In reference to the borla exhaust system, is this product louder than the touring, but quieter than the s-type?

  • That's exactly right! The Borla Touring will be quieter than this exhaust and the S-Type will indeed be louder!

Are these exhaust systems identical in sound, volume and drone to the Borla systems?

  • The Ford Racing by Borla Touring Cat-Back Exhaust w/ Chrome Tips - Dual Rear Exit (11-14 5.0L) is going to have it's own unique tone. It is going to have a more powerful sound than stock but it will not be very loud. The Borla Touring systems have a more mellow tone while packing a punch every time you hit the gas. The Borla Stinger S-Type Cat-Back Exhaust - Split Rear Exit (11-14 5.0L), item #T527326-C, (http://www.americanmuscle.com/borla-stinger-stype-catback-split-rear-exit-1114-50l.html) is going to have an extremely aggressive, throaty tone. While the Borla ATAK Cat-Back Exhaust - Split Rear Exit (11-14 5.0L), item # T527330, (http://www.americanmuscle.com/borla-atak-catback-sre-1114-50l.html) is going to have a louder, more aggressive sound than the S-Types, but not as deep. All of these exhaust systems will increase the performance of your truck while giving it a more aggressive sound that does not have drone!

    Worth it

I was looking for a 304 stainless steel system with a split rear exit for my F150. I wanted a cat-back system that was not super loud at idle, but just something that was "throaty" when you put your foot on the gas. This system met all of my needs and was totally worth it. A few points: - When the truck is warmed up at idle, the exhaust sound is just slightly louder than stock. - Has little to zero drone at highway speeds. - When you put your foot on the gas, thats when you can hear the "muscle" of the coyote engine. And the sound is not overly obnoxious. - The driver side tailpipe extension hangs pretty low in front of the rear differential cover. I had the tailpipe extensions ceramic coated black to blend in with the rest of the underside chassis of the truck. - What took the longest was the alignment of the exhaust tips; would recommend a rubber hammer and a good-size pry bar to adjust the exhaust hangers and tail pipes during installation.
