Upgrade OEM Gears. Are you looking to upgrade to a stronger set of rear gears? Then look no further than installing a set of genuine Ford Racing Gears in your Pony. Ford Racing Ring and Pinion Gears are perfect for street, road, and race applications.

Superior Quality. Manufactured in the USA, these Ford Racing Mustang ring and pinion gears feature a super strong forged construction, CNC cut & lapped gear teeth, and are completed in a black oxide finish to resist corrosion.

Recommended Upgrade. Changing the rear axle gear ratio will throw off the calibration of your Mustangs speedometer, but a Ford Racing Speedometer Recalibration Tool is an inexpensive way to fix this issue.

Application. This Ford Racing Ring and Pinion Gear set will fit all 2005 to 2009 4.6L V8 Mustangs including the GT and Bullitt models. A master bearing kit is recommended by most installers, especially on high mileage vehicles, see drop down option above.

Technical Note. Installation costs will vary, but a good rule of thumb is between $250 and $300. Be sure to work with a reliable shop that you trust for installations. You can also save money on your installation labor by having your Trac-Lok rebuilt at the same time as your gears are installed, see drop down option above.

Car is 08 GT 4.6L with JLT CAI and Bama tune running 3.55 gears and 1900 rpm at 65 mph. My goal is to improve highway mileage without overly impacting acceleration performance. The 3.15 gear set will lower my rpm to about 1700 at 65 mph. Will this be too low and lug the engine in 5th? What about in other gears 1st - 4th? Should I consider 3.27 gear set instead?

        • I would personally recommend dropping down to 3.31 gears to try and help with your gas mileage without sacrificing too much power. Unfortunately with these cars it is difficult to really improve that gas mileage, going with gears longer than 3.31's like the 3.27 or 3.15 may really drag the car down compared to where it is at now. I would recommend a set of 3.31's just from my experience.

I have an 05 mustang gt with a mt-82 swapped in and realized i dont even hit 60 in 2nd now do you think this would be a good replacement to improve gearing? in 6th i cruse at 2k at 60mph what do you think the difference would be there?

        • This will all depend on what gear ratio you have now. Please contact us about this.
