Adding winch plates to your Ford F-150 can solve several problems at once. Many of these plates are made to bolt onto the chassis rather than to the bumper, making them even more secure when pushing the limit on winching a very heavy object. Though it is rare for a bumper to separate while winching it is possible. This cannot happen with a chassis mounted plate. High quality aftermarket plates like Rough Country's come with grade 8, military and aerospace level, bolts and hardware that won't snap under any shearing force less than 150,000 lbs per square inch (psi). Hidden winch plates add the extra bonus of looking sleeker. The plate moves the winch behind your F-150 pickup truck's bumper. Fabricated from 0.25-inch plate steel ensures the plate won't split or crumple under the powerful stresses of pulling or recovery. A black powder coat helps prevent rust and also blends the plate into the Ford truck's fittings and trim. Where possible, these plates are designed to fit onto the chassis mounting points of certain years without time consuming drilling and modification.
