bridle & Ultra Hook comes in. With one simple 5/8-inch spool, you create a soft-bend connection for your winch rope to connect to your shackle mount, making steel on steel damage an impossibility.
Keep the Weight On the Business End. The default heavy steel thimble is a weight that synthetic rope carries, but it really doesn't need to. With just one small ring of ultra-durable aluminum, this load spool provides all the benefits of a thimble without the added weight and risk of damaging your fairlead.
Fits Most Models. Due to the range of shackle mounts Factor 55 offers, one synthetic rope load spool cannot fit every one they make. This spool is designed to fit the ProLink, FlatLink, FlatLink E, Bridle and Ultra Hook models.
Installation: Rope Splicing Required. If you are transferring from a steel thimble to a load spool for the first time, you will need to know how to splice synthetic rope to ensure correct installation. Having a synthetic rope with an eye already spliced in just requires you to put the spool directly in the eye, and should only take seconds. A fresh splice should take about a half hour.
