More Power. Built with all new parts this Ford Racing 427ci short block features a 351 Windsor small block and forged steel internals making it the perfect foundation for big block horsepower and torque from a small cubic inch engine.

Built Ford Tough. Assembled with Mahle hard forged pistons, SCAT forged steel H-beam connecting rods and a SCAT forged steel crankshaft, this Ford Racing 427 short block is built from a 351 Windsor main block (with a 4.125" bore x 4.00" stroke) that features 4-bolt main bearing caps for bottom-end strength.

Application. This Ford Racing 427 Cubic Inch Short Block is designed for use in street and track applications. Can also be used in a resto-mod, kit car or a custom car build.

  • Hydraulic roller camshaft compatible. Requires aftermarket tie bar hydraulic lifters
  • 0.060-inch oil galley restrictors included for solid roller cam applications
  • Internally balanced
  • Uses standard Windsor timing cover M-6059-D351
  • Standard Windsor oil pan flange
  • Recommended cylinder head fasteners M-6065-BOSS head bolts or M-6014-BOSS studs depending on application
  • Most aftermarket performance cylinder heads are compatible with this short block. Ford Racing short blocks are built with pistons designed for 20 degree valve angle heads and will fit stock or spread valve guide centerlines.
  • Not designed for production 302/351W or M-6049-Y302/Y303/X302/X303/X304/X305 cylinder heads
  • Assembled and ready for your heads, cam and timing chain set
  • Requires head gaskets M-6051-R351
  • Oil pan and timing cover are a 351W bolt pattern 
  • High-performance harmonic balancer M-6316-D302 is recommended

    will this fit and can i install and in my 2003 Mustang so i can replace the V6 factory engine

    • You can fit this block in the engine bay of a 2003 V6. Though, you will need to make many modifications to ensure everything works properly.

    How many horespower can this block withstand?

    • A well built block and well built tune this block can handle 850-1000hp. The build is the limit to the block don't cut corners and it handles a 1000hp nicely.

    what ounce balancer does this 427 take , also im using a performance auto c-4

    • The Ford Performance 427 CI Aluminum Short Block can use any balancer as long as it matches to the flywheel weight. However, I strongly suggest having this internally balanced.
